RicksTrucks 05-09-2007, 04:24 PM For those of you that will be passing thru Tulsa, my place is only about 15 minutes NW of the Claremore turnpike (I-44) gate (I am off of Route 66 which parallels I-44) heading to Joplin. Not sure when I will be leaving, but can offer it as a pit stop - gots lots of room for parking. Email me when you are thinking about passing by and maybe we can all meet up at the world's largest McDonalds on the turnpike just north of here and create a huge caravan. Invade Missouri in force. smirch9 05-09-2007, 06:08 PM For those of you that will be passing thru Tulsa, my place is only about 15 minutes NW of the Claremore turnpike (I-44) gate (I am off of Route 66 which parallels I-44) heading to Joplin. Rick, I am not going to be able to make it to the meet, but can we meet to have you take a tailgate up there for the meet to sale? I am going to donate it to the board so maybe they can peddle it to make some extra dinero. Thanks, Ricky GMCPaul 05-11-2007, 05:32 AM Of course as always we will also be attending and bringing along over 1000lbs in fireworks to put on around a 3 hour display of fireworks for night time entertainment. GMCPaul Custom 68 05-11-2007, 08:49 AM Cool Paul, I may need to bring my son now for sure! This will be a fun event... Better get started packing! Dave 1969k10stepside 05-11-2007, 10:55 AM Of course as always we will also be attending and bringing along over 1000lbs in fireworks to put on around a 3 hour display of fireworks for night time entertainment. GMCPaul I might have to follow your caravan of firewood and fireworks and what ever else y'all decide to bring so if I break down you can tow me the rest of the way...lol. Guess I need to test it on the road some more before making the journey. There isnt much that could go wrong.I have just redone the whole truck (sarcasm) 68gmcdually 05-11-2007, 01:58 PM I have a ton of hardwood that I wanted to bring for firewood but we have restrictions up here about moving firewood through different regions because of longhorn beetles or something weird like that. Ron 586 05-11-2007, 02:16 PM We'll find something to burn James, Just get your A/C installed and trailer hooked up and make the little trip south of the border. We want you and your family to be there for sure. LUV2XCLR8 05-11-2007, 03:53 PM Unlimted supply of OAK 3 X 3 Spacers here, just gotta get them there :( 68gmcdually 05-11-2007, 04:55 PM I am doing my best to be there, just need to figure out everything financially. Paying a mortgage and raising a family isn't fun anymore. Although a vacation would be fun. Ron 586 05-11-2007, 06:53 PM Saw the post about the dog. That was a lick but if it saved it it was worth it. And you're right it takes some doing to spport a family and have a hobby too. You can do it, just don't give up. 68gmcdually 05-11-2007, 11:06 PM Thanks Ron. I am sure that everything will work out for the best. I was doing some soul searching tonight while I was putting in 6 hours of overtime doing someone else's job that decided to go home early this afternoon and I figure that we can swing it. It will probably be in the Ford extend a cab but hey, you guys won't judge me will ya? The transmission still hasn't been rebuilt, I am worried that if I drop it the repair bill will be huge and then the truck will be sitting for a while, at least this way I can drive it, it just grinds a little. I really want to meet everyone and my wife is still excited about going, we practiced last weekend by taking the trailer to a show and camping without services and made it through great, we just had to improvise on how to heat up Ryans food but we made it through the weekend and we where both still talking to each other so that is a plus. Ron 586 05-12-2007, 01:13 AM I'll have a 4400 watt generator with me and will try to barrow a couple more to bring. You will have electric for sure. Hey Boss we are allowed to run generators out there aren't we? LUV2XCLR8 05-12-2007, 04:41 AM Countdown to the Meet (http://www.timeanddate.com/counters/customcounter.html?month=7&day=7&year=2007&hour=8&min=0&sec=0&p0=605) :hmm: BOSS 05-12-2007, 08:16 AM Ron yes you all are more then welcome to run generators :) Also there are plenty of trees here for wood so no reason for anyone to haul wood here especially they way gas prices are.....lol Are you all getting excited as i am?????????? BACKYARD88 05-12-2007, 09:32 AM Yup!!:metal: :c2: :hot:  Liz 05-12-2007, 09:40 AM we are now excited to announce, we have enough money in the fund to feed luv. The rest of us are still sol though ;) BACKYARD88 05-12-2007, 09:44 AM :haha: 68gmcdually 05-13-2007, 12:57 PM I'll have a 4400 watt generator with me and will try to barrow a couple more to bring. You will have electric for sure. Hey Boss we are allowed to run generators out there aren't we? I stole my dad's 1000 watt generator for the trip. It is enough to charge the battery back up and run the coffee maker so that is a plus. rage'nrat638 05-13-2007, 02:18 PM o yea shipping a box of goodies boss's way.. i am sure i will come up with more do you want to have the stuff ahead of time. or bring it with.? i am thinking ship it. that way u will have a handle on what we still need :) LUV2XCLR8 05-14-2007, 02:23 PM I'm hungry :D RicksTrucks 05-14-2007, 02:43 PM Rick, I am not going to be able to make it to the meet, but can we meet to have you take a tailgate up there for the meet to sale? I am going to donate it to the board so maybe they can peddle it to make some extra dinero. Thanks, Ricky Would be glad to. Just let me know when. rlcrockett@aol.com BACKYARD88 05-14-2007, 02:45 PM Me too, I need some dental work so I gotta put my truck on hold or miss the meet... truck is currently on hold;) Liz 05-14-2007, 04:11 PM I'm hungry :D thank goodness the donations are still coming in ;) Ron 586 05-15-2007, 07:16 AM We better start lobbying now trying to get Norwood Mo. declared a national disaster area and seek federal aid. That's about the only way we can feed Luv if he is in fact hungry. Hopefully we can find an all you can eat buffet on the trip up and knock the edge off his hunger to help out. We'll help all we can. 68gmcdually 05-15-2007, 03:10 PM Well I officially tore the clutch out of the '68 on Sunday, my wife was away and I took Ryan out in the '68 and we went to visit 72Mario and his pregnant wife. On the way home the transmission piled up and I was stuck in 3 rd gear. Hopefully the transmission guy can have it rebuilt it in lots of time because I am sure it is a go that we will be attending. LUV2XCLR8 05-15-2007, 03:14 PM Sorry about the tranny, but glad it's not discouraging you ;) BOSS 05-15-2007, 03:47 PM trannys suck but we still hope you can get here if you can bud :) 68gmcdually 05-15-2007, 05:46 PM I am just glad that it happened within 5 miles of home as I had my 8 month old with me. If it had of happened in Indiana with the trailer in tow and the wife with me I would have been in big trouble, I wouldn't have even been able to use the emergency contact list cause y'all would be on the road too. At least now it should be back in with a good length of time to do a shake down and re-torque everything before the big drive of '07. Ron 586 05-15-2007, 11:48 PM Yeah if it had to happen glad it went now so you wouldn't keep babying it around and it happen a week before the meet. Good luck and hope it don't kill the wallet to much. jeffspower 05-15-2007, 11:57 PM The first "big" road trip I made when I was young ended up with good bad luck. Bad luck it happened, good luck it happened when it did. My heater core popped pulling out the driveway, and the starter shot craps when I pulled back in the drive when I got back. 68gmcdually 05-16-2007, 01:37 PM My first big road trip without my parents driving started out bad as well after loading up the S-15 heading for Lake Placid the battery was dead, my then g/f now wife had plugged in the cooler on 12v and it had wiped out the battery, that was the only problem the whole trip though. The second big road trip we where heading down the 401 (our version of an interstate) and the idler arm nut backed off and we lost steering coming around an off ramp as we had decided to stop for breakfast, that was scary because five minutes beforehand we had been driving at 140 km/h. To make matters worse we had the Bravada loaded to the nines with camping gear and people, I dropped it off at a garage, walked to Denny's and called it done. Ron 586 05-16-2007, 11:01 PM Well you have used up all your bad luck and this trip will go off without a hitch. Simonstrucker 05-17-2007, 02:16 PM Did we find out what the ovehaulin project needs, I will be there and will bring all my snapon tools, plus my welder if need and my sata spay gun with other autobody supplies. cory321 05-17-2007, 07:43 PM I dont know if i missed it but what is Boss' address BOSS 05-18-2007, 10:28 AM ok ok what do you all want to try to do to my 4x4?
