Shane Jdog44 12-30-2006, 11:51 PM Just found out That AZ is going to require a yearly sticker for off road vehicles. doh! there goes the savings from not having the blazers emissioned Aarons72s 01-01-2007, 06:50 AM Here is a question. What is with the wood burning regulation in the last setence? 784X4GUY 01-01-2007, 09:04 AM Those A#$holes, when I lived down there they made everyone get tested. Kinda makes me wanna move back, no wait a minute.....No way.... 68K20 01-01-2007, 11:44 AM IIRC, Pima and Maricopa are the only counties in AZ that emissions check, I have lived in Cochise County since 89, and have never had a vehicle inspected, (excluding out of state vehicle "safety" inspection which is a joke, my 68 K20 had completely bald high-bias tires on rusty split rims). So if you live out side those two counties it is a moot point, I could be wrong though, it is known to happen from time to time. :o Jdog44 01-01-2007, 02:29 PM Here is a question. What is with the wood burning regulation in the last setence? On high pollution days we have a no burn day. No wood burning in the fireplaces. The funny thing is you can still have outside fire pit fires and not get cited. If you live outside the major metro areas you dont have to get your car tested. But if you work or go to school there you do. Years ago people would get PO box addresses in another area to avoid the testing Aarons72s 01-01-2007, 02:39 PM Thanksa for the repl Jdog44. That is messed up. I hope what thge epa says goes into effect for you guys. Emission regs suck. randy70 07-26-2009, 05:34 PM new guy here from goodyear,az. im stressin bout getting my 72 blazer emissioned. i know i can get it to pass just tired of the crap we maricopa co. residents have to deal with. jdfrmnt 10-24-2009, 07:31 PM so whats the story do i have to get my 70 smoged or not Richard8971 10-24-2009, 11:04 PM What sucks for me is that '67 and newer vehicles still have to be tested! DOH!!! My truck doesn't have cats and never will. :) All I have to pass is an idle test but still sucks. When I got her in Oregon there were no emission tests required and I got a 2 year tag, that was cool! D Jdog44 10-24-2009, 11:09 PM so whats the story do i have to get my 70 smoged or not Yes unless you get aproved classic car insurance Richard8971 10-24-2009, 11:27 PM Yes unless you get aproved classic car insurance I drive my truck daily. The requirements for classic ins are pretty strict. I would rather pay the 50 bucks (25 for tags and 25 for my vintage plate) a year and the little bit more for "daily driven" ins than to be limited to when I can take my truck out. My full coverage ins (truck valued at 15K) is still under 70 a month, no biggie. Besides, with these old vehicles, getting them to pass can be pretty easy... not like some of the crap (and big $$$) you have to deal with on newer cars! Not to mention the increased $$$ for tags! Don Yeah for a dd that would be better but a lot of these trucks are not dd anymore. SCOTTMO 10-26-2009, 11:47 PM My truck is fuel injected,so it passes like it is not even running, but they always give me a hard time about my gas cap,i have one of those none removable one's that have the little flap for the pump nozzel to go into when i fill it up... seems like they get off on getting us guys to fail tdkosta 11-08-2009, 11:16 AM Emission Test Exemptions Expanded to Collectible Vehicles and Motorcycles PHOENIX (April 2, 2007) -- The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and the Arizona Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Division (ADOT/MVD) today announced that collectible vehicles registered in Phoenix and Tucson testing areas will be exempt from emission tests. Motorcycles registered in the Tucson testing area will also be exempt. The exemption begins with April 2007 vehicle registration renewals under a plan recently approved the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). EPA studies show that exempting such vehicles from the emission testing program would not interfere with meeting and maintaining health-based standards for ozone and carbon monoxide, and would present no significant degradation of air quality. "We are pleased that EPA has approved our request to exempt collectible vehicle owners and motorcycle riders from the emissions inspection requirement," said ADEQ Director Steve Owens. "These vehicles are not harming our air quality, so their exemption is well-deserved." "MVD welcomes this opportunity to work with the EPA, ADEQ and the insurance industry so that collectible vehicle registrations can renew quickly and easily online at www.ServiceArizona.com ," said MVD Director Stacey K. Stanton. The new regulation requires that owners of collectible vehicles carry special collectible vehicle insurance. Arizona insurance companies must report the special coverage to MVD electronically before the registration renewal - with emissions exemption - can occur. Has anyone done this and been exempt? t korinek 11-19-2009, 02:15 AM Yes I have it on 2 of my vehicles, it works well, I have hagerty classic car insurance. & no emission testing. Tom |
