Russell 01-11-2007, 10:19 PM Probally have to ship em freight, or greyhound... Unless you have a trucker buddy who is willing to run them over the border for you. northerngmc 01-11-2007, 10:32 PM I went to the Greyhound webpage but they did not make any mention of cross border shipping. Any one done this? pissonNOS 01-16-2007, 11:29 PM UPS? Fed ex? DHL ? just a few of the companies we use at work northerngmc 01-17-2007, 12:52 AM UPS wanted more for the shipping than I was going to pay for the wheels and tires. I am shopping local....... well not really as the nearest tire store is 274 kms away! 56chevy1300 01-17-2007, 08:11 PM I wouldn't use UPS they will charge you both before and after the sale. Try Fed Ex for the better rates. I don't know what DHL is though. Aren't there any vendors in Canada that carry the wheels you're looking for? What are you looking for? northerngmc 01-17-2007, 09:05 PM Yes I am sure there are Canadian vendors, BUT a board member in California was selling a set of 6 bolt Corvette rally wheels with tires. Said he would let me have them for $450 and he had only had them for 2 or 3 weeks. UPS wanted over $600 to ship them to me. Part of my problem is that there is not a tire store in the town I live in and the next town is 270 kms away. Really all I want is a set of 4X4 rally wheels and a new set of tires! classicchev 01-20-2007, 12:51 PM Here is a idea, ask a fellow board member who live close to the border,(Radman) for example, to ship to his address on the US side, then pick them up and ship them to you. Shipping to the US side is cheaper, no duty just taxes, plus the shipping to you. HeavyD 01-23-2007, 12:56 AM Greyhound will not ship parcels across the border anymore. If you use shipping, use anyone but UPS..their extra charges suck. northerngmc 01-23-2007, 12:32 PM Thanks guys. I have come to the conclusion that shipping wheels and tires into Canada is not economical. I have found an eBay seller that has wheels I like and will mail them into Canada for $100 for 4 wheels. 409biscayne 01-24-2007, 10:13 PM If any Canadians are interested in big pieces shipping into Canada , i'm willing to be a drop off point here in Spokane . We did this for a fellow member in Salmon Arm last summer , Greyhound from Cali to Spokane and he picked up here , obviously that doesn't work to the NWT , but we do have trucks from Spokane to Edmonton everyday , Westarm is one the other is Oak Hbr Freight which is Van Kam north of the border , it's more fun when you pick up here , and bring large amounts of Canadian beer , woo hoo . I guess i should also say i'm a Dynacorn dealer , aftermarket parts , cowl hoods , etc so if you're not getting a decent deal up north , call me . Tks eh ................................................ Doug 509 534-5700 HeavyD 01-25-2007, 12:56 AM Great offer 409! I think I will look you up when I am buying new parts. |
