Hello all, Well in a couple of months I will be doing a engine swap in my 1988 swbc 1/2 ton. It has the 350 TBI Vin code K. Ive struggling weather to go crate or remanufactured. Ive found a company that reman a long block for $996 plus core, or you could get a longblock from same company with the rv cam for $1096 plus core. (www.cmengines.com) The upgrades that are planned with swap are edelbrock performer intake and a set of edelbrock headers that work with A.I.R. injection on my truck. Ive already got a k/n drop in and the home depot special $2.49 intake. In the future I plan on adding a cam plus true duels. This is a daily driver and I dont plan on building a race truck just a fun driveing truck. Any input from you guys would be appreciated. Also the reman comes with a 12 warranty or for 150 more a 3 year warranty.

What are you using for feeding the fuel to the engine? If it is a TBI, will it and the computer be able to blend with the RV cam.

The computer may not work well with the cam in the rebuilt motor.

After much thought I just decided to go with the crate motor. I just figured that when I start added performance mods it will be best to start with a quality foundation. But Thanks for the Input. This message board has lots of great information.
