Well I haven't posted in awhile. I am doing this TA for some test and will get the SWB into the scene soon. But I wanted you all to see these. All complete 3d and rendered with some photoshop touchups.
Sorry I had to remove the files?????

did you ever finish the 67-72 truck? I am in visual effects and was looking for a suburban version. what are you charging for a model, and what formats? I have Maya and 3D studio max 9.
thanks

cojnit, I never finished!!! I need to start it over cause it was just to wrong to go on any further. What do you do in the vis/efx industry. I am an art director at a tv station and get to mess with animation stuff every now and then.

I do virtual studios and realtime chromakey effects, as well as all of the post compositing stuff.
you at an affiliate or a local?
I used to be a video engineer for years with my own truck @ NEP.
what did you end with on the model?

I work at the local ABC aff. in St. Louis. I stopped the 67 model right after I did those renderings. I WILL get one done, it's just a hard one to model correctly. I use Lightwave and render in FPRIME. My scenes with HDRI lighting take about 8 minutes to render.

That's funny! You're talking like an eight minute rendering is a long time. When I started 3D modeling it would take anywhere from 3 - 12 hours to get a full rendering! I did architectural models. You had to make sure you had it right before you hit the go button! Ain't technology great! Anyway, nice work & I really like the work you did on the 2wd Blazers a while back.

Man I was BRAGGING.... yeah when I start out messing with 3d (12years ago) renders were overnight things. What software do you guys use?

now it is so bad that if I have a glitch in my real time rendering it is a major deal!
We model in Maya, 3dStudio Max, and Softimage. Also use multigen, and standard 2d apps as well.
then for the realtime stuff we use proprietary stuff from Isreal and Spain.

Wish I could get back into it. Had a career change & don't have the software anymore. Softdesk mainly & 3D Studio. Can't justify the cost when I don't get paid to do it anymore! You guys are amazing! Keep it up! I hope I can get one of you guys to do my Jimmy when I get it further along & a better pic!
