What should I look for in an SD card for a digital camera? My card seems kinda slow It's just a Lexar cs 256mb card. I keep seeing what they call high speed transfer rates & don't know what is a high speed as compared to a slow speed(if they gave it in mph conversion rates that would help) Thanks,Mike

SD?

There is typically a number associated with your card - 66x, 100x, 120x or 133x or something like that. IIRC, the higher the number the faster the possible speed. Many times, though, the device reading the card has the most effect - some devices just read/write from/to the card slowly. Some won't do anything with the higher speed card.

I just picked up a 2GB SD 133x Patriot brand SD card on Amazon a while ago for $40. Good buy, pretty quick.

SanDisk supposedly has marginally slower write times. Lexar supposedly has faster write times. I've seen this info in a couple of places, but can't comment on how true it is. Google for "Sd card read write times" and you'll probably find a lot of info.

Check Best Buy and Circuit City for after X-mas sales. I just picked up a 2gig SD for 29.95 with an instant rebate at Best Buy.
