View Full Version : If you would be so kind....
SlickSierra77 12-23-2006, 05:12 AM Im really considering changing the taillights on my 77 to 94+ s-10 just flipped and reversed. Is there any way someone could help me out by putting the flipped lights off the s-10 on the pic of my 77? And if you want to get really crazy you could shave the tailgate smooth for me :) Any help would be greatly appreciated. :metal:
Thanks
Primer69er 12-23-2006, 11:19 AM hows this? close to what you want?

Oh yea 700 posts
PunkyGoose 12-23-2006, 06:33 PM flipped??
flipped??
I think the S10 in the OP already have them flipped from stock. So you flipped the flipped. I think they look better like you've done them... but I don't really like the S10 taillight very much to start with.
SlickSierra77 12-23-2006, 06:51 PM Wow thanks a bunch guys for all your help.:metal: XXL do you know of any other taillights that might look good? AesC10s here are some more pics for ya.
72armyswbtruck 12-23-2006, 06:53 PM Very Interesting
PunkyGoose 12-23-2006, 07:05 PM XXL you are correct - I did flip them back! after seeing them, I am with you on the S10 lights (anyway you filp them!) Nice truck the way it is.
AesC10s 12-23-2006, 07:12 PM Good looking truck man. did you race it at woodburn at any time? i use to live in beaverton and i saw a truck like yours there a few times.
Aaron
ghetto_superman 12-23-2006, 08:40 PM wow that looks BADASS with the upside-down ones!!! makes me want to get one of those trucks JUST to have those lights on it!!
SlickSierra77 12-23-2006, 10:10 PM Good looking truck man. did you race it at woodburn at any time? i use to live in beaverton and i saw a truck like yours there a few times.
Aaron

XXL do you know of any other taillights that might look good?
Nothing's really jumping out at me, but here are some I threw together...
SlickSierra77 12-24-2006, 12:27 AM hmmm i dont know about any of those. but i really appreciate the effort that you did. If any other ideas pop into your head i would love to see them.
hmmm i dont know about any of those.
Agreed.
Blackcypress-EB 12-29-2006, 12:49 AM If you like them, I will tell you what they are from. Any guesses:)?
AesC10s 12-29-2006, 12:52 AM Are they out of a ford van?
pimperout 12-29-2006, 02:55 AM :agree: i was gonna guess that to
N2TRUX 12-29-2006, 04:41 AM Here's what it would look like flipped or not flipped. Either way they look crooked to me..:)
chevguy7 12-29-2006, 04:52 AM What about putting the tail lights into the roll pan. Something like what XXL did but one on either side of the license plate. I don't have a program to do it on otherwise I would. Just thought I would throw out the idea.

I guess I haven't thought about that, they may have had crossover parts, but this particular set came from an original Bronco. I like it, but you would have to french in some side markers, maybe some from a 68-72 chevy or similar vehicle. The early broncos had this style side markers.

Alright... my Alienskin glow filter isn't working right and my machine with gifcon on it isn't booting, so... just pretend I animated this thing and tell me what a wonderful job I did. I even had it pulsing from inside to outside (as in PP, then O+I, then T+N, then S+G lighting up) :whine:
SlickSierra77 01-02-2007, 08:10 PM wow guys those are some crazy ideas lol. keep em coming
kylejamers 01-02-2007, 10:32 PM i actually think the supra tails are aesthetically pleasing:cool:
Primer69er 01-03-2007, 07:38 AM i second that, supra lights look good on alot of vehicles
i second that, supra lights look good on alot of vehicles
Especially Supras ;)
chevguy7 01-04-2007, 03:35 PM I am actually surprised at how good they look. Have any of you ever tried corvette lights?
killthewabbit 01-04-2007, 06:37 PM i second that, supra lights look good on alot of vehicles
Funny you guys should mention that. I saw Supra lights today on a truck very similar to the one pictured at an Advance here in Nashville, and it just didn't look right. I think maybe it was because it wasn't lowered and only had 15" wheels.
Kevin45 01-04-2007, 08:25 PM With the square body I think this is the best looking out of all of them.

I think the flipped S10 lites look pretty nice, but only if they were straight. I agree they look a little crooked on the first picture that N2TRUX posted...

Problem is that the X, Y, and Z axes of the lens aren't at right angles to each other. If you level off that leading edge that runs down the bed side, you'll lose the vertical edge that runs top to bottom. That lens on this year-range truck requires at least one "crooked" edge. :(
bw4sale 01-05-2007, 12:08 PM since we're talking about it...
kylejamers 01-05-2007, 04:13 PM mount them vertically on the bedsides
and i think it may look better:bling:
since we're talking about it...
Well pshopped, but the Supra lights don't work. They're too "Euro," and if Euro was ever even in style, it's definitely out now. This year model truck needs something linear, probably horizontal (which the Supra lights do), but without any round lines for the eyes to pick up on. The only way I see the Supra lights accomplishing this is if the entire lens was candy'd red. Even that may not quite do it because of the weight of the circles inside the unit.
bw4sale 01-05-2007, 04:46 PM I do like them better all red. Key word is better. They remind me a little too much of that one roll pan that was sooooo popular back in the 90's that mimiced what I guess was the corvette tails. No offense to anyone that still has that roll pan on their truck.
mount them vertically on the bedsides
I tried that and it didn't even look good in photoshop. Oh well. The search for the perfect taillights continues...
...back in the 90's that mimiced what I guess was the corvette tails.
That's it! That's what bothers me about them. :whine:
Blackcypress-EB 01-05-2007, 09:56 PM They are a little too ricey looking on an American truck for me. They look like they belong on a Ferrari. I'm a knuckledragger though, so pay no attention.
+1 on the 'vette pan
FarmTruk 01-06-2007, 05:55 AM I like frenched Caddy lights myself, but I can't chop :whine:
