Found this article interesting - covers AMD's plans for the next couple of years. Intel has their quad core chip out already (Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme), and AMD is still pursuing it, but they have a lot of other technologies up their sleeve.

I know there is always this constant struggle where one of them is on top, then the other one is on top, etc. I think this is the first time I have seen them both so far separated on technology projections though (as far as the path they're choosing.

It's never boring (least for a geek) on the discussion (arguments) of which way is best. It'll be real interesting to see what takes shape over the next year or so.
