Thanks for the EASTERN support, I am 5-6 hours from this and I am offering
my place as a pit stop for anyone Easterly wanting to come to the meet. I'm
leaving out here on that Friday, but anyone coming further who needs a bed
for Thursday night just let me know since I am off work Wed - Sun, Craig ;)

Craig,

I would gladly take you up on your offer, but I think that TN is out of the way by a few hundred miles for us. We are pulling out on Thursday morning, it is only a 1,100 mile trip for us, but with driving the '68 towing the trailer with a 9 month old in the truck it might be a very long 1,100 mile trip. My wife is still loooking forward to it, which surprises me. Can't wait to meet y'all.

James,

No problem, but are you sure? j/k Glad to see that my offer is at least
worthy of being considered and likewise on the "Can't wait to meet y'all" ;)

Craig;

From my house to yours, (using your zip)
Total Est. Time: 16 hours, 24 minutes Total Est. Distance: 974.11 miles

From my house to Boss'
Total Est. Time: 17 hours, 27 minutes Total Est. Distance: 1066.32 miles

So as much as I would love to go to TN and meet you a whole day earlier I think that it is kind of redundant.

If your still going to Wawa this summer, I will extend the same offer to you, except for I mapquested that as well from your house to Wawa and you won't be anywhere near my side of the province.

lets see... that's after graduation, and about a month before I start my job. I might be able to squeeze it into my schedule.

I plan on roughing it, and by roughing it, I mean an air mattress under the hard top (the wonders of no rear bench). see yall there.

if anyone's coming up from the south on I-44, give me a holler and we can form a posse.

All this talk about getting together and convoys almost makes me wish I lived farther away so I could join in the fun. But this is where it's at folks, getting together and having a good time. Start making plans to make the trip and join the fun at the 2ed Board Wide Meet July 6th 7th 8th 2007 in Norwood Mo. We gonna have a good time at the Boss House. Come and join us.

I have too get the transmission rebuilt, radio installed, back seat installed and service the truck. Then I have to service the bearings on the trailer. Then I have to install new flooring in the house and trim the whole house, by next Sunday, as my wife is hosting a bridal shower for her best friend here and we are in full blown renovation mode. At least after the house is more or less complete next week I can concentrate on the truck. The way that I am going with it right now though I will be bringing the FURD.

Good luck with your project smbrouss70. My list is short but you stand a better chance than me of having your ride there. I will be there however even if it is not in the '68. I went through what your are going through the day of my wedding in 2005. At 2:40 my father, my brothers, my best man, the ring bearer and I, plus countless other people where bolting the seats in and hooking up the gas line, I ran home, showered, threw on my tux and raced for the church, which was 20 km away, They followed suit (literally) and the service started promptly 30 minutes late, but I got to drive my truck there and line it up with the other classics in front of the church, I was on cloud nine and it is something that I will remember for life. That was its first trip on the road and it took me to next chapter in my life. Last september I wanted to pick up my wife and newborn son up from the hospital with the '68 but alas it was not practical, so after a few days of getting used to handling him I took him for a little drive around town.

id love to drive the '67 up there but hmm... 524 mi. @ 7 mpg... that's 74 gallons @ $2.60 a gallon which turns out to be roughly $194.62!!!! times two for the trip back. anyone wanna donate to the broke college student fund?? :( i might borrow the madre's chrysler pacifica for the trip it gets about 33 mpg on the highway + a/c. hmmm

In preperation for the trip to MO I am actually in the middle of rebuilding and recurving the HEI in my 71 I found the vacuum advance was not working at all and the advance springs and weights needed some attention. I have read that no vacuum advance can cost you up to 5mpg. I am looking forward to the trip with my ignition system in good shape. The money I am spending for the parts to do this should be made up with better gas mileage pretty quickly, at least I hope so!

Drove mine about 200 miles round trip Saturday to the Memphis SCS,
seemed to do pretty good, if I get the bugs out I'm driving it instead
of pulling it. But ............... I also gave out my number 8 times on it

Not sure if this is covered in the thread (and too lazy to read it all), but have you all ever had workshops at the board meet before? Looking around the board it sems there are a lot of good questions, answers, and forums on welding, body work, suspension, etc. Just a suggestion -- it might be cool to have some organized workshops for those in attendance so they can learn and share in person.
