looking at the 4l60 tranny pan how would you remove it with out taking out the trans cross member on a 94 gmc 2wd halfton? seems like the pan can not be removed with out dropping the cross member first:crazy: :crazy: . Does it have a drain some were?

Haynes manual says you can unbolt the transmission from mount and jack up the rear of transmission and have enough clearence. I just chanaged the filter and fluid on my 88 and I think the best way is to undo the trans mount from trans, remove the crossmember bolts from frame, place jack under trans tail housing and slide the crossmember back to give you clearence of the bolts. Hope this helps.
