I want to guess "12-Bolt", but I don't know enough about this type of vehicle to be 100%. I have seen the Eaton rears before and they are a lot "rounder" and the cover is almost a perfect half-dome shape, which this one clearly isn't.

Anyone? Lots of good emoticons for whomever knows....

That is indeed a 12 bolt. Be aware if you ever have to get parts for it that you do need to specify TRUCK 12 bolt because the pinion shaft diameter is not the same as a car!

:metal: :) :gi: :ww: :agree: :c2:   :floss:

Is there any reason why I couldn't do the same sort of mods like the car versions???..... specifically adding a selectable locker, and most importantly some sort of positive retention method for the wheels if an axleshaft was to ever break?.... some sort of C-Clip retainer or "full floater hub" type idea.

I am planning to use this axle to do some towing from time to time, and can't be having wheels spitting out from under the rig!

Thanks again for the help!
