why not wagon wheels?

There are so many wheels out there that cost just a bit more and look SOOOOOOOOOO much better. Wagon wheels do the job if you have nothing else and you are going to use it as a farm truck....but if you are going to use it on the street find something else.

Here's a comparison... kind of???

Rally VS wagon. You can get a brand new set of wagons with center caps for around $130 new. I spent about $360 and I got my rallys with center caps (plastic) and metal trim rings shipped to my door off of ebay.

I like em both, but I dropped a little more coin for something I thought was a little better. The truck had "wagons" on it for the first 9 years I had it.

i am looking for a vintage mud truck look but still want to be a driver and wagon wheels are cheap and not to flashy i figure white cause it would bring out the other white options and i will be running 33" tires and the rallys look to plain jain....its not a show truck but a DD and a weekend warrior but if ya''ll think rallys are better looking i will look into them

How about my Mickey Thompson Classic II's? I have 33's on them and they don't look too flashy. Click on the link to see them... I have some white wagon wheels as well 15 x 10 but decided to go with a little polished aluminum instead.

Now I will say.......I will admit to owning a set of white wagon wheels one time......I know.....I'm sorry and yes its true...........I still have them. I currently use them in my shop to hang air hoses and water hoses on!!!!!! I bought them in the 80's when they were popular!!!! OK...OK.....enough ragging about wagon wheels.

I did decide to change them up once when they were on a yard truck so I put some trim rings on them and painted them argent siver to look lile ralleys.
They actually looked pretty good!!!!

Yessir. Or you could get some rally wheels (in white) around the same cost or not much more I bet.

Really you can do what ever you want. It's your truck. If you ask enough you will get all kinds of answers. If those are in your budget and you don't want to consider any other rims then go for it.

Here is the pic of my 15x10 white wagon wheels. I only mounted one tire so I had to splice two pictures to get the full effect. I decided to go with the MT's instead due to my tire width 10.5". These are 33" tires on a 68 K-10 with no lift. good luck.

Hay check out my avatar. The green and white has them. I love them. 25 bucks apeice when i bought them in 98. If something goes wrong who cares buy another. I am not a fan of fancy wheels. To me spending more than say 75 dollars on a wheel is a waste. Rather spend the money on gas and restoration parts. Just my thought.

I am guessing you have a 69-70? Right. Well there will be a small problem if you use those wheels. The hole in the center where it fits over the hub on the front and rear axles is to small. My naighbor had a 68 and he was the repo guy. Well every so often when we would get a 99- up gm truck or suv they would have wheels we like on them so we would take one off to see what they looked like on the 68. Not a single one fit. We even bought a couple of spares off the same years. Same problem. Bolt pattern is the same just the center hole is a smaller diamater. You would either have to take the wheels to a machine shop and have the hole oppened up or pull your rear axles and front hubs to have them shaved down. Sorry.

i know its a 3" hole and i need a 3 1/2" hole but i can get them machinced cheap and it should be fairly easy to do a 1/4" all the way around but is it safe??

1/4" machined off wont hurt. Glad you know of a place to have them machined reasonably. Around OKC all the machine shops want big$$$ for any machine work. Spent almost $70 to have the torque converter holes redrilled in a 429 ford flex plate. From the photo shop I think it looks really good.

I would be careful with the backspacing though, a lot of new trucks and deep backspacing/offest but my MT's only have 3.5" or so.

im afraid the newwer wheels wont sit out far enough but i like the wagon wheels and roughly what size are those tires cause it looks like 31-31" tire i will be running 33"s on 10" wide rim and 4-6"lift when its all installed

You shouldn't need that much lift if any to run 33's.

those new z71 rims have somewhere around 5 or 6 inches of BS IIRC.. just for sh*ts and giggles i tried the stock rims from my 98 z71 on my 68.. i thin ktheyre about the same size.. and idk about the front, but the back rims came no where NEAR fitting.. you couldnt even bolt the rim to the hub the tire was hitting so bad.. just my experience
