March 24th 9:00am til.......
Date of the event has been confirmed and everybody is welcomed to come. All I ask is to confirm you are coming by the 17th, so I know how much food to buy.

71SWBChevy 10-25-2006, 11:59 AM Just checked my school calender and spring break is the 12-16 so as long as its not on the 17th I am good, either of the other two dates and I should be able to make it. I am just guessing but the 24th would probably be better for me, the 31st is probably about when the park will be reopening for its summer hours and I may have to work.
Putter 10-25-2006, 02:34 PM The youngest has a birthday on the 18th, so the party could go either way....so I chose 31st.
That kid has a nice shirt!!!!
yeah, she loves the shirt
She likes to point at it and say "trucks".
LUV2XCLR8 10-25-2006, 02:40 PM I may miss this one :( The 24th is my ONLY option :whine:
Listen guys, I'm not opposed to putting it on the weekend after Easter if everybody thinks that will be better. I know the later we do it the weather will be better.
SO APRIL 14TH IS THE 4th OPTION Sorry, can't edit the poll
71SWBChevy 10-25-2006, 02:46 PM If we move into april that makes me a maybe, it depends on if I am still working at the park or not in the spring. But I should be able to get off any weekend as long as I give my boss plunty of notice.
Pickles 10-25-2006, 03:10 PM I just voted for the later date because the weather, it doesn't matter to me if it is the 24th. Whatever is best for all. I will have vacation time if I need it and only a little more than an hour drive time.
Pickles
Ron 586 10-25-2006, 06:55 PM Put me in no matter when. I will go along with what fits the most people.
GMan69 10-25-2006, 08:43 PM We'll try to be there no matter which date.
Palf70Step 10-26-2006, 05:40 AM Yellow69.....Ask and yee shall receive....I added the extra date to your poll.
I have trouble planning for next week and you're talking about the spring?
Thanks Bill, I really appreciate it.
Don't forget you and your wife can come up for a weekend in Nashville. :)
Palf70Step 10-26-2006, 12:49 PM I'm checkin my schedule
LUV2XCLR8 10-26-2006, 03:32 PM Yellow69.....Ask and yee shall receive....I added the extra date to your poll.
:but: If I have already voted I can't vote again :hmm:
Let it be known that Craig wants to change his vote to April 14th
Anybodyelse want to change?
Putter 10-26-2006, 04:50 PM Maybe. I should be good either way.
We will just be careful to plan Chickenwing's "WING DING" accordingly, so there isn't too much back-to-back travel going on for the out-of-towners!
LUV2XCLR8 10-26-2006, 06:36 PM Let it be known that Craig wants to change his vote to April 14th
Anybodyelse want to change?
NO, It originally gave you multiple choices, I'm just saying that is one,
overall I prefer the March one, after that you run the risk of shows :(
I looked at this years Car Show Schedule and the only thing that might conflict is the Memphis Super Chevy Show. It was on April 21-23 this year. So hopefully they'll keep it on the same weekend.
dcpetty 10-27-2006, 05:43 PM Doesn't matter, I plan on attending. My project should be finished by then.
LUV2XCLR8 10-27-2006, 05:58 PM Hmmm, well here is the dates for MEMPHIS (http://www.superchevyshow.com/images/2007%20Super%20Chevy%20Show%20Schedule%209-30-06.pdf)
Have not talked to TIM yet, if I am helping him again this year I can
do 3/24 or 4/14, if he doesn't need my help this year 4/14 is out :(
sorry, linky doesn't work
but you guys decide I really don't care. I'll do it any weekend. If everybody can make it on April 14th then I'll make that the date. As long as Drew and Margaret have enough time to ask off.
LUV2XCLR8 10-28-2006, 12:15 PM sorry, linky doesn't work
Does for me
well, it doesn't for me and I bet my dad can beat up your dad
I see it, I just had to get rid of all that crap at the end of the link and go to the main page.
LUV2XCLR8 10-28-2006, 10:09 PM well, it doesn't for me and I bet my dad can beat up your dad
Well, my avatar is cooler than yours :hm:
68Stepbed 10-28-2006, 11:19 PM I have trouble planning for next week and you're talking about the spring?
:agree: That's about the way I am.
Does anyone have any info about the nats in 07? I heard Charlie was selling the show rights. After the flop it was last year, I'd be suprised if he has it this year. :whine:
LUV2XCLR8 10-29-2006, 12:18 AM I did not think last year was a flop, just not as well advertised, but ....
I liked the Maggie Valley setting alot better than I did the PF version ;)
there are no updates or dates for the show on his website
Ron 586 10-29-2006, 09:53 AM Last year at Maggie valley was my first Nat's. The experience was great. In spite of rain, and not as large of participant turnout as some previous events it wasn't short on substance. My experience was further heighten by the meeting of board members from CGITC as well as 67-72 and MOT. The camaraderie of the truck crowd is second to none. I have already made plans to be there in 07 and even got the wife interested in going. (and that's no small feat) So hopefully the powers that be will see fit to put the show on and do what ever it takes to make it a success.
Ron 586 11-08-2006, 04:07 PM It's never to early to start a party but it's way to early to let this thread die. We have a reputation to live up to so let's get the B.S. started.
I wasn't going to let it die, but i think I'm going to make an executive decision and pick a date. I'm leaning toward April 14th, just because it's a little later and no one has said NO to it. This way Margaret and Drew can ask off and it's not on the weekend of any major shows in TN, AL, MS, or KY. At least that's looking at last year's Car Show schedule.
Ron 586 11-09-2006, 12:06 AM Sometimes ya just grab the bull by the horns and do it. I picked a date and it all came together and I think yours will too. It should be a little warmer than last year so if that is it go for it. So ok guys and gals here we go. We had almost 600 posts on Luvs get together and 24 or 25 pages. Let's git-er-done with a new record.
19GMC63 11-09-2006, 08:24 AM I might come to this, all depends if my truck is in running/driving condition by that time, it should be... hopefully.
I don't care about the date, anytime will work, plus i'm not 100% sure if I can go.
Ron 586 11-09-2006, 09:09 AM Welcome 19GMC63 from West Tennessee. Your truck running or not don't matter to this crew. Just drive whatever will get you there or ride a bicycle we don't care. The main thing is to show up. We have a few members in the greater Nashville area so you might be neighbors with one you can never tell. Anyway Yellow69 hows it coming with three projects to work on? If you keep it up your back yard will look like mine. Later.
woodridge 11-09-2006, 10:01 AM [ I'm leaning toward April 14th, just because it's a little later and no one has said NO to it. .
NO There, I said it. JK.
Wow David, that wasn't very nice :)
Okay, well here goes----April 14th it is. I hope that everybody can make it and I hope this gives enough time for people to ask off and make plans.
Ron-the projects are going okay. I've gotten about 5 calls on the burb, and one looker. No takers as of right now. Almost got the whole front end of the blazer off, only thing on is the hood and fenders. Got one side of the rear brakes off and torn down. Can't seem to get the driver's side rear tire off and I'm fighting with the Air Compressor and Regulator. Last but not least, the silver one is still blowing fuses on the electric fan, luckily it's not been warm and really doesn't need it running.
19GMC63-Where are you located at??
19GMC63 11-09-2006, 04:13 PM In Fairview, just SW from Nashville right off of I-40. Fairview is in the NW part of Williamson County.
71SWBChevy 11-09-2006, 06:43 PM Ok so April 14th, i will try to get off but since I don't start working until April 1st I can't swear, as long as they have hired atleast one more guy by then I can have the weekend off, otherwise I will have to sit this one out.
woodridge 11-09-2006, 07:54 PM
Wow David, that wasn't very nice :)
:o , Not:lol:
Typically, the good events are always on a drill weekend and unfortunately that is a mandatory drill and I can't get out of it.
This time next year It won't be a problem.:)
19GMC63-I know where Fairview is, I have a buddy of mine that I used to work with that is a police officer there.
Drew-JUST BE THERE!!!!!!!
David-Well that sucks I wanted you to be there.
LUV2XCLR8 11-10-2006, 07:05 PM David-Well that sucks I wanted you to be there.
Well now there's 2 of us, I'm out for the 14th also
Okay, hang on I'll get a better date. Because I want you guys there.
woodridge 11-10-2006, 08:59 PM At this time any of the other dates are OK
Ron 586 11-10-2006, 09:19 PM After going back through the posts the only one with only one day that he can make it is Luv and that is on the 24th. The question now would be has anybody got a problem with the 24th of March. So far no one has been opposed so now is the time. It all comes down to trying to make it work and sometimes the best you can do is just not good enough. Yellow 69 next time grab a smaller bull!!!
Ron 586 11-13-2006, 02:00 AM Yellow 69 lil buddy I don't know what to think now. I can make any date on the poll and will when it is decided. I did go ahead and vote for the march 24th date and was surprised to see that only 6 people have voted. I hope that it works out for all of us to be there. On a positive note when I mentioned the cookout the other night my wife said "we're going to that right". I replied yep we sure are. If I can get her truck put together she'll be hooked. Later.
Pickles 11-13-2006, 07:23 AM the 24th is good with me
Margaret
71SWBChevy 11-13-2006, 11:49 AM I voted for the 24th also but if you were to have it on the 31st that should be fine for me as well the 24th would just be a little better.
Okay, the 24th it is. That's my final answer :)
Hope everybody can make it. Stay tuned for more.
Ron 586 11-13-2006, 09:25 PM Well that sounds great. I'm kicking some things around already on my summer cookout. Will be getting with a few of you guys on what I'm wanting to do. But for now we'll concentrate on yours in the spring.
well, I thought about it and I figured that the later I do it the more of a chance it effects the Maggie Valley show. The last thing I want is people having to decide whether to come to my house or go to that show. So I'll put some time between the two.
Ron 586 11-13-2006, 09:56 PM Have you heard if there is going to be a Maggie valley this year. I sure hope so as I already have my wife and son counting on us going down to visit. I'll take it anyway I can get it.
71SWBChevy 11-19-2006, 08:02 PM So your sure its the 24th now? I am making plans to go see some friends in IL one weekend in March and want to make sure that I reserve your weekend for the cookout, I mean how can I resist free food only 30-40 minutes away?
Ron 586 11-19-2006, 10:53 PM I hope that it is set for sure. It will be 1 day short of a year since I attended my 1st cookout at Yellow 69's. Looking forward to it.
Yes, it will be the 24th guys.
Ron 586 11-20-2006, 08:52 AM My goal this year is to not have to wear a sling. Not be out of my mind on pain pills. Not have to have someone drive me up there. And the number 1 goal this year is to.......DRESS WARMER.
71SWBChevy 11-20-2006, 11:13 PM haha was it cold last year?
And baring death or dismemberment I will be there Bryan, and in the case of dismemberment I will still try to get there ;)
Ron 586 11-21-2006, 08:22 AM Can't use dismemberment. Last year I showed up with left shoulder in a sling, 5 days after surgery. Just put all the pieces in a bag and come on.
Pickles 11-21-2006, 10:01 AM LOL ,sounds like Ron
71SWBChevy 11-21-2006, 12:11 PM Can't use dismemberment. Last year I showed up with left shoulder in a sling, 5 days after surgery. Just put all the pieces in a bag and come on.
:haha: Is it ok if I throw them in a cooler? Momma always told me if I lob a body part off to wrap it in plastic and put it in a cooler, more likely to be able to reattach it that way!
Gotta listen to my momma ya know
I'm trying to figure out what kind of childhood you had when you have a conversation with your mother about attempting to save a detached limb. :)
Ron 586 11-22-2006, 09:40 AM I'm trying to figure out what kind of childhood you had when you have a conversation with your mother about attempting to save a detached limb. :)
Mom would have whipped my butt for cutting it off and told me to sit down over there while I sew it back on.
Brian, check out what's left of my transmissiom. It's posted on the party part one thread. It is broken in to and still pulled and made a full pass.
Ron, I saw it. Amazing!!!!! Never seen that before.
LUV2XCLR8 11-26-2006, 07:45 AM Got it marked on my calender, hoping to be driving there, only time will tell :(
Ron 586 11-26-2006, 08:45 AM Just call me an old softy but this cookout marks my 1 year anniversary of meeting board members for the first time. A lot has happened in the last year and I'm glad I was around to watch and help make it happen. Luv and Yellow were the first two that I met in person and on line for that matter. Thanks guys for helping me get my feet wet. (all the way to my knees)
71SWBChevy 11-27-2006, 01:52 PM I'm trying to figure out what kind of childhood you had when you have a conversation with your mother about attempting to save a detached limb. :)
You would be surprised!
I have been working on cars for as long as I can remember, been driving tractors and ATVs for as long as I can remember, started cutting tobacco at 11, oddly enough I have never broken a bone:crazy: the worst thing that has ever happen to me is I cut my thumb open at the base all the way to the bone, of all the stupid stuff I have done injury free guess what I cut myself with...
A Fisher Price toy, no lie, its pretty sad I know.
LUV2XCLR8 11-29-2006, 03:27 PM haha was it cold last year?
I wore shorts :D
71SWBChevy 11-29-2006, 03:37 PM I wore shorts :D
so all that tells me is that you were present, I was wanting to know what the weather was like, not the clothing worn by crazy craig
LUV2XCLR8 11-29-2006, 03:40 PM It was typical TN weather ;)
71SWBChevy 11-29-2006, 03:43 PM haha that doesn't help a whole lot either, I assume TN weather is like KY weather in that case in March it could have been anywhere from 0-90 degrees with varying degrees of snow, rain, hail, sleet, or a number of other things falling from the sky!
LUV2XCLR8 11-29-2006, 03:46 PM Exactly :D
Ron 586 11-29-2006, 09:10 PM Another thing about Tennessee weather, it don't matter what it was last year, month, yesterday, or an hour ago. It is like my wife's mind, subject to change without notice.
LUV2XCLR8 11-30-2006, 03:37 PM :haha: @ Ron
like my wife's mind, subject to change without notice.
if yours is like mine Ron, you can throw mood in there also. :)
Ron 586 11-30-2006, 11:14 PM Yep that too. But she takes pills for that.
71SWBChevy 12-01-2006, 02:49 AM Another thing about Tennessee weather, it don't matter what it was last year, month, yesterday, or an hour ago. It is like my wife's mind, subject to change without notice.
Make that any females mind, why are women so fickle:lol:
