Which tonneau cover do you guys like. Snaps, velcro.... Don't have the cash right now for a hard cover, so a soft top would be more practical. Just curious of someone else's opinions. Trying to get a different point of view

Unless you really need one right now I would suggest you save until you can afford a hard cover. You will like it so much more than a soft cover if your trying to keep your contents clean and dry.

Hard covers are great but for utility I found the soft cover to be a lot better. I bought an Extang full tilt, about $300. It is extremely easy to remove and if you'r out you can disassemble it in just a minute or two and have your whole bed to use. I had this on my '01 and now I have an '06 and I'm going to get another one. On the '69 I have the Checkmate hard cover. Looks great but if you need to use your bed I recommend something like the Extang.

I have an ARE hard cover on my '03 and its great, weather tight, secure and easy to open BUT there are times I wish I could easily take it off.

I have a well worn sportmaster soft tonneau that was used when I bought it. It has a "lifetime" warranty to the original purchaser for the vinyl cover. USes snaps are can be moved which is nice. Velcro is junk and will blow off over time. I like the idea of easy removal as I often have to take it off for bigger crap I haul.

I couldnt find one I like that was in my budget...so I made one. John

A buddy did once have a problem with his velcro rolltop... he forgot to fasten it down, and it blew up and ripped to sh*t... so just an FYI... make sure its down good before taking off on the interstate!

i have the same cover, i love it. it took me forever to decide what to get, but i am glad it took long for me to decide

try looking at a checkmate cover, i just picked one up for my truck.

Thanks for the input guys. Hardcover is not practical at this time. Don't like the velcro, was looking at the tongue and groove style. Still undecided. Would like to see the different styles in person. Soon

For colder climates, snaps are out if you use your bed much.

I put the Extang Saber cover on my 2000 GMC during last winter. Great cover in the warm or cold temps. I like it :D

I just installed Backflip tonneau cover on my 05 silverado. I love it. It folds in 4 sections and has great quality.

I have a Truxedo. I like it. It looks good. I paid 400 for it. Worth it. Easy to take off roll up and thing you wanna do to it. Good luck making your choise though alot out there to choose from...

DEPENDS on how you want to use the truck. I have a hard cover (SNUGLID)on my 84 GMC SWB and it is great for traveling and security. (Numerous Hot Rod Power Tours with it). My daily driver (91 Silverado SWB) has an Extang soft tonneau on it. It keeps the rain, snow and curious eyes out of the bed, BUT it can easily be rolled up when I have that big item to haul home. The hard cover is a little complicated in that respect. That is the way I am going to keep it.

I would have to agree with N2TRUX. Save your money and go with the hard top. I have had both the soft top and hard top and by far the hard top has proven to more secure and keeps everything dry. I would take the Snug Top over the Gaylord. I have had both and the Snug Top is the better of the two.

I'm in the 'save your money' for a hard top way of thinking too.

I use my truck for work and always have to be in the bed but still need to keep the contents dry.

Went with a Pace roll up cover and have never looked back.

Look at it likes it's an investment.

I have a tonneau master cover, no holes, snaps in, bed stays dry and clean.

I like it but admit I dont pull it on and off much.
