View Full Version : The Logo (and feel of it)
Trucks 09-15-2006, 10:08 AM Maybe just my opinion but you have a lowered truck as your logo? Maybe we should split the site into a trucks site, and a lowrider trucks site. I for one can't stand to even look at an american truck that has been reduced to import like stance. I would be very interested in others opinions and will try to attach a poll to this post.
redneckgirl 09-15-2006, 11:54 AM That's the beauty of this site. There is a little bit of everything here. Whether you like it or not, you can pretty much find it here. The minute you start chopping it up, into lowrider/lifted/stock...you'll lose members. There are a thousand other forums out there for lowered specific, lifted specific...this would be just one more.
I personally have a 72 with a 3/5 drop. But that doesn't mean I don't love to see, or appreciate the trucks with 38's under them, or the bone stock one-owners, or the beat to crap work trucks.
Separating one group out would cause a LOT of anger, and who would be next to go? Blazers/Jimmy's?...Suburbans?...I personally like it the way it is.
Just my opinion.
poll changed to non public ( so people might actually vote ;) ) and options added in
Trucks 09-15-2006, 12:46 PM Ok, thanks as I haven't posted a poll here before. Thanks for not just deleting the post.
Well, how about just addressing the logo, maybe a frontal view of 3 trucks, or a morphing image? Low, stock, jacked?
not my call to do :) the logos past and present were done by members for the site. I'm sure Josh will address this when he is able to.
I find this kinda funny, pointless and annoying :) It's a logo folks... Perhaps to appease everyone we should do a logo conatining a 47-55, 55-59, 60-66, 67-72, 73-87, 88-98, and a 99+ and lets not forget the 07 silverados ar eout ina few month so we should put one of those on there too. Then we need a stock, lifted, lowered of each, etc etc etc. It's merely a logo representing a style of these trucks done by one of the best automotive artists in the nation. I personally dont have the money to spend another $750 on a logo, do you? Everyone single truck I own is bone stock and will likely stay that way, but it doesn't mean I should hate on the lowered crowd, or the lifted crowd, or the stock crowd.... This board is about ALL Chevy trucks not just one select group. If you would look in in the store there is actually more than one logo available, one of which is a stock 69....
BillGent 09-15-2006, 01:26 PM I personally wanna see the logo be a 92 Isuzu pickup......
:haha: you ain't right bill
redneckgirl 09-15-2006, 01:33 PM :haha: you ain't right bill
You beat me to it, Liz!!
chevy_fatman 09-15-2006, 02:01 PM I personally wanna see the logo be a 92 Isuzu pickup......

meathead95 09-15-2006, 02:02 PM i think the logo is bitchin
powell72 09-15-2006, 02:32 PM I would get bored pretty quick if everyone on my "portion" of the board had the same looking trucks as me. Variety is the spice of life as they say. On another note, people have been lowering vehicles for DECADES, it isn't something the ricers or minitruckers (no offense minitruckers) invented in the last 10-15 years.
woodridge 09-15-2006, 03:28 PM Personally, I'd like to see a rendering of my truck for the logo.
No, I think it's cool just like it is but then my opinion is like my toush, everybody's got one...............
Trucks 09-15-2006, 03:49 PM Ya, I hope you feel better now.
I can't believe you payed for a logo, with this many members I would have thought someone wold be happy to donate a logo. Sheesh :bling2: maybe I should get into the logo business.
Ya, I hope you feel better now.

someone pee in your wheaties today?? Everything about this site costs money in one way or another...
Feel free to design a logo and submit it if you feel that strongly... :)
Very true if you think you can do a better logo please do submitt it,i really like this one but would like to see what you can come up with :)
LUV2XCLR8 09-15-2006, 09:08 PM It's kinda like the one I suggested back when they were asking for opinions
on making a newer logo for this site, so of course I really do like it alot :D
ChevyCrazy67 09-15-2006, 09:24 PM Again I have to say..... if it ain't your site and you don't pay the bills just be happy to be here,at least until you can start one of your own hmmm. Me I like it just fine, and I'll probably like whatever else might change about it too.
chevy_fatman 09-15-2006, 09:42 PM I'm gonna say it, he ain't even blue and complaining about something that's free? :blah: :drama:
7 hrs after your last reply and still no new logo? wassup?
jsbgump 09-15-2006, 10:40 PM :agree: someone pee in your wheaties today?? Everything about this site costs money in one way or another...
Feel free to design a logo and submit it if you feel that strongly... :)
67chevy2wd 09-16-2006, 06:07 PM I think the logo kicks ass. But it is Josh's site so I will have to live with whatever he does to it ;)
97silv5.7 09-16-2006, 06:16 PM I like the logo, but I think Bill is onto something what about a datsun!
sdkid 09-17-2006, 01:51 PM Its a logo, nothing more. It is one persons rendition of these trucks. I'm here for the information, and friendship. Most of which spans several decades of these trucks...Lifted, lowered, or stock. Just my .02.
Putter 09-18-2006, 03:48 PM I personally wanna see the logo be a 92 Isuzu pickup......
Oh, if we change logos....please use mine....it was a "SPACE CAB" model.
Pic#1 is my younger brother and myself back in the early 90's...both serving (yes...I was SKINNY BACK THEN)
Pic#2 is late 90's, after a walk-thru conversion retrogressive tailgate (that means 'reverse action') and enough bass to make YOUR cd player skip!
Hahahahaha:metal: (I have since GROWN UP!)
Mudder 09-18-2006, 04:48 PM What logo???????? :)
LUV2XCLR8 09-18-2006, 07:44 PM Hahahahaha:metal: (I have since GROWN UP!)
Up or Out :haha: :D
Karl Hoh 09-18-2006, 09:53 PM I've tried to think up a polite way to say what I feel about this thread. ( I gave up ). The logo and this site KICKS *SS!!!
phlegm 09-19-2006, 11:53 AM Its just a logo, doesnt bother me much....
If it was my site??? Bone stock truck would be the logo we all celebrate our trucks and they all start out looking more or less one way... Bone stock.
But its not my site and live here despite all the Mods knowing I am a gearhead wannabe..... lol
John Fabris 09-19-2006, 01:15 PM It is a logo and it is not a big thing. There are more important things to worry about.
Nolowrider 09-19-2006, 03:03 PM When I lowered my truck back in the early 80's it was the only one in town (Gainesville, Fl. big town) for a long time, waaaaaaay before the mini craze was even thought about. I kind of take offense to your statement. And yes, I have had my truck 24 yrs.
I like the logo, I think it kicks azz. And if I didn't like it, so what. It's the people here that make the site.
Pop's72 09-19-2006, 03:51 PM I for one can't stand to even look at an american truck that has been reduced to import like stance.
After looking at the picture of my Blazer below I have decided that you are correct. My Blazer does look like an import and now I need to sell it. :(

Nolowrider 09-19-2006, 05:27 PM Pop's72-Awesome looking ride. Beautiful, for an import.
redneckgirl 09-19-2006, 06:42 PM And does anyone else remember the early 80's? You couldn't turn a street corner without seeing a jacked up Nissan or Toyota.....That sure didn't mean they were domestic did it?
Trucks 09-19-2006, 07:56 PM Ya, thanks again for all the kind understanding words.
It don't take much to get you guys going.:barf:
450hp69chevy 09-19-2006, 08:15 PM Mods, excuse me if this is harsh or innappropriate, but
Trucks,
its not the fact that it pisses me off about what you said about the logo, its the fact that its actually really stupid on your part I think. You joined to a site that is filled with thousands of great people and trucks with alotta knowledge. Ive been a member here for 4 years now and have never seen a thread like this. This is ridiculous*, if you dont like it that much, submit a new one or leave the site.
Josh, the site and logo are great, Ive learned more about these trucks than I ever thought I could know. Keep up the great work and leave the logo as is!
 "Split the site"
trucks, we all have our own likes and dislikes. It is not the fact that you brought up the subject, as I am sure there are others that dislike the logo as well. It is how you did.. if you wish to be treated with respect from others, you need to respect them first. If you start a post or coversation in a negative tone, or appear to be angry, you will likely get the same tone of replies. You essentially bashed every owner of a lowered truck on the site, along with the renderings of a board member and designer. What is it you expected in return? IMHO everyone has been rather nice.
WyoRoadDog 09-19-2006, 08:40 PM :agree:
I may get in a little trouble here, but this is all I'll say about it...
Frankly, I think it's rude that you would even start this poll/thread. It's not your site, and you willingly joined. If you had issues with not being "catered to" for your specific truck, perhaps you should have searched out a more appropriate forum. I lurked here for better than 2 months before joining, and when I did, immediately became a supporter, I had way more than my $25 worth of info before joining. I'm not harping on the supporter status, just noting that there is real value here, for all types of trucks, and I've learned a lot about these trucks, even from the guys lowering their trucks, though I'm doing a 4x4. There's alot of good folks here, with alot of great information, whether you're lowering, lifting, or restoring. I have watched and backread, and think that Josh and all the mods do a great job, and would suggest that you discuss with them any comments or criticisms you have rather than starting a thread that IMHO borders on trolling. My 2cents, YMMV.
redneckgirl 09-19-2006, 08:43 PM Ya, thanks again for all the kind understanding words.
It don't take much to get you guys going.:barf:
You are so very welcome!:)
And thank you for your kind words about our lowered trucks!!!
ChevyCrazy67 09-19-2006, 09:06 PM I'm pushing on 40 years of age hard and I'm fixin to lower my truck, I think they look great but then again I like the way them jacked up 4x4s look also. For that matter I like pretty much every d**m thing I've seen on here, thats why I joined this site for all the different rides. Why can't you be like that?
And yeah your right it don't take alot to push our buttons, you talk about somebody's ride thats like talkin about their family.
Primed67 09-19-2006, 11:39 PM just my opinion but i think the logo kicks butt!!!! Not all lowered trucks are are built to be like your so called import lowriders. Some of us do it for speed. There is less wind resistance on lowered vehicles than there is on stock and lifted vehicles. Yes I agree that some are built in ways I don't like either but that is what is so great about this site. Everyone is open to others styles and they accept it. This site is more than a forum, it is a large group of people that have become great friends and more than that it is a family of Chevrolet enthusiasts that keep these old trucks alive and on the road. They overlook just about everything and would bend over backward to help a friend in need. I'm a member of several other forums and I never have found a site that compared to this one!!! Thanks Josh!!!!!
Trucks 09-20-2006, 02:18 PM It seems theres some politically correctness run amok in here. What are the polls for, or a thread that is for "site feedback" if all you want to hear is "great site"? I wonder too why you have smileys with profanity in them. If we all love everyones trucks why would comparison to imports be an issue? I do like the content of the site, I figured you didn't want to just be flattered by "great site" over and over so I mentioned the thing I didn't like and said why, and offered a few suggestions. Maybe if the poll did not have an area for "I rather like the look of a lowered truck" I could see why you'd feel stepped on better.

The adult smilies are for the adult board. Its been stated many times. Feedback is feedback and bashing is bashing. Theres is plenty of feedback, both positive and negative all over the site. The difference is most people don't post negative feedback with the attitude you did... bashing members trucks along with the slamming of an artists work. Its perfectly fine for you to not like things, as well as suggest changes, just try to do it in an adult like manner, if you wish to be treated with respect in return.
YOU asked for feedback, you got it. Sorry if it isn't the feedback you wanted to hear. It appears as though you only wanted to hear what a great idea you had as well :)
We all have likes and dislikes, and personally I prefer lifted trucks to lowered as well. It doesn't give me the right, nor would I want to bash all the lowered trucks on here with a few comments. IMHO there are alot of lowered trucks that look nice, I can appreciate the work gone into them.. would I own one? Likely not, but that doesn't mean that I think lowered trucks look like ricers either...
Think of it this way, if a member here came into your house and said holy heck man, this is friking gay.. that paint, omg are you a flamer???? You need to do this that and the other thing, let me go call all our friends and ask them how gay they think you are in this house? I'd imagine that would irritate you a little.. If someone came in and said Hey man.. This is a cool place, but don't you think tan would look better on the walls then fuschia? Did you ever think about putting up a wall here or there.. You would likely be more apt to listen to the suggestions..
Political correctness has NOTHING to do with it, its called respect for others.. something we all need to be more aware of.
Maybe if the poll did not have an area for "I rather like the look of a lowered truck" I could see why you'd feel stepped on better.
Honestly, your reply now shows you still have attitude over it all. Maybe if you changed your tune a little bit, you would have a better responce.
450hp69chevy 09-20-2006, 05:59 PM Well spoken Liz
Blaz-air 09-20-2006, 06:12 PM Lifted, lowered, chopped, stock, primered, painted, pink... if it goes together with a nut and bolt and you can drive it I kinda like it. I have come to appreciate WORK of any style. Yeah I might not want to own one but I try to look past that at what went into it. Now with that said I DID THE LOGO. I got real thick skin, see.... I do this for a living. Josh asked me to do a logo. We bounced a few emails back and forth and this is what we came up with. You have to remember that you cannot please everyone all the time (BUT WE TRY). This is a very generic specific board(did that make sense) We cover a specific topic but with lots of variations. Enjoy the board for what it is. I have not had a blazer now for, what, something like 5 years now. I still visit this board daily. Later - by the way I like em low......
Carter
aka Blaz-air
with that said Carter... I like the other one you started better :hm: ;)

N2TRUX 09-20-2006, 09:20 PM Maybe just my opinion but you have a lowered truck as your logo? Maybe we should split the site into a trucks site, and a lowrider trucks site. I for one can't stand to even look at an american truck that has been reduced to import like stance.
...Well, how about just addressing the logo, maybe a frontal view of 3 trucks, or a morphing image? Low, stock, jacked? You have me somewhat confused. In your first post you say you "I for one can't stand to even look at an american truck that has been reduced to import like stance", then your next post ask for three different versions, one being a "lowrider" that you for one can't stand to look at.
Besides just pissing off owners of trucks that are lowered, along with the owner, administrators, and moderators of this site, exactly what are you trying to accomplish?....
79Silv4x4 09-20-2006, 10:44 PM I for one can't stand to even look at an american truck that has been reduced to import like stance.
I'd rather see a 73-87 chopped, tubbed, lifted, lowered, hacked, abused, wrecked, etc than I would to see one sitting rotting or awaiting the crusher.
Trucks 09-21-2006, 01:00 PM Now we are getting somewhere, people talking about what they like, maybe it wasn't worded perfect but thats what I was getting at, looking to see if there was enough interest in trucks that were not lowered, to justify a logo that wasn't just a lowered truck. These are letter on a screen, its pretty darn hard to say things with voice inflexions and stuff to know how things are said.
For N2TRUX, thats because there is feedback between posts, the main objection in the beginning seemed to be to the site splitting idea, so I dropped it, the argument against it was good.
79silv4x4 I agree, as I think everyone here would with what you stated.
Its a darn nice logo, no one ever said it wasn't, I just thought it would be neat to include trucks with big meats and ground clearance in the symbol of the site.
But as stated before it would be hard to cover all the differnet types of trucks, blazers, burb, panels and the different year that are on this board,we would have to have a parking lot for a logo.....lol.
Joe67 09-21-2006, 06:38 PM I find this kinda funny, pointless and annoying :) It's a logo folks... Perhaps to appease everyone we should do a logo conatining a 47-55, 55-59, 60-66, 67-72, 73-87, 88-98, and a 99+ and lets not forget the 07 silverados ar eout ina few month so we should put one of those on there too. Don't forget you'll have to have each truck in every color under the sun - aahhh pleasing everyone is tough :metal:
70gmcjimmy 10-01-2006, 09:09 PM Well I gotta say that I prefer stock ride hight configurations, but ya can learn a ton off the lowering and lifts, and the work involved is too cool! Some fine rides in both of those catagorys. There is enuff of them trucks out there for everybodys preference! I find it all interesting.
Now that logo is cool, but if it was a GMC, ----- just kidding!
Later---DAC
junkyardjohn 10-03-2006, 05:28 AM :) YOU GUYS HAVE WAY TO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS. GET OUT IN THE GARAGE & START WORKIN ON THAT TRUCK INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT THE OPINION OF SOME FNG. THE LOGO IS FINE JUST THE WAY IT IS. TO TELL THE TRUTH I NEVER EVEN CONSIDERED LOBBYING TO CHANGE IT. THATS NOT WHAT I THINK THIS SITE IS ABOUT. THIS IS THE GREATEST SOURCE OF INFORMATION ABOUT THESE OLD TRUCKS ON THE PLANET. THANKS FOR LETTING ME BE A PART OF IT. IF YOU CAN'T STAND IT..... WELL... DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE @SS ON THE WAY OUT. JOHN:rolleyes:
72BlckButy 10-04-2006, 01:34 PM Well spoken junkyardjohn! I happen to love the site, logo, and everything else involved. It's a one stop shop for any truck enthusiast, and is loaded with some of the best people around. A big thank you to Josh, Liz, Mudder, and every other administrator, for what you guys do, and put up with, so we have a place to call "home."
