My 59 has a power mustang rack front end and side mounted small block. The headers interfere with the brake pedal. The elbow on the pedal shaft just catches one of the 3 corners of the header flange. I think I can shorten up the collector and place a new flange turned a bit to miss the corner of the flange but I'm wondering about the shorty type block hugger headers I see on ebay. Will they work with the side mount and clear the steering shaft? What have you guys used with this sort of combo.?

Entourrage, if you go with the shorty block hugger headers let me know. I have a new set of ceramic coated block hugger header I never used other then just bolted on my motor and pulled the back off. I ended having to go with a set of Camaro headers so I don't need them any more. If you want them, I will give you a good deal on them.

When I mounted them I found out that block hugger header flange on the drivers hit the clam shell style motor mounts found on Camaro. I only had one of them bolted on before I found the problem. I see you have a mustang II IFS. They should work with any other style mount mounts. The headers are a generic brand I got off of e-bay. I paid $130. I sent a p.m. to you for the price I would like to get for them. Other then a few scuff marks and a very small ding they are like new. Here are a few pics.

We got a set for a big block that worked just fine with the MII front end we have. I don't have them completely installed yet but did install a couple of bolts to check for clearance. The only other problem I forsee is the steering shaft but there looks to be enough clearance for that also.

I have a big block in mine and had to redo the tubes due to the steering shaft. The block huggers wouldn't work.

That's concerning:confused: , I will have to take a closer look, but if I remember right there was plenty of room for the shaft. The way yours looks I think the block huggers that we got would still work, but it has been a couple of weeks and many beer since I have looked at it. I am not sure if I will make it down there this weekend but if I do I am going to look at it really close. If I can remember I will take the camera and shoot some pics. Thanks for the heads up though DWCSR.

Those damn beer goggles always screw up the measurements. I never measure it right when I wear mine.
