Not sure on that it's been to long for me but in my panel it's hydraulic 5Mike7 11-23-2006, 10:19 PM Unless converted, they are solid lifters. intake and exhaust specs are all you need, IIRC, intake is 006 and exhaust is .014, but verify with your manual. That's warm specs, I do my 235 warmed up for 30 minutes and with the engine running. dwcsr 11-23-2006, 10:48 PM Mine were hydraulic. I don't think they were changed from Solids. 5Mike7 11-24-2006, 08:19 PM Interesting. I recall my MoToRs manual only having mention of hydraulic lifters in the Vette L6 engines. Not that MoToRs is a Chevy bible, but you may have a Vette engine in your truck. dwcsr 11-24-2006, 08:48 PM Interesting. It does have the car mounts in the block which my other 6 bangers don't have. 7387chevys 11-24-2006, 09:28 PM Interesting. Seems reversed(from conventional setups) vett having Hydraulics and truck having Solids :metal: Shane qksilver 11-24-2006, 11:30 PM I just rechecked my 59 panel..........it has a car 250 from 74, so no help here ClassicRedneck05 11-25-2006, 08:17 AM this is the orginal motor that came in the truck nothing has ever been done to it at all 5Mike7 11-25-2006, 10:29 PM Seems reversed(from conventional setups) vett having Hydraulics and truck having Solids :metal: Shane Yes, but you have to remember that back in the 50's the factory wasn't looking at performance for any engine type, let alone the inline 6s. Hyd lifters were a convienence, solids were (still are) a PIA...the hyd afforded the owner the luxury of just enjoying the drive, almost maintence free. |
