Just wondered where (if any) decent wrecking/junkyards are located in this Province. Being new here I don't know where to look.
Thanks.

Canadian694x4 09-15-2006, 11:57 PM Parts in General due to the fact that their are no parts (or at least I didn't find any)for 67-72 trucks back in Ontario. So is their any good yards? HD2000 09-16-2006, 12:15 PM I'm not sure if this can be considered a junkyard but I get the feeling that Scott's Super trucks may have a lot of old iron that he is parting out (in addition to the new/reproduction stuff that he brings in). He is sort of in your neck of the woods as well (Penhold up by Red Deer). One of these days I may make the trip up just to see what he's got. http://www.scottssupertrucks.com/ Slammed66 09-16-2006, 12:30 PM Scotts is definatly worth the drive. his yard isnt huge but its definatly all 32-72 chevy trucks , actually his oldest is a 1927 hes got some cool stuff just to look at too an unrstored 57 cameo a fully resotored cameo , a wicked cool 35 rod pickup etc. and its a well organized and clean cut yard not tropiong thru the bush. Plug plug plug , Yeah I used to work there ....................... Also there is a good one east of bowden called dens repair its kinda in the boonies , But its definatly an old school just yard with tons of old iron the one in bowden is also decent BUT its ran by a crazy dude. pickapart in calgary has never let me down either I've always come out with something , last trip it was an lt1 efi setup for $13 Ill post some more as I think of em pissonNOS 09-16-2006, 04:24 PM theres another guy down in lethbridge too called hawthornes happy motoring he has tons of stuff mostly new but he has some good connections and could probly point you in a good direction Canadian694x4 09-16-2006, 05:36 PM I've Been Meaning To Drop By Scotts Super Trucks. Just Never Seem To Be In The Area When He's Open For Business. Thanks For All The Info Guys. Keep 'Em Coming. classicchev 09-17-2006, 01:44 PM Brian, there a enough guys in Alberta to select parts from. If you need anything , put a post and Im sure you will find everything in duplicate that you will need. The parts forums are good, but alot of Canadians dont put stuff on there because they think its a huge hassle to sell or get stuff across the border. I have sent many things, rims, bedwood. grills etc. everywhere. I know there are always new stuff that everyone needs, that is why Scotts is in business, but in some parts there is nothing available. Darren +1. I was fortunate to get a used lower control arm from Longhorn 71 a while back after I pulled mine off, and the ball joint fell out. He threw it on the bus, and I had it in very short order, for a good price. longhorn71 11-21-2006, 11:59 PM Brian, there a enough guys in Alberta to select parts from. Darren YES I AGREE WITH THAT!!!it is a pain to send stuff across the border and it sure drives the price up. longhorn71 11-22-2006, 12:01 AM +1. Says we are not allowed to post parts here anyway. One of the rules. wdsteeves 12-19-2006, 12:22 PM Iron Chief in Stony Plain deals in old chev/gm trucks. 1967j 01-07-2007, 02:30 PM heh peachland thats not too far away from myself ahah 72LoBurb 01-07-2007, 10:09 PM Iron Chief in Stony Plain deals in old chev/gm trucks. His prices seem to be high, I have bought some re-pop stuff for about the same price he wants for used...really used parts. Super Service Truck Parts takes good care of me.You won't find a better guy to deal with, than Rory. He doesn't usually have used parts, but can find the parts you want, for the most part. Z16 01-14-2007, 07:39 PM There is a place in Oyen called VS Truck Works. He only does Chevy/GMC trucks. I haven't been there, but he is a customer of mine, and I have gotten some 88-98, 73-87 stuff from him. I understand he is wrecking 2-300 trucks at any time. Let me know if you want a phone number northerngmc 01-15-2007, 03:21 PM http://www.vstruckworks.com/ , but they state 73 and newer..... I have not had any luck dealing with Iron Chief. I have had great luck with Scott's in Penhold for new and used parts. I wish we could go back to advertizing parts in here as there seems to be a lot of parts kicking around garages in Alberta, but it is not worth the hassle of selling in the 'classifieds' here. I bought a set of seats from Duece in Calgary and Classicchev and Longhorn71 used to sell parts on here. littleb 01-16-2007, 11:25 PM Hi, I m fairly new here, seem to spend more time lurking than anything. I live in Central Alberta as well and am looking for many used parts for my 51 chevy but am having troubles locating what I am looking for without spending a fortune. pissonNOS 01-16-2007, 11:27 PM what is it your looking for ? and where in alberta are you from? |
