Hello all,
I am in the process of re-wiring my 70 GMC and was considering ways to more easily wire the factory tach. Specifically I was considering pulling the battery feed off of the 12V terminal on the fuel gauge (running a jumper). Wondering if this will have any adverse effects on my gauges (specifically the tach or the fuel gauge)?
I can't see that the tach would draw a significant amount of current but the power feed in the gauge harness is a pretty small gauge (18 Gauge in my Painless harness).
Any thoughts one way or the other?
Thanks

Be carefull, I think the tach only needs the feed from the distributor (dist side of coil).

Tach requires both 12V and the feed off the coil --do not confuse them---the tach connector points are identified. I would run the tach 12V off the fuse box--12v fused with ignition on.
