View Full Version : Remember me?
centsless 10-12-2006, 06:46 PM Since the recent changes, the site does not remember my login. Everytime I leave and return, I have to login again. Sometimes while I am on the site, it logs me out. Is anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas why it is happenning?
Bob
It's a cookie issue. The fix is to delete all teh cookies for he site manually, then login adn use only http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/ do not use the www. in front and it should work properly.
shifty 10-12-2006, 07:31 PM There is a shortcut to do this:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/faq.php?faq=vb_user_maintain
See the third red topic. Click on the word "HERE" that is underlined and the forum will whisk you away to a magic page that will eat your funky cookies for lunch ;)
Here's a shortcut to clear cookies if you don't want to click through or can't find the link I'm talking about: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/login.php?do=logout&logouthash=43ecb69342b45fa0d4024c69fe1d75e4
Enjoy :)
centsless 10-12-2006, 07:33 PM Thanks guys!!
centsless 10-19-2006, 09:40 PM Works fine now!!! Thanks again for the help!!
Everytime I shut my computer down (every night) I clear everything in my IE and my Firefox. I also use my zone alarm to clear cache after I do that. I re-log in only when I want to post. When I am logged in if I dont have any activity here for a bit...off surfing the web in other areas etc etc, this site logs me off. Not a big deal...just weird.
Make sure the remember me box is checked, otherwise I'm not real sure what would cause that. I'll check into it though.
Thanks, Josh
Hey Josh its really no big deal, I hadnt ever read on the board that it happened to anyone else till centsless mentioned it so I figured I would "pile on" :) , but if you do figure something out lemme know....thanks.
cableguy0 10-22-2006, 02:47 AM your clearing of everything everynight is why it cant remember you. it has to keep a cookie to remember your name and pw if you clear you internet stuff everynight it cannot remember your name
That part I understand cableguy0. But lets say after I post this message I hear the refrigerator calling my name and on the way back to the computer room the TV has something that catches my attention for a half hour. When I sit back down to use the puter and click to the next thread or forum here that I want to view, I will be logged off. Im still at the site I just have to log in again if I want to post.

Try this. Mine was doing the same thing as yours. I would be logged in and when I would try to post, I would notice I wasn't logged in. I have not had any troubles since I did this.
Bob
CG if you do not have the remember me checked when you log in. The site will default log out at I believe it is 16 minutes. So if you walk away and do a few things and come back it will had logged you out.
BTW pile it on sir ;) we have no other way of knowing the lil things, unless it happens to us.
Ok Liz you are No.1, I logged in and checked remember me, and I went off to watch the Seahawks get their rear handed to em. When I came back to the board...whaalaaa...Im still logged in. Thanks, :)
nandress 11-03-2006, 03:23 AM Ok, so this is all good advice and makes a little sense...
But why will it log me off while I am writing up a post?
Granted I know I am a long winded one, but I don't think I very often go over 16 minutes typing up a post yet half the time I will be logged off by the time I hit the "Submit Reply" button. It is very annoying when this happens, but I will try coming in the recommended ways.
Hey nandress, it did the same thing to me until I took Liz's advice, now it doesnt do it anymore. When I did a long winded response that took me a while to type I would copy it first before I clicked on the post reply button. That way if I was logged off I could just log back in and paste it into the message box.
