Our cat got in the garage and climbed all over the hood of my primered truck and left transmission fluid footprints!
What is the best method to degrease the primer?

Cat degreaser works great. Twist cat 360 degrees and wipe off footprints with fur. Problem solved. :)

O.K. That was mean. I hope my wife didn't see that. Dish soap (Dawn) and water scrubbed on and washed off should do it.

Just twist 180 and use BOTH sides....:metal:
I hate to say this but IMO that fluid has soaked into the primer and after a good wash like Jeff said, sand it down and respray it in those areas. I would not think twice about it cause "if" it comes back on ya.........

I agree Mike, tranny fluid is like penetrating oil. Don't risk just a wash, wash it first, sand it down and respray it. Then buff it out with cat. PS, High speed!!

Turn cat inside out ... kick ... twist some more ... kick again ... then wash, sand and respray.

sounds like a $6.00 problem. $5.95 for a can of Klean Strip Pre Cleaner and $.05 for a .22 bullet.

Marlin .444 w/ Horniday LeveRevolution round. Will desinigrate the problem and you won't have to waist time with a burial. Oh yea, what >X< said about the klean Strip is a good idea.

Not the cat's fault, you have tranny fluid laying around near where you are painting? That is just asking for trouble having that leaky Ford around...;)

This thread is hilarious!!! Keep it coming..

You could also use the cat's tongue to sand it...

Tape sand paper to the cats feet, hold it's back firmly and apply laquer thinner on it's back side. You now have a high speed d/a to remove the contaminated primer. Or would that be a q/a...quad action....;)
