I made a dry run today to make sure I could find my way through from Deal's gap. I drove from Maggie Valley over to Bryson City last year, but I was unable to find the Gap and darkness was approaching. Today I drove through the gap over to Cherokee. According to Mapquest it's less than 16 more miles to Maggie Valley (20 someodd minutes). If anyone wants to go make a run through the gap during the show weekend you're loking at 1.5 hrs to get there and at least 20min (my time today:rolleyes: ) to run the dragon. So all in all about 4 hrs round trip. Considering people come from all over North America to make this run 4 hrs isn't squat. I do realize that a lot of people would rather spend time at the show. So if no one wants to go my feelings wont be hurt. If anyone wants to follow us over on Sunday afternoon I can put you back out on I-75 a little south of Knoxville (Loudon) and you can make your own way home from there. Anywho, I'm planning on having a good time no matter what we end up doing!:metal:
