I know it's not my pickup but hoping some expert is watching. Here's the problem....Have stock horseshoe shifter, changed to 700R4 but didn't connect rod/cable to steering column. The rotating part of the column moved on me and kept me from taking the key out....thinking it was something else, I drove the car a couple more times and subsequently lost my turn signals..then when stepping on the brake peddle, the front parking light as well as both signal indicators come on with the rear lights.....Is this a ground problem in the upper steering column or will I need to pull the column....

This is going to sound stupid, but that never stops me
I used to have a 68 Camaro, and the lights would go berserk if even one of the bulbs were burnt out, or didn’t have a good connection.
I would start by checking EVERY bulb with an ohm meter and make sure every socket is not corroded.
I almost replaced the entire wiring harness on the car and it was driving me INSANE!
I’m not sure if this will help or not, but it sound exactly like the problem I had.

front parking lights and inside indicators coming on... that sounds like your 4 ways are turned on, but with a bad flasher.

Longhorn you were right on. I would have torn the car in half before I would have thought of the emergency flashers.....Your a genius!
