Ok guys and gals we have dates and a place for the 2nd board wide meet this coming year :) It will be in Norwood,Missouri 65717 on July 7th 8th and 9th,so lets hear who all is coming and what you would like to do once here?We are still working on all the details and if you have any input at all just chime in and lets hear the ideas you have.We have alot of members helping with this but would love input from everyone :) Everyone is welcome and even bring the kids if you have them, and although seeing alot of truck show up would be nice, it is not necessary(i showed up at the first one in a ford)lol!!

being there all 3 days, I plan on sleeping somewhere part of that time, If
all goes well I'll be driving "Merlot" to the event, if not it will be the F150.
Anything I can to help just let me know, also will this be a swap meet to?
I have things to unload, and I may still have some of them in July, cya ;)

Longhorn man, and 1969k10stepside, you are missing the whole point of having a notice of this event posted 6 months before it is going to happen. You mark this down on the calender and make everything else fit it. So correctly stated, I don't know what I'm doing this week or next month but July7-9 2007 I'm going to be hanging out with my family out in Norwood Mo. so if you want to hang with me that's where I'll be. With this much notice ain't no reason not to make it.

:metal: LMAO Ron^ Looking forward to it. Just don't mention swapmeet to my wife. She can't understand why I'm always hauling parts when we go out of town. I may have to hide them in the trunk.

Just like the first one :) we tried to find a place that was AFFORDABLE ( ie we dont have to pay out a few hundred just to rent ;) ) as well as pretty much central location to all. Everyone who is interested has plenty of time to plan in advance, make a family vaca etc. It will be well worth the trip.

Norwood looks to be about 40 miles east of Springfield and is a small town. I'm sure they don't have a jail big enough for all of us. :)

Liz
12-20-2006, 02:36 PM
They do however have 80 acres with 20 cleared at our disposal ;)
Also nearby towns and I believe Ron has been checking out a local track as well.

Ron 586
12-20-2006, 02:52 PM
I'm still waiting for Boss to tell me where it's at and give me a name of the track so I can Google it or see if they have a web site. But after thinking about it it might not be a good idea to bring it and tie up all afternoon and evening and Sat. night at the drag strip unless more than just BBB and me were interested in it. He and I can pull off the photo shoot anytime with just him and me and someone to run the camera.

Well lets get the info and see what can be done. Was there a reason it had to be saturday only? Usually when we did club test n tunes it was a sunday afternoon or a fri night? I have talked to a few others who were interested in doing that as well. Just like the rest tho, all in planning stages.

I will be there! I am coming from Washington State to take part. West coasters, I saw you posting saying you wanted another one of these and that you would attend. So put it on you calender and lets make this a great event with lots of us there. This is also following the 4th of July so it may be easier for you to get away.

I've got it on my calendar for all three days and the wife requested off too. It's about a nine hour drive with a five year old but it's worth it to meet a great bunch of folks in person. I'll probably have to drive my Dodge:crazy: . Oh well!
Is there a particular hotel/motel the group is going to try and use?

Liz
12-20-2006, 04:41 PM
its 13hr drive for us with 3 between the ages of 3 and7 and redneckgirl /centsless have about 18 hrs with 4 lil ones around those ages.

For those who may be wondering this is a family thing so the more the merrier

Good news!!!!!, well at least for some :) The Alaskan Nightmare/Cruise that I have to go on with the in-laws is July 11-18, not the week before like I thought. So I should be able to get over there if they'll let me off for that much time.

Ron 586
12-20-2006, 05:06 PM
yellow69, I hope you won't be to tired from your cruise cause my cookout is on July 21, 2007. And it just won't be right without you being here.

I was just thinking that the track would be open on Sat. for racing. That means time trials would be in the afternoon (4-7) with racing starting at 7 or 8. I read somewhere about maybe getting the restaurant for the Sat. evening meal and BS session. I wouldn't want to miss that. But like I have said all along I will do whatever the majority wants to do. We have time for a change or two.

YES - I know this is relatively closer for me than most

YES - I know it's a little over 6 months away from now

YES - I know that it will be a expense to all that attend

YES - I know that we will all have to make some sacrifices

NO - Is the answer to the question -> "Would I Miss This?"

Sounds like a great start off for most :) After the holidays and my surgery on the 8th i will contact the motels around here and see what kind of discount we can get from them ok.Also if anyone is up for camping there is plenty of space here for that :) A few miles from here there is a beautifull spring fed creek where we can all go to kool off if it gets to warm for us ok?Ron i will try to get what info i can about the 1/8th drag here as soon as i can bud.

Thanks to the whole team that put this together!!! I am planning to drive my beat-up '72 X-C to go :)

On a sad note, my father passed away last year on 7.2 and I need to drive to Minnesota this year to spread his ashes on his favorite lake. That puts me a good part of the way there and I can't think of anything better to get me back in the spirit than to hang out with some of the great people from this board.

Don't worry about that as it is not the end of the world either way. I wasn't aware of your health problems being still in the picture. Have your surgery and get better and then we will pick this back up. Number 1 priority is you get healthy.

Hmmmm, only 1066 miles from my door to there, sounds doable. The truck will handle it towing the trailer & the wife will still be on maternity, I might just try to swing it.

Wouldn't hurt to have 3 more canadians there. I will do my best.

WOOOHOOO, asked the wife last night, got the WHY? question, told her that it would be a good time. She said that if we can afford it we can go, and I think that she is actually looking forward to it!! I am getting the tranny rebuilt in the truck this winter, so that would be a good shake down period. Might have to call on the member's list for help though.

Boss do you think you can sleep to the sound of 20/30 generators running so the a/c works in those campers. Point me in the direction of the closest motel. I have made contact with the drag strip and they don't have the 2007 schedule out yet and they run classes and may not run brackets. Will stay with it tho.

or why they would need generators? this will be a all day event, with all

anyone really think we will have time to do anything but sleep? :D
