LUV2XCLR8 12-30-2006, 10:47 AM I just hope I'm riding in any kind of a classic and not my Ford :whine: 5150 12-30-2006, 10:55 PM You drove a Chevy last year woodridge 12-30-2006, 11:00 PM If I get my ton far enough along I may drive it. LUV2XCLR8 12-30-2006, 11:10 PM You drove a Chevy last year That was hers, she might not be coming ;) LUV2XCLR8 12-30-2006, 11:10 PM If I get my ton far enough along I may drive it. Do u not answer ur phone? see ten 01-15-2007, 05:56 PM I just booked the last non smoking room at the Comfort Inn. As of right now we are planning on heading up thursday after work. Probably going to leave the Interstate about Loudon and make a pass through Deal's Gap and come on over through Cherokee. We still haven't decided which truck to bring.:metal: 5150 01-15-2007, 06:05 PM Are you kidding me??? The last room? LUV2XCLR8 01-15-2007, 06:59 PM Are you kidding me??? The last room? Just checked, he got the last room @ $79.99, they still have King's available @ $89.99 Ron 586 01-15-2007, 08:26 PM That's why I jumped in when I did. Last year nobody knew what was going on and we got lucky. If you want a room there I wouldn't wait any longer.. see ten 01-15-2007, 09:02 PM Actually we got a King with fridge and microwave. They claimed it was the last one that was nonsmoking but you never know. LUV2XCLR8 01-15-2007, 09:49 PM Actually we got a King with fridge and microwave. They claimed it was the last one that was nonsmoking but you never know. There are NO TWIN bed rooms left, and only a handfull of KING beds left, of course if you can handle a Smoking room they still have plenty there ;) http://www.choicehotels.com/ires/en-US/html/RoomAvailability?hotel=NC098&sid=GFqNi.rTbi0gxwag.1&sarea=84657&sname=Maggie+Valley&sstate=NC&scountry=US&sradius=40.23&slat=35.5136&slon=-83.0728&schain=CI&exp=&scity=Maggie+Valley&sort=&month=5&day=4&depart_month=5&depart_day=6&nadult=1&nchild=0 :ho: 5150 01-31-2007, 10:11 PM Just got off the phone with my dad. Coincidentally, he knows a guy who has 3 cabins in Maggie Valley. He's going to check on them and see what the availability is for them. ANYBODY INTERESTED IN SHARING A CABIN OR ROOM THAT WEEKEND?????? My wife said she's going to sit this one out. Also, looks like Charlie Cobble sold the show to a Jeff and Melissa Cody. Still can't find an official website for the show or anything. woodridge 01-31-2007, 10:51 PM Just got my room, had to take a smoker. Ron 586 01-31-2007, 11:25 PM Congrats on getting a room. I just hope that my crew don't get sick on me. Mom has not been top shelf lately and I'm starting to get concerned. LUV2XCLR8 02-01-2007, 06:18 PM All of my vacations were approved today so I am in :metal: 5150 02-01-2007, 11:51 PM You going to come with your better half or alone? woodridge 02-02-2007, 08:04 AM Not sure who is coming with me, my newest grandbaby is due the following week so a lot hinges on the arrival. Could be one to four. Pickles 02-02-2007, 08:07 AM sorry to hear that Ron, we need to keep you and your family in our prayers. tell mom to get well soon. Ron 586 02-02-2007, 09:45 AM Thanks Pickles. We just take it day by day around here. Hope all is well where you're at. LUV2XCLR8 02-02-2007, 04:46 PM You going to come with your better half or alone? If you mean me, the jury is still out, Sorry I will probably not know till that week sixtysevengmc 02-05-2007, 09:36 AM won't be driving the GMC, but I'll definitely be there LUV2XCLR8 02-05-2007, 03:23 PM  You will have a blast ;) see ten 02-13-2007, 08:37 PM Here's a little preview of the Tail Of the Dragon (Deal's Gap). I'm still planning on riding over and making a pass through sometime Saturday afternoon. If anyone wants to follow us over just give us a shout. We're actually going to come through the Gap on Thursday evening on our way to the show. The quality of this video isn't that great but you'll get the idea. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Xl7ZxWivtmQ Ron 586 02-13-2007, 10:07 PM I could see how power steering could come in handy on this trip. You run this road with the lifted green truck? woodridge 02-13-2007, 10:18 PM I did it a few years ago in an extended cab, fun but even driving I got a little woozy. woodridge 02-13-2007, 10:22 PM I haven't gone back through the thread and looked but is anyone taking any parts this year? 5150 02-13-2007, 10:58 PM thanks Asa, Mandi said she was getting sick just watching the video with me. Looks like fun. Have to see what the plans are but it sounds like fun. I guess then we will have to come back and all get together for our BIG meal. see ten 02-14-2007, 04:46 PM Ron I am torn as to what truck I want to run through the gap. The K10 has a manual trans so I can kind of use the engine to slow er down. But the flip side of the coin is a lot of lift, no swaybars and tires with tractor like tread. The C10 on the other hand has been lowered and has wide low profile tires as well as a swaybar from a ton truck and a quick ratio steering box. I may drive both trucks through there on Thursday night and just come back in the C10 Saturday with the group. Or.......I could bring one truck and the 350Z along.......Who knows. 5150 02-14-2007, 04:54 PM I'll drive the 350Z if you want me to see ten 02-14-2007, 05:44 PM Bryan you would have better luck getting wheel time in one of the trucks. With the wife and I just working a mile from the house we have to look for reasons to drive these toys. Believe me I am always trying to come up with somewhere to go to drive that Z. 5150 02-14-2007, 10:19 PM Hey, I'll take what I can get :) NuBomb 02-15-2007, 10:38 PM Yellow 69 - Did you ever find out if there is a cabin available. If the wife doesn't want to go, I might be interested. I haven't booked a room yet. Let me know. 5150 02-16-2007, 01:35 AM Still checking. I checked the mileage from the cabin to the fairgrounds and it was about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Pretty sure that idea is out for me. After driving almost 5 hours to get there, I really don't want to be making that drive several times over the weekend. I'll probably be getting a room at the Comfort Inn. Let me know if you are interested. NuBomb 02-16-2007, 12:31 PM I'll talk to the wife this weekend. LUV2XCLR8 02-16-2007, 02:59 PM I haven't gone back through the thread and looked but is anyone taking any parts this year? I am, assuming there is a interest in them before I pack them and take them. NuBomb 02-18-2007, 10:23 PM Yellow 69 - the wife wants to go, so I'll be looking for a room somewhere around there. She wants to relax and do some antique shopping. I guess the comfort inn is out since the rooms are slim picking. We may not stay right in Maggie Valley, but somewhere close. 5150 02-18-2007, 10:30 PM No problem Nubomb, Well, I guess I'm still looking for a roommate for the weekend. I want to stay at the Comfort Inn. There are double beds left so if anybody wants to bunk up for the weekend let me know. LUV2XCLR8 02-21-2007, 05:15 PM Hmmmmm, running out of time and money to get mine drivable, I may trailer it :( Ron 586 02-21-2007, 07:13 PM Hmmmmm, running out of time and money to get mine drivable, I may trailer it :( Trailer what? The JimmY? LUV2XCLR8 02-21-2007, 07:22 PM Yeppers, I don't have enough road miles on it yet to even attempt Bryan's, but I have my fingers crossed and I am working on it every chance I get to. BTW, I don't suppose you have a set of front shocks laying around do ya? Ron 586 02-21-2007, 09:09 PM No I don't have any shocks laying around. I have to buy front and rear for the 67 frame I bought. I'll look at the blue 72 and see what's on it. If they look good you can have them. LUV2XCLR8 02-21-2007, 09:21 PM :c2: 5150 02-21-2007, 10:32 PM If I drive the silver truck I'll trailer it also. I figure I'm going to probably get the same gas mileage when I tow it with the Tahoe, so why take a chance? LUV2XCLR8 02-21-2007, 10:46 PM Neato, 2 rigs pulling rigs on the interstate  5150 02-21-2007, 10:51 PM but are you going to be pulling yours with the FORD?? J/K LUV2XCLR8 02-22-2007, 03:27 PM Damn right, if $ were no object it would be a NEW F-450 SD, I think Chevy has a long way to go to catch Ford and Toyota for flat out bad boy trucks. 5150 02-22-2007, 06:59 PM Just pickin at you, would be an honor to travel down the interstate with you again. Especially trailering our pride and joys. Pickles 02-23-2007, 06:19 AM trailering huh???? Ron 586 02-23-2007, 09:05 AM Why you gonna trailer yours Bryan? It made it fine last year. LUV2XCLR8 02-23-2007, 03:19 PM Ron, it would be his excuse to take the Tahoe :haha: Ron 586 02-23-2007, 08:22 PM I had hoped to have a truck to take to Maggie valley this year but not happening. So will drive my Buick and be happy that I get to go. LUV2XCLR8 02-24-2007, 06:33 AM I had hoped to have a truck to take to Maggie valley this year but not happening. It appears the only way that mine will get there is on a trailer :( I just can't seem to get ahead until July, after that I'll be fine  Ron 586 02-24-2007, 08:29 AM Do you need my trailer or have you got something else lined up. LUV2XCLR8 02-24-2007, 09:17 AM Not sure yet Ron, I hope to borrowing my buddies, he has ok'd it for July already ;) Ron 586 02-24-2007, 09:32 AM OK. Just let me know as soon as you know. I don't plan on doing anything with it but things change quick around here. That is it. I went last year for the first time ever and had a ball. The main thing to remember is that if events like this don't get the support and participation they need to survive then we go back to wishing we had a show to go to. I'll be there, hope to see you too. Liz 02-28-2007, 09:27 AM we likely will too, depending on a few factors.. didnt realize it was so close to the house now untill silver yellow boy made me look 5150 02-28-2007, 09:30 AM you're welcome guys Ron 586 02-28-2007, 09:44 AM we likely will too, depending on a few factors.. didnt realize it was so close to the house now untill silver yellow boy made me look No excuses this year. I plan on meeting this figment of my imagination and putting a snug and hug on you with my wife and mother in law watching. Any bumps in the road and you know how to reach me. Nuff said? special-K 02-28-2007, 02:38 PM  Silver yellow boy, that`s funny. You forgot to fit 69 in there somewhere. LUV2XCLR8 02-28-2007, 03:02 PM we likely will too, depending on a few factors.. You mean I might meet you twice in one year, yikes :exit: Liz 02-28-2007, 10:03 PM 3x you forgot rons Ron 586 03-01-2007, 12:11 AM That will make my year. Hope this year will be bigger and better. 5150 03-01-2007, 08:51 AM Don't know if any of you guys have already booked a room, but I just got off the phone with the Holiday Motel and they have a good price. $45 for a single queen room and $55 for a double room. http://www.holidaymotel.net/ Looks like just a basic motel, nothing fancy, but it is right across the street from the show and it's almost half the price of the Comfort Inn. They seemed like nice folks when I talked with them. If it's like last year and I know it will be I didn't spend any time in my room unless I was sleeping anyway. :) special-K 03-01-2007, 09:59 AM That`s where I`ve stayed.Nice place, right in the middle of it all.Just a sample...charming: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b220/timhicks55/0bae9231.jpg 5150 03-01-2007, 10:07 AM The man said it was right across the street from the show. I stayed at the Comfort Inn last year, but after they raised the price of the room $30 per night I'll find somewhere else to stay. All I need is a bed to sleep in. 5150 03-01-2007, 12:13 PM Anybody found a website for the show. I know it has new owners but I can't find anything about it. Ron 586 03-01-2007, 02:14 PM Look in the southeast region it is there and I don't know how to move it. special-K 03-01-2007, 02:42 PM I can`t reserve a room `cuz my cards are all screwed up right now(thanks honey). When I come down,I`m going to have to ruff it.Won`t be the first time. That motel does have a pool. LUV2XCLR8 03-01-2007, 02:53 PM 3x you forgot rons Really? Wow you are doing some traveling this year huh :hm: special-K 03-02-2007, 07:16 AM You`ll know Liz when you get there. She`ll be walking up and down the road in a bonnet, apron, and ruffled long dress waving to everybody. Liz 03-02-2007, 08:09 AM :haha: you better be there so I can kick ya in the arse personally :hm: |
