My friend's computer is locking up with the "Blue Screen of Death". It's a 6 month old Dell and he's getting a "physical memory dump" message. How can he fix it?

Need one of two things:

1) A photo of the blue screen message.
2) A typed version of the blue screen message - everything. But, with most emphasis on the "0x00000000" number that shows on the screen and any driver (xxxxxx.sys or xxxxxx.dll or whatever) that is given as well.

In the meantime, your friend should run through the Dell diagnostics. To do this, have them reboot the computer - when the "DELL" logo shows up, it should say to hit "F12" in the top right hand corner for "boot menu" or "boot options" or something similar (normally in top right), he should do so and choose "Diagnostics" from the boot list. Have your friend run through all of the hardware tests. If any of them fail, have him write down the code and call Dell support for more advice. If none fail, then we will continue running through troubleshooting.

I am out of town all weekend starting tomorrow around 4pm. If you need my cell number to get instant help on sat'day or sunday, please ask J or Liz for it, I'm on the emergency contact list. Otherwise, I'll get back to you on Monday :)
