How's this look for the axle centeline?

It's a short bed 59 fleetside w/big window. I'm located in the bay area (Fremont). What's the SW area thread?

stuff the wheel further up into the well and look at it. It look a little to far forward to me. If the wheel goes up or the chassis goes down, it will look to far into the front of the opening.

Here's a couple more pics with the tire stuffed up. What are your opinions? Should I move the centerline back towards the cab a little? Thanks for all the input.

I have to tell you, you are making some super good pictures showing the wheel in it's place. But there is nothing like walking around the side of the truck. Go up and back and get a good look at it from a number of angles. There is no way I would want to say "Yep, from the third picture you have it" and tell you to weld it in place. YOU need to have the truck out way from any wall or other cars and down on the ground so you can stand back and really take a look at it.

Having the truck up at a height that it will never be seen again once it is done is not the way to go. You need it sitting EXACTLY as it will be when done. Front and rear height right, stand back and look at it.

I have to agree with MartinSR. tack it up firmly and get it on the ground. walk around it and see just how it looks from 10 ft 15 ft. remember that just because both wheel look like they are centered in the opening the cross member may not be square with the frame.
Square with the frame is the primary concern. I'm thinking back an inch no more than 2

Thanks for all the input! I guess I'm going to have to buy wheels & tires to see if it sits right. I'll be installing a 4-link in back as soon as I find a rear end. Cal 58 GMC, what backspacing did you get on your wheels?
