What do I need and what works best to kill the surface rust on the inside of my doors? I have everything out windows regulators ect.. and I'm going to cut the inner bottoms off and replace so I will have more of an opening than just the normal holes to get in and do some sanding. what I don't know is there something that you can just spray inside them that would kill it.

I had some brush on rust converter that I tried on my cab floor and it seemed to work ok (turned blue and had a good feel to it but when I skimmed over a few areas with bondo sanded it and primed it, the bondo peeled off. Somehow I didn't get a good bond and I'm thinking it was because of the converter I used? Maybe it wasn't the right kind? Any ideas? thanks

Have your doors dipped if you want to kill the rust inside of the panels.

Why not use POR 15 or another product like it

there are some metal strippers around the country that can dip your doors in some sort of acid and it eats all of the rust and then you repair your doors and coat the inside the best you can just like the factory did 30+ years ago and they lasted this long. We just had a complete 59 chevy truck dipped and a 66 impala is about to go too.

As a note on the rust convertors: when you are ready for fillers or paint, sand with 240 and scuff up the surface, then use a commercial water base cleaner, available at the paint store and clean all of the convertor off and gone. Then stuff will stick.

keep the drain holes cleaned out once your done and you won't have to worry about rust
