Nice vidio but you really could not get a good feel for it untill the last frame from out side the car as it took off and was just gone.

I think I will still go for a twin turbo LS motor:devil:

Last I saw the cab/doors were back from the strippers & some 'not-so-easy' decisions needed to be made. The cab roof is less than desirable so the dilemma is what to do to get it right w/o being on 'nic-name' terms w/the president of his bank  .

Got an update. New engine came in. Its a 572. Here are a few pics. Not so impressive in the looks department, but it made 711 hp on the dyno with pump gas. A little paint and polishing is needed.

They make some seriously badass cars. Turbo, Supercharged, and all motor.

Film Guy- Don't let the rice boy tell you your engine isn't pretty enough. Just use that GO-pedal!

Hi Guys, I'm not really sure where to begin, It's a very long story. Quick recap. I have a long bed 72 Cheyenne Super (big block). I want a short bed on air, in the weeds rollin 20's. Started with a original short bed 68 chassis. Stripped it and installed a KP Components notch. Installed a Fatman Fab MII front suspension w/ Shockwaves. Upgraded the brakes to a Willwood 6-piston front caliper and a 13 inch rotor. Ordered the wheels. Custom made Forge line 3-piece. Fronts are 20x10 and the rears are 20x12.5. Out back is a Ford 9-inch w/ Nodular case 31 spline axles and a Detroit Tru-trac. Again Willwood brakes 4 piston internal parking brake type. CPP trailing arms connect to a E.C.E. cross-member. I have been accumulating parts to make this happen for 2 years. I'm just glad to see it roll.

Your truck looks great! I wanted to ask you about the FatMan MII front - what are the spindles and hubs? MII, C10's, fatman's that go with this front clip? Are you planning on a sway bar? (don't think I saw one in the thread) The fat man suspension looks like a great choice, I think the only one I've seen in all the great builds on this site - interested in your feedback.

I've spoken w/Filmguy on several ocassions about his truck since we're in the same area & frequent the same shop & he's mentioned that he would have gone the Porterbuilt Dropmember route had they been available @ the time.

I know he used a FM 'bolt-in' style kit that's been heavily tweaked to get it exactly how he wanted it. He & the SOS guys did an outstanding job. I can't wait to see the final product (& go for a spin around the block ;) ).

Last I saw, the frame was getting boxed from the front MII install back to the trailing arm crossmember. The cab had been set back on the frame.

Checked on it last night. Another round of bed mods are almost complete. They revised the way the bed floor was raised for a 'more professional' result. The previous method was simple & effective but not the quality that a truck of this caliber deserves.

They also started doing some cab repair that wasn't noticed when the truck was in paint (older/previous paint). I intended to take some pics but my camera battery was about dead.

I know the project has slowed slightly but they're still trying to push forward regardless. I don't think much has been done over the last couple of weeks as other projects w/immediate pay-off were a focus vs. the long term builds.

It's not a focus @ the shop right now during the holiday buzz. Maybe he'll start back up in the spring.

I'm assuming they're taking the hard way out with the bed.I give them kudos for that!
I needed to raise my floor just over 2" to clear my minor drop, but I didn't want to cut a hole in my new wood floor and I didn't like the looks of the most common method of a raised floor.
Now,after alot of cutting and roughly 30' of welding,I have a very stock looking bed that clears everything.
I can't wait to see your project finished!

I asked a while back but he wasn't sure. I know the rear is narrowed slightly & based on my 'semi-formal' measurements (using a tape measure w/the wheel/tire mounted on the truck & sitting on the ground), I estimated the BS-ing to be between 6-7".

My 68 had 20x10/s w/5.50"bs & stock width rear housing. FilmGuy said his wheels are 12.5" wide so with a stock width rear that would require roughly 8.0"bs. Subtract the difference for the narrowed rear (1-2" per side, he couldn't remember for sure), that puts you @ 6.00bs".

The question/unknown is whether the narrowed measurement is based off of a 67-70 housing or a more likely 71-72 housing which is slightly wider.
