View Full Version : Houston Autorama!!!!! 72CSTC5 11-22-2006, 08:03 PM Who here is going to the Houston Autorama!? pgf545 11-24-2006, 05:33 PM 72 I went today and there is a lot of really cool cars there. Bernie pgf545 11-24-2006, 05:50 PM This truck is just crazy beautiful. I think it is from Tenn, but I can't remember. There are several more up there that were just as nice. Bernie STP67-72 11-26-2006, 11:31 PM I was there all weekend with my red 69 chevy short bed. I did not see a lot of people that i new. Lots of new guys. Gold truck won about 5-6 awards. Nice but not my style. 72CSTC5 11-27-2006, 08:42 AM Steve I saw your truck there but did not see you. That came out beautiful. Why haven't you posted pics on the site of the buildup! That came out gorgeous. If you do not mind I took a couple of pics and will post them on here for you. Buddy Lee 11-27-2006, 11:18 AM does anyone know where to find a link to coverage of the show? Been searching this morning and none of my usual online stops have any (layinbody.com, SSM.com, etc.). Thanks STP67-72 11-27-2006, 01:15 PM Hey Carlos I can't find my camera since i got back from good-guys. The last time i saw you at Conroe on Nov. 6-7, I have not stopped on the truck. I have 12-15 hour days on the weekends. I am lucky that i am still married. But she told me to go for it. On Nov. 11th, the front clip and bed was not even on it. The bed has been painted for a couple of weeks. In fact i started putting the bed together the sunday before the show ( 11-19-06). The complete sides, wood kit, tailgate and all the chrome. I finished it about 1am wednesday morning and cleaned it up and put it on the trailer. Got to the show about 4 pm wednesday and set it up. I did not go back until Friday morning. I had to get some rest. Post all the pics. that you want. I was hoping that somebody took all of the trucks. I ended up with best in class in conservative trucks. You no me I am a 72 cheyenne and a 68 swb guy, but the 69- 70 grille is growing on me. Give me a call when you are ready for your parts. I am also placing a big Goodmark order, if you no anybody ready for parts. Later Steve 72CSTC5 11-27-2006, 06:15 PM Freaking incredible. You should have told me you were thrashing on it I would have stayed in Groves to help you out. I have an apartment there and stay during the week. I just checked my camera, you are going to be mad. The pictures of your truck didn't come out. pgf545 11-27-2006, 08:29 PM Which truck is it...I might have a picture of it. I took about 80 pictures. Bernie 72CSTC5 11-27-2006, 08:43 PM It was a 69 or 70 that was parked at the very end before you walked in to the swap meet area. It was orange-red with the moldings at bottom with some torque thrust II's. Very clean truck. No lic plates on it and on the back window was his company logo. "Steve's Truck Parts" 72CSTC5 11-27-2006, 08:45 PM pgf545 post all the pics you have on here. I missed quite a few. The girfriend and daughter were sick so I was flying through the show. pgf545 11-27-2006, 08:47 PM I just looked through all the pictures I had and the only Red truck I have is the 71 that said Army of one on the back window. I don't have time right now but I will post some in a few days. I have to resize them to post them first. Bernie 72CSTC5 11-27-2006, 09:12 PM Man that blows, It didnt turn out on my camera. I may have to go by his house and snap a couple of pics for the board. Truck is amazing. N2TRUX 11-28-2006, 09:53 PM I hate to say it, but I didn't get any pics either. I barely made the show Friday night at 8:00 thinking it closed at 10:00 only to find out it closed at 9:00...:( I had planned to go back on Sunday but never made it. Sorry I missed you guys. N2TRUX 11-28-2006, 10:02 PM All you guys please look at this post-John Thompson benefit (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?p=1912945&posted=1#post1912945) STP67-72 12-05-2006, 09:57 PM I finally got some pics developed from Autorama. I have misplaced my digital camera so these pics are not that good. My truck is the red '69 Chevy with the lower trim and the torque thrust wheels. All the other trucks were in my class at Autorama, Thanksgiving weekend. I ended up winning 1st in my class. I barely finished it Tuesday night. We all had to be in the George R Brown by Wednesday night. You'll see some better pictures in the near future. Hope you all enjoy the pictures of all the trucks. STP67-72 12-05-2006, 10:04 PM The rest of my pictures from Autorama STP67-72 12-05-2006, 10:07 PM Here is my wife and I with Yoji from Miami Ink. We had a lot of fun. 72CSTC5 12-05-2006, 10:08 PM For those of you have not seen this truck these pictures do it no JUSTICE at all. I was blown away when I saw the detail work on the truck and I am a fanatic. Also I saw this truck about 6 months back and it was a cab sitting on a frame in the corner of his shop while he was trying to rebuild and arrange things after the hurricane in the area last year. Way to go Steve. N2TRUX 12-05-2006, 10:08 PM Nice truck Steve. Congrats on the win. Did you build this one to keep or to sell? 72CSTC5 12-05-2006, 10:23 PM Ken, sorry I missed the benefit just read this post. STP67-72 12-05-2006, 10:32 PM Thanks Ken and Carlos for your comments! Since I sold Carlos the blue and white '72 cheyenne I have bought another '72 cheyenne super 402 BB that I will be building after I get my new shop built. I had this truck torn apart before I did the blue '68 step-side that I sold a couple of years ago. I am not much on '69 and '70 year models but they are beginning to grow on me. I plan on finishing it and playing with it some while its for sale. My favorite years are '72 cheyenne package and '68 custom. Im lucky this truck even made it through the hurricane since it was sitting in front of the garage door that literally blew inside my garage. The good thing is I moved it before we evacuated. Carlos, when you get a chance, lets get together and take some better pictures. Thanks again, everyone, for your comments and support. |
