OK I have 4 tabs for home pages that all open up at one time when I open IE7. I have tried to remove one of them by clicking on the add or remove window as stated. It will NOT remove the one I want to delete! I just added a new one to replace it with and now I have 5 home pages coming up at once!!! ARGHHH!!! Anyone know the remedy for this? Thx, J:confused:

Go to IE Tools, Internet Options, then the General Tab. In the "Home Page" area, you probably have multiple lines with links on them - for each line with a link, a homepage will open in a tab when you open IE. Prune that list to only include the homepages that you want.
If this doesn't solve your problem, please explain why not in great detail, I might not be grasping what you're asking :).
PS - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/support/default.mspx#ie7Support is a page you can go to and see a lot of commonly asked questions - may or may not help.

You da Man Shifty! That fixed it!
I was clicking on the down arrow next to the "home" icon to bring up the "add/change or remove home page" option. when I would select the one I wanted to do away with, It wouldn't do it. Your way DID work.
BTW, could too many home pages loading on start-up cause the error "sysfader"? Once I got to 4 opening at one time, it started doing that. I'd have to close IE7 (it was automatic) then re-open it 2-3 times before it was stable...Just wondering...Thx so much, James:cool:

Can you give me the exact "sysfader" error message, word for word - just write it down the next time it comes up. I've heard of this one before, but lots of details out there are pretty ambiguous, so ... I'll need the exact error message to track things down in Microsoft's knowledge base.

You see that bar up top where "HP View" button is? Click on the empty part of the bar. Uncheck Norton first, then Uncheck "HP View".
Close all instances of the browser. Reopen.
Still happening?
I am thinking one of the BHO (browser helper objects) that were on the computer before upgrading to IE7 is causing this.

Oh - if you don't mind, one other thing....
You see the Tools button in the upper right corner? Click that and choose Manage Add-ons. From the dropdown box, choose "Add-ons Currently Loaded in Explorer". Click the top of the "Type" column to sort the items by their types.
Highlight each "Toolbar" and choose DISABLE.
Highlight each "Browser Helper Object" and choose DISABLE.
This will turn off all toolbars and BHOs - if this causes everything to work properly again, then we will know one of them is the culprit. You can re-enable them one by one once things get stable to figure out which it is. My money is on it being either the HP one or the Norton one.
