I would like to polish these old wheels. There is a similar post in here, but I think mine are different because they were never polished to begin with. What products would work best? I have never done anything like this so I wanted some opinions on the best materials to use. I have a Dremel tool and of course drills if they will help. Is there something I should bath or soak them in first? Obviously fast and cheap is my goal, but I will take whatever time and money (within reason) needed to do it right.

I've had some wheels polished at a local shop for $50 a wheel. Alot of work to do it yourself and make it look good, I think

Not so sure those wheels can be polished if they are magnesium. I had good luck cleaning a set of those withan acid wheel cleaner. Can't think of the name of the brand but I will in time. Sorry.

Thats true, they might be magnesium. They are pretty old and I'm not sure of their specifics. Is there an easy way to tell what they are made of?
