I bought my '70 K5 back in March from a guy who primered the entire exterior, including the top. From the spots where the primer had flaked off, I can see paint underneath so I can only assume that there is at least some paint over the entire truck
I want to take the primer off.
I don't want to use a paint stripper because I don't want it to take all the paint off down to bare metal. What can I do?
Thanks!

I would try to wipe it off with a rag and laquer thinner. I have bought some body panels from 2 diff. trucks that were primered. The thinner worked great. I am pretty sure they were done with rattle can primer though, yours may be too. If they used the good 2K stuff, happy sanding.

use the primer as a guide coat and block the shizzel out of the K-5
there is nothing wrong with straight looking panels
this way you will know where the highs and the lows are

Thanks guys! Went to Checker Auto Parts and Advance Auto Parts yesterday to get some answers and both places told me I'm S.O.L. I knew there had to be something I could do. Just had to ask the right people. I'll try those ideas out and let you know what happens. I'll try and take some before/after pics too.
Thanks
