The bushings on the rear leafs and shackels are BAD on my 94 C1500 Sierra.. Ive been pushing it for almost 25k now and the clunking/ squeaking from the springs is getting REAL bad.
I just priced New GM springs (I get a discount price @ work) They are wayy too much at $350+ a piece.
First question. Where can I get stock height rear springs of good quality for a cheaper prices?
I would rather buy 2 new springs, bolts and shackels for ease of installation. Ya know.. I could prolly swap them out in an hr.
Do any of the 99-2007 trucks use the same size leafs as 88-98s (As I could maybe find a better set of them then 88-98s if I were to go used) Again.. I would really like to make it a quick swap out job.
2nd question Sure, I could reuse the 125k springs I have now... How hard is replacing Leaf spring bushings? Do they get stuck in there? We have this nasty 20ton press in the back of the shop that might do it.
Thanks.
