I'm hoping to tap into the wealth of knowledge here... I bought a delivery truck that has a fiberglass box. The sticker advertising the previous company was peeled off, but still shows (very obvious). The paint on the box is about 5 years old (2002 model). Now the problem: I've tried wet sanding with a 600 grit and using a buffing compound (starting w/ mediuim) to rejuvinate the chalky surface, but I can see pigment left behind from the buffing compound. I don't recall the brand of compound, but the color is slighltly tan, which is the hazy color left behind. I've tried to remove with a hand glaze, but no luck.
Does anyone have a solution (or possible solution)? The surface is relatively glossy and most of the last traces of the previous advertisment label is gone, but the change in color is not something I would like to live with. I forgot to mention earlier, I am using a 6" machine buffer for the job.
