Hart_Rod 10-22-2008, 10:56 PM WOWSERS that wheel is sweet!!!! one question, wouldn't that wheel get extremely hot in the sun? Yes it will.... don't ask me how I know, :D. VA72C10 10-25-2008, 07:32 AM Just read through the build and it's looking awesome....i've been wanting to do a blazer eventually and I will now that i've seen yours. Looks amazing! Can't wait to see the paint and line-x! 5150 10-25-2008, 07:58 AM thanks for the compliments guys, wish I could take credit. It all goes to my body guy, Jason Bullock, he's one of the best. my main dilemma is trying to figure out the speakers. Gotta have my music. VA72C10 10-25-2008, 08:06 AM What about molded kickpanels and marine speakers in there? They have some decent speakers set up to be in boats and you could have a sweet pod built to house the speaker, aim it up towards you and it would look nice and could still be line-x'd Here's frizzle fry's vinyl covered fiberglass one for reference http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y236/e78999/69%20Suburban/Kick%20Panels/CIMG1224Medium.jpg VA72C10 10-25-2008, 08:07 AM And if you want some bass, you can fit a slim depth sub under your seat and have the amp under there as well 5150 10-25-2008, 08:15 AM that's what I'm doing up front. I'm talking about the rear. VA72C10 10-25-2008, 08:24 AM You've probably already seen this thread and are looking for something different, but here are a couple of options in this. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=279045&highlight=kick+panel+speaker 5150 10-25-2008, 04:39 PM yea, I've seen that one. I like what way2lo2 did with the red interior. 5150 11-12-2008, 01:39 PM Okay, sorry been a while since I updated here. I update almost daily on the TNCTC board. Here's a few of the latest pics: http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7015.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7007.jpg Having issues with the front end lining up so Jason put on an older set of fenders and hood to see what the problem is. Turned out it's the cowl hood that fighting us. Actually after we put a stock hood on it I like it better with it. Seems like it gives it a shorter nose look and it seems to flow with the rest of the blazer. Tell me your opinions. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/1110081752.jpg I decided on going with the glove box idea that earlgta gave me for the gauges. I guess my only decision is what color of gauges to go with. They have White, Black, Gray, Tan, Aqua, and Gold. You can forget about the Tan, Aqua, or Gold I don't like those colors with the red. Since the old glove box will now be red and not the black bezel I think White or Gray may be the way to go, but what do you guys think. I decided to keep the black dashpad also and not shave the dash. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/wpc7034edf.png http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/wpcb235f7b.png http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/wpec35f096.png Here is a setup like one of the other guys has on the board. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF0653.jpg Not sure what to do about turn signals or just not worry about it. Of course who wants to be the guy riding down the road with his blinker on and not knowing it. The silver truck always had that problem. I could never get the canceling springs or the cam to turn them off. Dolphin also makes these Shark ones, not sure if I like them better http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/wp6667af0d.png Also you asked for color, I give you color http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7043.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7044.jpg Jason said the paint was great. I was a little worried about it just because I was buying the paint and that he had never sprayed it before. He said it went on awesome and spread really well. He said it said only one coat, but he hit it with it anyway. hotrodhomi 11-12-2008, 01:42 PM I like the "stock" hood. VA72C10 11-12-2008, 01:53 PM Looking awesome BACKYARD88 11-12-2008, 02:39 PM Nice paint! What's the square hole under the radio for? 5150 11-12-2008, 05:35 PM They are for the Air Ride switches. They are black marine switches. Palf70Step 11-12-2008, 05:47 PM Looking good Brian. BACKYARD88 11-12-2008, 10:06 PM I see, I figured it had to be for switches or gauges. NONHOG 11-13-2008, 01:15 AM Cowl hoods are cool but it (your rig) looks smoother w/o cowl hood . gringoloco 11-13-2008, 11:44 AM stock hood, lookin good Rokcrln 11-14-2008, 07:23 AM Stay with the stock hood, I feel it will flow better with the smooth look you are going for! Kevin LFD Inc. 5150 11-14-2008, 07:05 PM Hey guys, I got a question. I don't know if I'm wavering on my backseat idea I just found this on the big board and was wondering if anybody knew anything about it. http://www.easywaysafetyservices.com/gpage13.html http://www.ezonpro.com/instructions/EZONinstructions_schoolBus_1086.pdf If I was to use this I would just go back with the 91 burb seat that I've had for a while. My only concern lately is getting the Tahoe seat to mount in the back. Not a problem getting it to mount because they make brackets/strikers, it's just I'm afraid that the Tahoe seat won't sit far enough down in the bed for someone head to sit below the windshield. I already have floor brackets for the 91 burb seat that sit down inside the bed with a little cutting. I'll take some pics here in a second of the Tahoe seat because I'm headed over there now and was able to borrow someonelse's third row bench Tahoe seat. _________________ 5150 11-14-2008, 07:06 PM Just got back. Still didn't figure anything out. I've been talking to a guy that has a Wrecked 2000 Yukon with a 5.3 in it for sale. I had a revelation about going over and cutting out the floor brackets for the third row. It doesn't have the third row seat or strikers, but all the Tahoe's/Yukon's/Burb's have the same floor pan(I think) Took a few crappy pics with my cell phone. Jason and I were talking and he had the idea to paint a few of the under the hood items like the brake booster, hood latch, battery tray, hood hinges and springs a dark gray to go with the red. He also finished up the firewall. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/1114081726.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/1114081727.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/1114081727a.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/1114081728.jpg hotrodhomi 11-14-2008, 09:56 PM i have a '97 suburban third row seat in mine. It does not sit too high. I cut some brackets out of a mid '80's suburban and they work great. Rokcrln installed the brackets, I think there is a thread. Spray-Bomb 11-14-2008, 11:40 PM I like the flat hood  Look'n good bro :D prostreetC-10 11-15-2008, 01:21 AM Yes......Cowl hoods are for CAMAROS.......not these things. OARNGESI 11-15-2008, 06:37 PM Its looking good 5150 11-17-2008, 01:12 AM a few more pics http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7049.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7047.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7048.jpg BACKYARD88 11-17-2008, 10:29 AM Looking good man! OLDIRON69 11-17-2008, 10:50 AM Damn fine work he is doing! 5150 11-19-2008, 11:36 PM Went and got the hood sandblasted today. Dropped it off at the NADC so Jason could work on it while he was at work. He's done a few things like that for me. Saves me money, he said he's getting paid to be there he might as well work on the blazer so it gets FITS2AT's truck in his garage quicker. I also went out to Pullapart while I was out and grabbed another glove box and dropped it off at Jason's house. I had to buy one because Jason ruined my first one :) http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/1119081459.jpg Big J 11-22-2008, 12:33 AM Brian its lookin' sweet. Great to see one of us with some color. I looked for a glove box door but no dice. All I could find is one so I had to hang on to it. frostie_122 11-22-2008, 02:51 PM music? Kickpannels W/ jl audio marine 7.7 components. And yes still plenty of foot room and the vents still work... frostie_122 11-22-2008, 02:52 PM ...and ebrake is out of a toyota. I went over to check out the progress and wished I'd brought a change of underwear. http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7057.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7061.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7062.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7063.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7064.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7068.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7069.jpg http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7070.jpg LuckyHenriksen 11-26-2008, 10:26 PM That looks freakin' sweet. Can't wait to see it finished OARNGESI 11-27-2008, 07:44 AM That sure has came along way looking awesome tdave00 11-27-2008, 11:02 AM I like what you did with molding in a glovebox. That's sweet. Gonna steal that idea. FRENCHBLUE72 11-27-2008, 11:13 AM Looks very nice is that a flat red? I have that same steering wheel and love it... And last thing what is the pioneer thing in the dash? 1sik52 11-27-2008, 11:33 AM It looks like a Pioneer D3. The best navigation, DVD, CD player ever made if you ask me. 5150 11-27-2008, 12:33 PM French-Yea, it's Hot Rod Red from Flatz. It's really some awesome paint. My body guy said he's really impressed with it. He's used the Dupont line of flat paints in the past and said it never covered like this stuff did. It's a Pioneer DVD/Ipod Stereo, no navigation though. I think what I like most is the gray color he used in the grille. I knew he was using it to accent certain parts under the hood. I love it on the inner part of the grille. FRENCHBLUE72 11-27-2008, 12:48 PM Thanks that red flat sure looks killer.. BACKYARD88 11-27-2008, 09:10 PM Saweet!!! When are the gauges going to be in??? lyrikz 11-27-2008, 09:44 PM Man, MORE VIDEOS. I could literally watch those for days. ahaha.... I am going to have some videos when im painting my truck, cause thats just cool looking. 5150 11-27-2008, 10:16 PM Mike, I'll get the gauges when I can afford them :) nuke1 11-27-2008, 11:17 PM That is one sweet looking ride there, can not wait to see it togehter some more. OLDIRON69 12-01-2008, 08:22 AM Lookin' good gferris5 12-01-2008, 10:36 PM Nice ride, very creative! Question: I know it is some other build somewhere (blah blah, search, yeah I know...) BUT, how hard was it to do that glove box door to gauge cluster mount? It looks really good, and talk about a place where you don't want to mess it up. Any tips? Thanks! Big J 12-03-2008, 12:52 PM I'm diggin' the paint progress pics. Got any more? 5150 12-07-2008, 10:00 PM Just got back. Not much progress, or at least picture worthy progress. Bought a grille emblem from Tim on Wednesday http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7100.jpg Jason made some brackets and got the back seat installed and got lowered an inch http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7102.jpg He got the hood lined up and I helped him take it off so he could paint ithttp://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7099.jpg I got some bucket seat tracks at a junkyard the other day. Jason may cut them down a little to lower them. Just depends on how high they sit up. Got one out of a extended cab 94 so the passenger side seat adjusts alot farther for the rear passengers to get in.http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm294/halenjane/DSCF7101.jpg hotrodhomi 12-08-2008, 12:19 AM I got some bucket seat tracks at a junkyard the other day. You are going to want to cut those down unless you like bugs in your teeth from sitting above the windshield. 5150 12-08-2008, 08:44 AM Yea, we plan on doing that. Just waiting for the seat so we know how much. BACKYARD88 12-09-2008, 05:13 PM You caught that too huh:lol: kizer 12-09-2008, 05:25 PM Man that flat red is amazing. tdave00 12-10-2008, 05:50 AM I see what you mean now about the bottom grill insert (the indentions for the turn signals). Did Woody say whether or not the other grill we had for Project Underhaulin had a bottom grill insert worth using? 5150 12-10-2008, 09:16 AM I just decided to go with the turn signals in the grille. Much easier then trying to find that piece and we were on a little of a timetable. He finished up painting today. I'll go by and get some pics in a few. 5150 12-10-2008, 12:51 PM Just got back from bringing the wheels over. It looks awesome.
