Looks like a good father son project to me. It is remarkable how many parts are available for these trucks. I don't know what your plans are for it but ask lots of questions on here and you will get good answers. I have only been a member on here for a short while and I have gotten all sorts of help. I am in the process of replacing the floors in my dad 52 and have already done the firewall. If I can be of assistance let me know and check out my build thread and also Daniels 54 thread.

I like the father/son projects. Espeacially when they involve Chevy trucks. Keep the progress pics coming. Looks like a bunch of work, but they are well worth it when finished!

I am waiting on the Big Brown truck to deliever the inner cowl panels before I can get back on the floor. I will post some more pictures when I get back to it. I worked on the camaro yesterday and today was honey do day at the house. Probably won't get back on the truck until next weekend.

slow going for us.... about 10% of the bolts actually come off the right way.... 60%-70% snap in half as you break loose, the rest get cut off

we are still in tear down... got most of the bed ready to come off... the axle.springs will come out soon. he started on the body work on one fender today, we have a third member lined up for for the ford 9" rear, its got new gears/LSD never been been ran since build, $50 from a 4x4 buddy.

we posted some of our 4x4 builds in the 4wd pics section

Looks good! I found when I was taking my 53 panel truck apart I would heat up bolts and cool off quickly and then use an electric impact wrench. The bolts came out 99% of the time. This will save you a lot of time later.

been a while... we got some more of the tear down done, pulled the engine and started on the frame. my 14yo son did 99% of this work. he and a friend pulled the engine and started to wire brush the frame... then they stripped the firewall. he has spent alot of time after school working on this. he's got the rust removed from the hood and two fenders, all under primer.

he also pulled the rear 3rd out of the CJ and will be learning how to set up gears on saturday... he dont know it yet but he will also be doing the hydro booster for the brakes in the CJ and mounting the winch :hm:
