Alvin 12-22-2006, 01:54 PM This makes me sick, 7 months to go and I wanna be there already :hm:
No kidding, me too.
I'm thinking this is just the motivation I need to get my truck back on the road. I have no idea how I'll get it road worthy by then (seeing as it's been apart 4 years already), but I'm going to do whatever it takes!
Ron 586 12-22-2006, 02:06 PM I've got to get to work on the dually now for sure. Don't have a clue what it needs or where to start but got to get it road ready.
Would love to have the blazer ready by then, but don't think it's possible.
LUV2XCLR8 12-22-2006, 04:23 PM I drove "Merlot" today :D although I only went 1.5 miles round trip :(
stepside454 12-22-2006, 06:10 PM Boss...do any of the local car clubs hold Saturday night cruises in Mt. Grove, like @ McDonalds or DQ or anything ? could be fun to have a bunch of our trucks invade a cruise. John:fb:
72dually 12-22-2006, 06:35 PM If anything, this should give anyone interested in attending, the motivation to get cracking on your truck:)
Sammy 12-22-2006, 07:05 PM I am with stepside454...We will need to invade a SONIC/ McDonalds for a cruise takeover...I plan on my 71Gmcstep to be there.
stepside454 12-22-2006, 07:47 PM Sammy, you goin ? we may be puttin together a convoy to go down together
rambler 12-22-2006, 11:59 PM I've been off for awhile, (dont know if anyone still remembers me.... ) (still job hunting) and saw this,, its only 3 1/2 hours from me, and only 30 mins from my folks house.. so I am attending! dont know if I'll get the truck on the road by then, so may also be driving a ford,, or worse a dodge neon!
Ron 586 12-23-2006, 12:46 AM It don't matter what you drive or if you have to hitch a ride, the important thing is to be there. We want the turnout to be so large that we have to clear 10 more acres of Bosses place just to park trucks. And hang in there something will turn up on the job front. I've been off work since Feb. 18 2006, had 3 surgeries and don't think I'll ever get to work again. But we're hanging tough and haven't quit yet. You don't need to either. Good luck.
About the only club around here is there is about 7 older gentelemen that have convertable MG's and they are all red :),but all they drive them for is the parades...lol.But we could hit Mc Donalds and Sonic for sure.I am sure it will be a great 3 days :)
LUV2XCLR8 12-23-2006, 06:24 AM I've been off for awhile, (dont know if anyone still remembers me.... )
I do, :welcome2: Back
LUV2XCLR8 12-23-2006, 06:27 AM Ok, we have mentioned the party, we have mentioned the cruise in, we have
mentioned the drag strip, we have mentioned the campers, and swap meet. I
have one question left, are you set-up for a Board version of Overhaulin ? ? ?
We had this going on at my meet, if nuthing else it was fun to watch others
work  With all of these great minds attending we may be able to fix some
things for some members, of course this will all depend on what kind of tools
you have James. And of course this is if anyone is interested in this at all ;)
Sammy 12-23-2006, 07:55 AM Stepside454 Ohhh yeah wouldn't miss it.. Believe my son's truck will go too
Sammy 12-23-2006, 07:58 AM I mean hey it isn't a bad thing to show up at Sonic with 65 trucks that buy a hamburger & a drink..
if nuthing else it was fun to watch others work
It was???
stepside454 12-23-2006, 08:35 AM Stepside454 Ohhh yeah wouldn't miss it.. Believe my son's truck will go too
were gonna talk about this at our next meeting, see if we can get some participation from our club to go down.
Try to make it Sammy. Itll be January 13th.
llama 12-23-2006, 10:14 AM Looks like Mountain Grove is the closest motels, which one would you suggest. To old to camp and the tour bus will be in the shop that week (Ha-HA)
wedgemon 12-23-2006, 10:39 AM 1,430 Miles - one way - for me. Although I'll be in Minnesota the weekend before. But don't want to bring a rental car down.
We'll see what happens. That's a Long ride.
- Dave
Ron 586 12-23-2006, 11:55 AM It was???
Yep it was. Wish I was able to help a little more.
Ron 586 12-23-2006, 12:53 PM I think we can rule out the drag strip trip unless something changes. They have a conflict going on and most want to heads up class race, and use DOT approved Drag radials tires. One of the guys said they have some sort of shootout around the 4th with Pro Mods and other bad boy cars. I'm not going to drag my wagon 400 miles to have it not fit any class or to sit in line for hours while the big boys play. That just leaves me more time to visit and have fun.
LUV2XCLR8 12-23-2006, 02:45 PM James, now that we have the place and time, what else do we need to do?
stepside454 12-23-2006, 03:33 PM :exit: :exit: About the only club around here is there is about 7 older gentelemen that have convertable MG's and they are all red :),but all they drive them for is the parades...lol.But we could hit Mc Donalds and Sonic for sure.I am sure it will be a great 3 days :)

I am up for a board overhaulin of course :) Also i love the idea of a swap meet for parts exchange :) Anyone have other ideas on what we would like to do?
LUV2XCLR8 12-24-2006, 07:01 AM I am up for a board overhaulin of course :) Also i love the idea of a swap meet
for parts exchange :) Anyone have other ideas on what we would like to do?
So does that mean you have a adequate tool selection for Overhaul'n ?
If not I am sure some people would be willing to bring some small things
if needed, most of us who drive a distance will have some tools with us.
When it gets closer you'll need to start a "Board Meet Parts Swap Thread"
:gi:

WHat did you do last year, I dont recall seeing a thread on it. How many people & trucks showed up ?
LUV2XCLR8 12-24-2006, 09:31 AM WHat did you do last year, I dont recall seeing a thread on it.
How many people & trucks showed up ?
We are talking about my COOKOUT (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=213868)
We had all kinds of stuff going on ;)
Would like to do the same again
:gi:
stepside454 12-24-2006, 09:41 AM Ok that looked like a good time. God willing we'll get to see flys having sex again.
Missouri is a great location for events in my opinion. The population center of the United States is Edgar Springs MO, just a little south of Rolla, MO. John
LUV2XCLR8 12-24-2006, 10:05 AM You guys up there in St. Louis are more than welcome to attend this fall ;)
SkylineNXS 12-24-2006, 10:18 AM thats a good 516 miles for me, sounds like it would be one fun road trip. I'll probably be there, if i can get the 66 to survive that distance, especillay since it doesn't roll yet........
Brad
stepside454 12-24-2006, 03:43 PM You guys up there in St. Louis are more than welcome to attend this fall ;)
I hope to put something together
LUV2XCLR8 12-24-2006, 09:52 PM I hope to put something together
My mother is in Chesterfield, it's 275 miles from her door to my door :hm:
You guys up there in St. Louis are more than welcome to attend this fall
as long as you bring me some Cardinals stuff :) WORLD CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!
LUV2XCLR8 12-25-2006, 07:48 AM I already got my stuff, you don't have yours yet? I 'm shocked
Don't mean to get off topic, but somebody in my house does.
stepside454 12-25-2006, 12:58 PM LOL Cute Cute
magnethead 12-25-2006, 05:08 PM I
have one question left, are you set-up for a Board version of Overhaulin ? ? ?
That sounds good
I may have to take out a loan to get mine down there LOL.
no kidding?
I could probably make it..but yea, a 454 + that far of a drive = the fuel bill will equal my truck's weight. Plus being i dont have a job, my dad would kill me for said fuel bill.
Other than that, i'd love to go. 2 gallons shy of 500 miles each way for me.
CAL 58 GMC 12-25-2006, 11:27 PM I would love to go, but it's to far for me. I'm sure someone will post some cool pics though!
cstanley 12-26-2006, 12:04 AM well, i have the wife mostly convinced...says she'll only go if there's a live band/music. so everyone bring your stuff. nothin' better than a bunch of truck guys and gals trying to string together a few notes!
I have about most of the tools here we would need to do just about everything, most are of the cheaper version though......lol. and what kind of music does she like :)
Sammy 12-26-2006, 08:27 AM Sounds like a good time & good suggestions..The idea of bringing stuff to swap thru a thread sounds great..I am sure we all have stuff stored that others may be interested in too. If a sponsor from the site makes the trip we could preorder for delivery at the event and save big bucks on the costs of shipping those items that you wouldn't normally order because the shipping nitemare for both..So a win win for everyone..I can't carry a tune unless it's on a CD player but I am willing to tap my foot around a camp fire drink something cold and enjoy the music then stumble back to my truck for rest to prepare for the next days activity...

68gmcdually 12-26-2006, 01:37 PM According to your countdown I need to be on the road in 189.5 days.
That doesn't give me much time to get the tranny rebuilt.

According to my Tennessee calender, Sat, 7th. Sunday, 8th. Monday,9th. Do we make an adjustment or let it ride? I am not working at present and anytime works for me.
Ron 586 12-26-2006, 10:19 PM none taken but i know i am worth seeing even if it is for a day :)
Hell James I've been trying to sneak in a 2 day trip to your area for 6 months and can't make it happen. Every time I think it's gonna work out something comes unclutched here and here we go again. But I'm going to make the meet at your place if blood is not flowing. (especially mine.)
LUV2XCLR8 12-27-2006, 02:57 AM friday saturday and sunday,i believe that falls on the 7th 8th and 9th

According to my 2007 Classic Trucks Calender, Friday is the 6th

Our groups would most likely come leave here early Sat., maybe 7:00 AM, get there before noon, assuming none of these Chevys take a crap along the way. than head back for home around noon Sunday. John
the 6th is a friday, if you have a windows pc, double click the clock go to 07 and find july
cstanley 12-27-2006, 10:41 AM I have about most of the tools here we would need to do just about everything, most are of the cheaper version though......lol. and what kind of music does she like :)
don't matter
bluegrass, rock, jazz, billy bob on his french harp... long as it's in-person. even if it's a really bad bunch of truck lovers...
for me, just the purr of a bunch of chevys...
otherwise, i'll just sit her down with the mountain dulcimer and let her entertain herself...
LUV2XCLR8 12-27-2006, 12:36 PM the 6th is a friday, if you have a windows pc, double click the clock go to 07 and find july
 I know that, what I'm saying is, is James gonna fix his dates? :hm:
*Most peeps will come Saturday anyways so gonna leave clock as is

Are we there yet? :haha:
Ron 586 12-28-2006, 01:16 AM If I start packing now I might be ready to leave on time.
LUV2XCLR8 12-28-2006, 02:54 PM Hmmm, I may be there in "Merlot" looks as if "GQ" could be sold :(
LUV2XCLR8 12-28-2006, 02:56 PM I may be rolling on new shoes :D
BowTieOgre 12-28-2006, 04:41 PM Im planning on being there at least for 2 days. My dad was raised in Rolla and this is a really good excuse for him to go visit his brother and an even better one for me to meet some of my board brethren!
LUV2XCLR8 12-28-2006, 04:42 PM I may be there all 4, look out James :exit:
Ron 586 12-28-2006, 05:11 PM Hmmm, I may be there in "Merlot" looks as if "GQ" could be sold :(
Say it ain't so. GQ won't be happy anywhere else. You'll miss her when she's gone.
LUV2XCLR8 12-28-2006, 05:22 PM Maybe Ron, but IF it goes it's going to a good place ;)
(Back to Cali, the PO is interested in buying her back)
Ron 586 12-28-2006, 07:08 PM That would be great. Good luck and maybe something will work out good for a change.
Ron 586 12-28-2006, 11:40 PM friday saturday and sunday,i believe that falls on the 7th 8th and 9th
:)
I am going to go on the assumption that since Boss said Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, that the actual dates will be July 6,7,8. I hope to see official conformation on this soon as I'm going to book my room soon. I don't think I'll be bringing the nova so might be able to get in on the swap meet part and bring extra tools in case we have a lot of work going on. I understand that it is early and things can and will change but will roll with the flow. Can't wait to meet as many as I can in three days. So throw out ideas and suggestions and help make this a big success. Thanks
LUV2XCLR8 12-29-2006, 06:11 AM I was in CHAT with him last night and told him to fix those dates, he didn't
68gmcdually 12-29-2006, 02:18 PM Hopefully there is room for our camper still, the wife is actually getting excited about going. We where thinking of getting someone to watch our young lad, but now she wants to bring him as well. Should be fun 2000 mile road trip with a 9 month old. Spent 12 hours in a car one day with him and he liked it so it can't be much worse.
69cruiser 12-29-2006, 02:34 PM Count me in, just a mere 30 hour trip from Cranbrook BC, Canada to norwood missouri but hey, good chance to break in the truck and see how well that little 283 runs, if its done by then.. if not then i will see what i can scrounge up to drive myself down there.
- Cory
Ron 586 12-29-2006, 10:06 PM 69cruiser, will be looking forward to meeting you in July. If you don't mind me asking what do you have the 283 installed in?
LUV2XCLR8 12-30-2006, 08:00 AM Yehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, This already sounding like an Invasion :D
Ron 586 12-30-2006, 10:45 AM Norwood Mo. will not know what is going on out at "Da Boss House" when this goes down. Can't wait to be part of it.
