Shify,
After a viral attack, whenever I turn on my computer, it says that it can't find "msvcr71.dll". I've downloaded that dll file, and have placed it in my windows\system32 folder, but it is still saying that it can't find it. It also acts like there is a problem starting "yop.exe" (though I am using that right now so I don't know what the problem was).

I don't necessarily see anything wrong with your system....so, let me ask you this:

There is a feature called "System REstore" in Windows XP. it will let you "roll back" your computer to a previous setup, with the previous system configuration. It will not have an impact on many of your files, but it will restore any "system" files and settings to a time BEFORE the virus installed itself on your system.

If this is a possibility, we just need to roll back to a day or two BEFORE the virus hit.

To use System Restore, go into the Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories, System and chcoose System Restore. Choose "restore my computer to an earlier time", then click next. You will be presented with a Calender - the bold dates in the calendar are dates that have "checkpoints" you can roll back to. Choose one that occured previous to getting the virus.

NOTE: You can always return to today! (roll forward again), so if anything is seriously screwed up by rolling back, rolling forward again is still an option :)
