Heres what I seen while looking at it today. The lot it is at was closed today and could not get an answer, so no idea what he is asking for it but here it is...1988-1993 Chev 3500 Ext cab..body needs paint, both fenders broken, 1 tail light cracked, windsheild needs replaced, and tires need replaced. interior looks great, engine(350) has centerbolt valve covers but do not think it is original to truck because it is carbed. anyway I was thinking maybe $3500 at the most just from looking at it today. I also have a 2500 I was going to trade and add some cash to boot.. Just wanting to get a feel of what you guys would pay or think its worth.

I would be nervous about that truck. It may have been a great truck when new but it sounds to me like it has been beat to a pulp and put back together a few times. You have to understand I'm extreamly cheap and I don't have time to fix what some P.O. screwed up cause he had NO idea what he was doing. If you are trading it depends on the condition of your truck. but cash I would hate to think I had over $1500 in it. remember you are dealing with at best a 14 year old truck. now this truck came with a TBI gas engine or a diesel. There is no telling if any of the gauges, transmission, or engine works right. If I was going to buy it I would do it as if I had to convert it back to a tbi, change the transmission, and rebuild everythign. as long as you are doing it that way and you feel it is cheap enough you can't buy one already in that condition for the total (purchase+parts+labor) you should be ok. but as I said I'm cheap.

Oh, I forgot to mention my 89 crew cab 1 ton I paid $750 for it had 72000 miles but the interior had been abused. The rest of the truck, I don't think it had done a days work in it's life. but the paint was faded and peeling when I got it.

Well, my truck is in a little better condition outside but inside is about even. My truck however still has the original tbi 350 and original tranny, runs ok. I wasn't going to throw to much cash into the deal, maybe $500. Couple of other things I forgot to mention, the front on the dually has been upgraded to the 95-98 grill, has a cowl hood.

I paid just under 6 for my C3500. Well, I found a lot of interesting things. Burnt wires, a body that I believe did not come on that frame because it is actually a 4WD chassis, but the VIN says it is a 2WD. The front has been changed to a GMC grill. Appears like he was in an accident and the 5th wheel broke free of the bed and slammed into the cab.
All in all it has been an okay truck.
For your situation, I wouldn't go that high. Maybe 2 to 2500 max. Sounds like it is a real frankenstine of a truck.

i wouldnt pay as mush for it and i wouldnt trade in the other truck yust yet
you could switch the engines and tbi system first before selling the other one you know thats a good engine for sure
