I have a bunch of wiring harnesses I want to strip down and build a couple of good ones.
When I was a ford tech we had a box that had connectors, terminals and other stuff to take apart wiring harnesses and repair them.
Is there such a thing for the 65-72 trucks and where would i get it?

I really dont know if there is such a thing...
but check out www.terminalsupplyco.com and search for series 56 (which will cover most of what was used back then....the head lights use series 59 connectors. May want to search "kits"

There are terminal repair kits, but I haven't a clue as to get ahold of one. Check with your dealer friends as to where they get the ones they have, if you are curious. The Delphi/Packard ones have everything you would ever need...and way more than you would ever use. Don't forget that you will need crimpers and stuff. (If you are tight with a dealer, the service folks may let you rifle through the bins yourself and let you have the terminals you need for the taking--just be nice and don't take a "supply" quantity.)
Like BubbaGreen mentioned, Terminal Supply has just about every terminal you could need. Another good source is Waytek Wire, though their minimums are slightly more (but I think their prices are slightly lower). I also think that Waytek is a bit easier to order from (especially the ancillary stuff), but Terminal Supply has more variety in terminals (i.e., No Packard 59 at Waytek, etc.). One other point, Waytek carries a bigger variety of crimpers and tools than Terminal Supply.

One other thing, the website below has a very comprehensive listing of the variety of terminals for you to cross ref and identify. The guy who wrote it does what you want to do, and put together a pretty good reference site.

Napa auto parts has quite a selection of the connectors and has the terminal ends in the "help" sections...
Our trucks use specifically the "Packard" style of terminals.. mostly the "56" series both male and female versions.. And I think the "59" series for the headlights..
here is a link to the Napa connectors

When you start getting the small packs it adds up, plus until I get them apart not sure what i will need. And if they are apart i don't want to make a road trip! I will check out the chevy dealer, I talked to one guy and they have a service kit for the weather pack style.

Yes, it will add up!!!
They should have stuff for Packard 56/59, MetriPack, Pac-Con, etc. mixed in there as well. From my experience, look for the Delphi/Packard branded and labeled bins. At my GM dealer they are a stand alone set of red bins. A lot of the terminal kits are an amalgamation of just about every terminal you will find--foreign or domestic! But the Delphi boxes are the ones to be digging through!
