If any of you guys ever frequent the board that are in and around the Houston area and would like some bodywork done let me know. I can work with you as your money permits. For instance you think you have enough money to get your fender patched one weekend. We do that part and you pay for that, put it in primer and then when you have time or money permits you have the next piece done. That way your truck or project is not in bodyshop prison. You just want to have your cab cut and rockers, floors, corners and bodyworked and nothing else, I can do that too. I know several of you do not have the time or money to just drop one off at the bodyshop and tell them to go for it. We all have famalies and obligations to tend to but love our trucks. If I can help, contact me here.

Man I wish I lived in the Houston area because I would totally take you up on your offer. I am new to this site and don't know a whole lot of people but I am looking for a decently priced body and paint guy here in AZ. I figured since you have been here for quite some time you might be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks! Billy

Well you are a little far away but I can walk you through some processes if you would like. First of all decide what direction you want your project to go. Stock, modified etc. Stick with the plan as much as possilbe. Disassemble, bag and tag all of your parts and screws and such. Take as many pics as possible. Determine what parts are worth repairing and what is more cost effective to replace. For instance, if your core support is rusted, it would probably less expensive for you to replace with basic tools instead of cutting, patching, welding and refinishing if you do not have all of the tools or know how. Same with the fenders, the aftermarket fenders do not fit the best but you could probably spend some time slotting holes and such instead of doing bodywork for a lot less money. If you need more tips let me know. Pics of your project would help too.

Wish somebody would make this offer in southern california. Seems all the body guys I have talked to, don't even want to work on something as old as my '67 burb.

I can do both, full on custom show or daily driver. I have several options I can talk to you about. You can pm me here and I will give you guys my personal email to communicate. I just hear so many stories of vehicles in bodyshop prison or some shops do not even want to touch these types of projects. The good news is I have a regular good paying job so I do not have to knock anybody's head off. Something I enjoy doing to relax me and help fellow board members alike.

I could sure use some bodywork help in Birmingham/Montgomery AL.

I'd offer up what I can for the help, or be willing to help someone on their project, if they are willing to give me some pointers.

i'd like to gain an idea about what it might take. some i can do, other stuff i wouldn't mind if someone else did.
i need rockers replaced, cab corners, kick panels, front fender cups, a door skin, tailgate work, and bedsides worked over. also advice on whether something is too far gone and should just be replaced...
i'd prefer to have it all done in one go, as well as paint (factory two-tone.)

depending on costs, i might also consider some major custom work (cab stretch through the doors.)

of course, i don't expect you to give me any cost info here. I'm getting ready for a major engine/trans swap, then bodywork afterward.

I think we all wish we could find somebody like you in our neck of the woods. I will work weeks and weeks on the drive train and the suspension. I can hang the sheetmetal but make me stay away from the finishing tools.( insert Bad image here ) he-he
