View Full Version : It's never to early to start a party part 3 !!!!!
see ten 07-10-2007, 04:48 PM  WOWSERS, I were a 2X and that sounds like a 3X :lol:Good................It should fit you quite comfortably then! If it's to big for you then maybe Ron will want it! I swear it says XL on the tag. Most of the ones I buy measure somewhere from 22"-23.5". Depending on what era the shirt was made it could range from a small to a large. I've learned to go by the measurements on these bad boys.
Looks like I have to work that weekend.:( Thought I could talk the wife into going, but I don't have enough vacation to burn.
Ron 586 07-11-2007, 09:30 PM Looks like I have to work that weekend.:( Thought I could talk the wife into going, but I don't have enough vacation to burn.
Hey, no problem. I would love to have you here but if that don't work maybe I can catch one of the Mississippi meets that you are at. We'll make it happen sooner or later.
You need to come to Cruzn the coast with your drag car.:D I'm gonna try to make Craig's shindig in Jackson in the fall.
Ron 586 07-12-2007, 02:17 PM If I had the Nova out down there I would end up in jail. It's just too much fun.
gdhall_1999 07-13-2007, 07:48 AM Just a note to who ever shoots vid. of the Nova runs this year post them all over the web. And Dad keep it in a straight line this year :burnout: . Oh and David wants a ride. He likes fast and/or sideways. He realy likes it when I ask him "do you promise not to tell your mom about this?"
Ron 586 07-13-2007, 10:17 PM Well kill two birds with one stone and come down for your visit next weekend. You can visit with us and get to meet a bunch of board members at the same time. Don't know if you can get your ducks in a row that quick. Let me know.
Ron 586 07-15-2007, 01:33 AM I'm a very tired and thankful old man tonight. My son and his family are here from S.C. for the weekend and we put in a full day of working getting my place ready for the meet/cookout here next weekend. My son/Lewis, granddaughter/Dana, and grandson/T.J. hit the yard running this morning and got the house pressure washed and the field between the back of the house to the pond is mowed. We got more done today than has happened here in the last month of my efforts alone. So next weekend when we are enjoying all this nice area to party in we can thank the hard work put in by Lewis, Dana, and T.J. today. (I tried to stay out of the way.)
LUV2XCLR8 07-15-2007, 08:25 AM That's what family is all about. Your other family will be there Saturday. ;)
gdhall_1999 07-15-2007, 09:03 AM Well kill two birds with one stone and come down for your visit next weekend. You can visit with us and get to meet a bunch of board members at the same time. Don't know if you can get your ducks in a row that quick. Let me know.
I thought about it last week but we have 2 guys on vac. this week from my dept. already and thats all they want off at a time. we are shooting for mid Aug. (because its not nearly hot enough up here in mid Aug.) if Lew, Dana and T.J. are still there tell them I said Hi. Well time to go work on the lawn we finaly got underground sprinkling put in so now I have to weed and feed the front yard and feed and seed the back yard. Type at you later, Glen
LUV2XCLR8 07-15-2007, 10:40 AM Weather may be a factor in "Merlot" making the trip this coming Saturday :(
Ron 586 07-15-2007, 01:09 PM I'm hoping for a nice cool day like last year. I have enough room to move it inside if need be. Between the front porch and house and carport/patio in the rear we have it covered. So bring it on and we can make it happen.
Ron 586 07-16-2007, 12:37 AM OK guys and gals if you are coming to the cookout/meet I need to know by Tuesday night midnight for me to order food Wedensday morning. If you have replyed in this thread I have you counted but if you want to say it again I don't mind. Se you next Sat. July 21, 2007 here in Big Sandy, Tn 38221.
method2mymadnes 07-16-2007, 10:42 AM I'll be there, hopefully my son will be with me. Do we need to bring anything?
Ron 586 07-16-2007, 01:42 PM You don't have to bring anything but can bring a bag of chips or something. My wife is making 2 birthday cakes and a sheet cake so I think deserts are covered. I have drinks covered. So just come on over.
LUV2XCLR8 07-16-2007, 06:26 PM Just me, and maybe "Merlot" :hm:
see ten 07-16-2007, 09:02 PM Well, I drove my K10 to the last two meets I went to and the C10 to Maggie Valley. So......It wont upset anyone if I show up in an import will it?
Ron 586 07-16-2007, 11:01 PM Not at all. Would love to see you and your wife show up. Just drive what makes you happy.
method2mymadnes 07-16-2007, 11:03 PM I was thinkin the same thing. At least there will be two of us in imports
Blue_71 07-16-2007, 11:47 PM hey ron just wanted to update you. Jewels and I arent going to be able to make it :( thanks though!
Josh
Ron 586 07-17-2007, 01:03 AM Thanks for letting me know I'm very sorry that you can't make the cookout.
LUV2XCLR8 07-17-2007, 05:15 PM Less than 4 days :metal:
Ron 586 07-17-2007, 06:39 PM Yep, just 4 days to go and I'm ready. Now all I need is a yard full of truck lovers and families and it's on.Can't wait for Sat. to get here.
LUV2XCLR8 07-17-2007, 06:43 PM Weather (http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/weekend/38221?from=36hr_topnav_business)
Ron 586 07-18-2007, 01:39 PM Food's orderd. Everything is ready just waiting for Sat.
LUV2XCLR8 07-18-2007, 02:33 PM Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet :metal:
see ten 07-18-2007, 04:33 PM Aloha!!!!!!!
LUV2XCLR8 07-18-2007, 04:36 PM
gdhall_1999 07-19-2007, 05:26 PM I hope everyone has a fun and safe time at the cookout. I want to see some good pictures (perferably with everyone fully clothed) later, Glen
Ron 586 07-19-2007, 05:39 PM We'll keep it safe and I'll try to keep Mom Ruel from getting to frisky. It's supposed to cool off about 10 degrees for the weekend. That will be a big help. Wish you could make it.
gdhall_1999 07-19-2007, 06:04 PM Ya, I would much rather be there then what I should do this weekend. I have to move some of the sand from behind the house to fill in some holes the dogs dug trying to catch moles, And clear everything to the back of the yard so the cement dudes can pour a patio/storage slab behind the house going all the way across the back of the house and 16 feet out. I will be able to park the popup and quad/trailer on it so I don't have to mow around them any more. P.S. good luck keeping Ma Ruel fully clothed
see ten 07-19-2007, 09:37 PM Craig, Are you going to break out your straw hat?!
First of all, I will be offended if you show up in an import :) J/K. Since I've been gone my business has taken a few major hits so I'm probably going to be in an import also.
woodridge 07-19-2007, 10:38 PM We'll be driving a Chevy but unfortunately not a 67-72.:(
Ron 586 07-20-2007, 01:09 AM I don't care who's on first or how they got there as long as you are here Sat. Got a PM from Josh telling me that he and Liz won't be able to make it because of steering problems with the truck. That is a major disappointment for me but I understand. So we will press on and do what we do best, that's the best that we can do. It is supposed to cool off about 10 degrees so that will help. Waitin' on the weekend.
Is anybody coming from East Tennessee? I need something picked up from Tim's. I know it's late notice and I'm not expecting it. I meant to do this before I went on vacation and forgot. I asked woodridge last night, but he's not in East TN.
LUV2XCLR8 07-20-2007, 04:22 PM Well I was gonna try to come up this afternoon, but I had to buy
new tires on Evil Bay for "Merlot", damn priorities sometimes suck.
I'll be there in the morning :metal:
BACKYARD88 07-20-2007, 05:58 PM Y'all have fun and be safe!
Ron 586 07-20-2007, 07:07 PM The Woody has landed along with his oldest son David. We have spent the afternoon out in the outdoor parts department. We'll have things ready for the rest of you to arrive tomorrow. Keep it safe while you travel.
David got there first to try to get a first look at Ron's parts. I see how this works :)
LUV2XCLR8 07-21-2007, 06:15 AM :haha:
I should be there around 8:30-9:00, wish me luck, roll'n topless :D
Good luck.
I'm about to walk out the door. Had to change the oil in my wife's car this morning. Forgot to do it yesterday.
I'll be there with Mandi and my Padiwan
See ya around 10
method2mymadnes 07-21-2007, 09:19 AM Headed out the door. Hope to be there around 10:30
:metal:
BACKYARD88 07-21-2007, 09:36 AM I'm at work:( Yall take pictures:D
LUV2XCLR8 07-21-2007, 07:33 PM Home, I drove "Merlot" :D it was about 1.5 hours each way, she did
ok, will be better when the new rubbers get here  I did round trip
on about 10 gallons, no idea what that computes too  my spedo
is off by about 10 mph. Ron took pic's, but Woody crashed his PC :hm:
All in all it was a blast, cannot wait 6 weeks till the next one in E TN.
Just got in myself. Had a blast as usual. We need to have a bad time at one of these we're being WAY to consistent. :)
method2mymadnes 07-21-2007, 10:03 PM Did anyone besides Ron take any pics? I had my camera but never got it out for some strange reason.
woodridge 07-21-2007, 11:18 PM I'm home. Not a bad trip for such a great time, 5 hrs 15 minutes. Yep, I broke Ron's computer, kinda, well yes, it is broke but looks like there was a virus that corrupted a start file for windows. Oh well, Dell is sending the disc's that were supposed to come with the computer so he can fix it next week.
For all those that couldn't make it you missed a really great day. The weather was perfect, fish to be caught and lot's of yakin'. When Ron gets his computer back on line, we will have some pics of those in attendance.
see ten 07-22-2007, 12:18 AM Just walked in myself! Almost missed the movie with the traffic tie up on the highway. My 2 hr drive to Opry mills turned in to 3! We literally walked in as the movie was starting. Imax in the 2nd row of seats can be a little rough. Had a blast fellas!
see ten 07-22-2007, 12:23 AM Oh and my little bro called me on the way home. The blazer I was telling you guys about that he bought for parts..........well it runs. He got to fiddlin around with it and the fuel pump was bad. The guy said he thought the engine was bad in it. Claimed it had been run out of gas and when it was fired back up it over revved popped a couple times and never ran again. I guess that makes his good deal more of a steal. He said he felt kind of bad about it.
gdhall_1999 07-22-2007, 12:54 AM Did the Nova make a run, and is there any video of It? glad to hear everyone had a good time down there. later, Glen
LUV2XCLR8 07-22-2007, 09:38 AM No engine in the Nova. It was out due to #5 having a crater size hole in
the wall of it. We thought about using the Kubota and bleach and doing
a re-enactment in slow mo  All in all it was a great time had by all
That is crappy that the only one that took pics is Ron and his computer messed up. We'll have to wait to see our ugly mugs on here.
LUV2XCLR8 07-22-2007, 05:41 PM Well he's posted in the Next Year's meet thread, so maybe he's back online ;)
you're right, so what's he waiting on???? :)
LUV2XCLR8 07-22-2007, 05:58 PM  Dunno
see ten 07-22-2007, 06:18 PM Craig, How did Roxanne like your new shirt?
LUV2XCLR8 07-22-2007, 06:21 PM :josh:
see ten 07-22-2007, 06:49 PM Here's some pics of the Blazer my brother just bought that I told you guys about at the meet. He says that he's going to drive it for a while with all the mold and fungus on it. The previous owner claimed that the engine has less than 2K miles on it and he paid a machine shop to build it for him. It's amazing how they run better with a functional fuel pump isn't it. It hadn't been tagged in 3yrs!

oh I thought he had it fixed. oh well, don't hurt the Kubota my son and I want rides when we go down in late Aug. I only wish I could go down for longer in cooler weather. Working for a living sucks. Glad everyone made it though ok. later, Glen
Ron 586 07-23-2007, 07:31 PM Well he's posted in the Next Year's meet thread, so maybe he's back online ;)
I used Aimees laptop to make that post. I am at my neighbor Roger Tedfords now. As soon as I get the Disk from Dell I'll try to get back on.
see ten 07-23-2007, 08:44 PM :josh:I guess this means you aren't starting an aloha shirt collection.
LUV2XCLR8 07-24-2007, 02:34 PM Nope :(
woodridge 07-24-2007, 03:59 PM I guess this means you aren't starting an aloha shirt collection.
Now I think that would be real cute!
Ron 586 07-25-2007, 02:08 PM Hi guys, I spent from 7:30 am until 9:30 pm yesterday at Nashville VA hospital. From 4:30 on in the emergency room. Something was causing me to get light headed and fall (3ed time was while I was in line to get my prescriptions then out the door at 4:00 pm) which got Naomi upset so she went to my doctor and insisted they find out what was causing it. I had a cat scan, ekg, chest X ray and enough blood was drawn to start a blood bank. At the end of all this they told me I have a severe sinus infection that might be affecting my balance. So I didn't get home until midnight and the last thing I was concerened with was the disk from Dell was here. I am now waiting on Dell to call me because I can't get the computer to read the disk and I'm not smart enough to make it do it. So I'm on the laptop just letting you know that as soon as I can I'll get back on. See Ya.
LUV2XCLR8 07-25-2007, 03:12 PM  Sheeeeeeeeesh, what a night, don't worry about the pic's Ron,
sounds like you need more help than they do. Hope that what they
found and prescribed helps you out, you looked to be doing well as
expected w/ we were up there Saturday. Thoughts & prayers 4 ya
Ron 586 07-27-2007, 12:04 AM First thing is that yes the numbers are looking better on the things that count. Kidney function is up 2 numbers so that is good that maybe we have got the downward spiral stopped. We have upped the insulin for the morning shot and will see what happens. We are having a pool put in this week. It is a small above ground, 21', 4'deep water, just for exercise. The doctors want me to spend an hour a day, 3 days a week in it to try to get me back in shape. Wish me luck.
Now on the computer front it is not looking good. I spent all day (over 9 hours) with Dell support today and my computer still don't work. I talked wit 4 different people today and run the disk every way they could think of and still nothing. We are going to start again tomorrow. Wish me luck there too. Will give Aimee back her laptop so catch you later.
with all the Tenn members within an hour or so of ron.. why doesnt one of yall go help him get his puter running again..
LUV2XCLR8 07-27-2007, 02:19 PM Liz,
It's over my head, never seen one do what his did. I wouldn't
know where to start other than the same place that Dell did.
Ron 586 07-27-2007, 11:55 PM Just a quick check in post. Dell didn't call today and if they had I really didn't have time to mess with them. I spent they whole day getting the pool up and running. This afternoon all the women were in the pool splashing and having a good time from the 2 year old to the 86 year old. First time that I have seen them all laughing and having fun at the same time in years. This thing may be good for something after all. I would have jumped in too but I have to keep this left leg wrapped up until next Tuesday. With the report of better numbers in the blood work I am happy and ready to start working on getting back up and going and getting to spend time in the shop and not running to the doctor all the time.
I'm about ready to go to wal-mart and buy me another $800 HP and to hell with Dell. That first old HP lasted 6 years of me not knowing what I was doing but let me do it anyway. So that pretty much sums it up for what is happening here. Hope to get back up to snuff soon, one way or the other.
LUV2XCLR8 07-28-2007, 06:24 AM Ahh Yes, the pool. Sounds like it was fun had by all. We just missed it ;)
Ron 586 07-29-2007, 01:22 AM Ahh Yes, the pool. Sounds like it was fun had by all. We just missed it ;)
Yep if you can picture this. Me out at 2am this morning mixing chemicals and pouring them in so they would be stirred enough for the morning dip. Naomi and mom were in it today while Aimee and Hannah ran around visiting. It will be Tue. before I can get in it as I can't get the wrap on this leg wet. It will be good for next years get together. Hope to see you soon for just a little visit. I'll keep in touch.
LUV2XCLR8 07-29-2007, 07:43 AM Okydoky :metal:
Ron 586 08-05-2007, 09:35 PM Just a quick post to say thanks for all the support I've received from everyone during the last few months. I believe we are starting to turn it around and get better. I will be making the announcement soon but to end this thread on a positive note yes I will be hosting a cookout/meet in July 2008. Don't count me out yet.
see ten 08-06-2007, 08:44 PM OK guys, It turns out there were some pics taken at this event!!:metal: See em here! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?p=2296230#post2296230
