Hey smoked check out this thread! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=218706

I downloaded gimp and have been using it, I did not download the instructions so it's been a guessing game with me but it seems to do the job.

If you go to the Gimp website and click on turtorials, it looks like they have stuff for all skill levels. Start with some simple stuff and practice practice practice. Its like anything else, you need to get the feel of it. Open a pic and start using the tools just to see what they do. Even if the tutorials arent car related Im sure you can apply it to the stuff you wanna do. Oh and be sure to post pictures of your first trys...its fun to watch =)

Gimp is counter-intuitive in the worst possible way. However... free definitely beats the cost of pshop. Stick with it.

does gimp have a "magnetic lasso"? the freehand one makes it really jumpy and it doesnt look smooth. Just curious.

I don't think it does. I've had it for about two weeks and haven't found one yet. Check out the last page in my car domain to see a few I've done(last three pics.)
