I need to paint a door and a stepside fender. Do you think those "touch up" spray guns would be up to the task? And would a 2HP 15Gal compressor be enough for the touch-up gun? I already have a 2HP 15gal compressor. And I'm not willing to buy a bigger one.

I would have to say no............you will not be able to keep it "wet" enough to get an even coat. It would be streaky/stripey. You really don't have enough compressor for a bigger gun either.

:agree:
Using a touch up gun on an area as big as a door or fender would be just like using a rattle can...
^ yeah, i only break out the touchup gun (lph50) for stuff smaller than 4 to 6 inches. fullsize guns are so much easier to use.

Check out the devilbiss SRI-W......W = wide pattern
I could paint a whole car with mine without a prob. I am not sure about your compresser though.....

Do you think I could do it with my existing compressor with a 60 gal tank added to it? I just need to do one part at a time. I don't need to shoot both parts together.
My buddy has 60 gal tank I can have. I'm thinking I can add ports and just hose them together. Good idea or bad?

You could hook the 2 tanks together, but you will probably fry the pump trying to fill them both. I have the 6hp 30 gal Craftsman compressor and the pump is only a 50% duty cycle, so mine would eat itself trying to fill the extra tank.

2HP 15gal compressor with a 60 gal aux tank....Maybe....Like 68 says you may want to let the compressor rest a few times for filling aux tank.
