Ok let me lead off by saying I am not a paint and body guy I am learning but I am in no way going to spray my own paint at this stage. So I have a few novice questions.
First
I have read that you can add a pearl coat to any color has any one tested Huggar orange with a pearl top coat.
Second
Does any one know if they make a huggar orange in a two part paint
These question may seem redundant but I thought I would start here since this is the one stop shop for all information I have needed over the past year.
I got on this mission because I saw a car with a color on it called white dimond pearl I have come to the conclusion that this color has to be on my truck plus I have always wanted a Huggar orange on my truck but I think the white pearl over a regular base would look funny so a huggar orange pearl with a white pearl top might look good but I don't know. Thanks for reading this lenghty post and I hope to read your expert opinions.

Yes you can add pearl to the clear coat. If you add it to the color it will get covered up and you will not see it unless you put a ton of pearl in it....with the cost of pearl, this is not a good idea. I have painted dozens of cars/ trucks using pearls in the clear. What you do is paint the color as usual, put 2-3 medium coats of clear with the pearl in it (you don't need a lot of it so be careful) then follow it up with 2-3 coats of clear over that to protect the pearl. I have never done white or silver pearl over orange but I have done gold over orange and yellow over orange. The color I have on my truck now is a House of Kolor Tangelo which is almost the same as yellow over orange.
I have done blue, green, red and purple over black and over white. I did blue over a lavender that blew people away. I did a green over yellow that actually looked kinda cool. I also did a red over blue which I did not care for.
You have to be careful painting pearls and treat them almost like you would a candy. I do a 75% pass to avoid getting any tiger stripes which will ruin the effect bigtime and make the car look like a POS. Make sure you use a good quality gun, make sure to stir it very well and to strain the pearl when mixing it in the clear and then again putting the pearl/clear in the gun. This will prevent pearl clumps from splattering onto the vehicle, trust me it sucks
If you want to see what yellow over orange looks like (or close to it) check out my link below on my truck progress.

Thanks big mike I have seen the tangelo in person I have buddy that we are putting his 66 Mustang together right now and that is the color he painted it I like that color but I want a darker or more red orange then the tangelo. You did bring something to my attention though as I gather pearl comes in diffrent colors if that is the case I guess I will have to find out what color pearl is in the white dimond paint to see if it might cover the orange well or not. As for the painting process I want this to turn out well so I will have one of my friends paint the truck that has the experiance and knowledge. And I would like to see that gremlin cdowns if and when you get the pictures thanks

If you put the pearl in the base coat, the color is much easier to match if any repair is needed later than trying to repair a tri-coat. I will be paint the top to my Blazer in a pearl white and have no choice but to put the pearl in the clear. White is to strong of a pigment to put pearl directly in and make it look decent.
