:metal: Welcome to the board from South Mississippi!
Fordeater 01-23-2007, 04:56 PM I was wondering if I could get some more info on your sas on your tahoe. That is a sweet tahoe. I'm thinking about doing a sas to my tahoe and was wondering what kit you used, and how much lift you added.
Palf70Step 01-23-2007, 05:07 PM Welcome to the board. Where is the elevator to get in? ;) :)
redz 1970 K5 01-23-2007, 06:04 PM oooohhh.. Points deducted for no front driveshaft. :D I love it, let's get some specs on it. Performance, wheels/tires, etc.
I am all about the family hauling lifted suburban.
tallhoedude 01-24-2007, 07:56 AM BUSTED ON THE DRIVESHAFT!!lol there is one in there now!!
had to save up a little $$ to get one made.these were the first trip out photos.
oru kit,around 14" of lift.d60 frt 14bolt rear,4whl discs,513 gears,built 4l60e and stock transfer case.hydro assist steering,sway bar and trac bar installed.dual frt shocks,single rear shocks.stock engine w/lots of bolt ons and programmer.

tallhoedude 01-24-2007, 08:00 AM opps,forgot....
these pics are on 42 iroks,(bias)love em off the road but shake like a b....
on the highway.bought a set of 38mtz radials, rides and drives like better than new!!will prob look for a set of 41 irok radials in the spring.
the 42's shook so bad that my daughter couldnt focus on the dvd screen in the roof as driving, her little eyes would get all bobble doll head lookin!!
tallhoedude 01-24-2007, 08:01 AM Welcome to the board. Where is the elevator to get in? ;) :)
no elevator but i do carry around a 3' step ladder for the wife and kids to get in and out:lol:
redz 1970 K5 01-24-2007, 11:34 AM Ya, that thing is just badass. That is awesome to get some good miles on a truck after a buildup like that to get your confidence in the truck up. Couldn't agree more on dumping the IROKs for a more streetable tire. I have heard great things about those MTZs.
You get a 9.95 score out of 10 from me. 1 ton running gear, well built and reliable AND functional 4wd after a SAS, good proportions- .05 points were deducted however for the lack of barn doors. :D
You thinking a 4L80E anytime soon or do you think the built 4L60E will hang in there? Seems like the transfer case would be the weak link in the chain to me, glad to hear it's hanging in there.
You have my favorite OBS (92-98) Suburban now, hands down. I am digging that thing! Good job!
tallhoedude 01-24-2007, 01:03 PM thanks again for the compliments.
i put this truck thru some trials, hence the multiple transmissions.ive wheeled pretty hard on this newest built 4l60 but ive also sworn that it will also be the last 4l60 in my tahoe.a 4l80 will be next(hopefully just not too soon$$$$$$)its a pretty salty swap.
the stock transfer case is awesome(hope i didnt just jinx myself) i have had no problems with it.always wheelin in 4lo,even quite a few 60-70 mph trips in 4hi and od back and forth to work.
i wish there was a radial about 42" besides those damn heavy michelins, like i said maybe 41 iroks later, but yes the mtzs are outstanding riding and driving,do great in the mud snow and rocks.ive got about 8k on them and can still barely see any wear.
thanks again for the compliments,i love the big trucks up in the air,as long as you drive em'.
tallhoedude 01-24-2007, 01:05 PM one more thing about the barn doors.i like the gate setup better for tailgating and drive in movies(back up,open the hatch, throw some blankets down in the back and stretch out!)i just have to watch where i park at the drive in,since im as big as the screen.
