Why not just buy a 2 barrel carb? Or is the issue need of an intake?

I would say no advantage at all to go to an integral head.
You can get a 1BBl to 2BBl adaptor for $15 and still use your stock intake.
Then use a 2bbl Holley Weber and you'll be set!

Those heads are also prone to cracking. I would get a adapter or after market intake before I would put one of those heads on.

The integral head was not one of the general's better ideas. In addition to cracking, the air flow is terrible. You can swap heads to use the integral head, but in the long run I don't think you will be happy with it.

well i got a better one for you offandhouser makes a 4bb intake that will give you better gas milage and a lot more Horse power and there alum and never heard them checking 3-5 diffrent companys use them they even make a tri power with 3 carbs 3 2bb carbs that will get you up to 900 cfm's when you open full throtal

I had an Offy intake with two single barrels, and one with a 390 cfm Holley. Trust me, neither had the drivability or gas mileage of the progressive Holley Weber 2bbl.236791

Call up Tom Langdon at www.stoveboltengineco.com . He can give you an education on the subject. He should be able to set you up with everything you need to run the Holley-Weber carb, and at a decent price. Dual Holley-Weber's is a nice setup, but the manifolds aren't cheap.

Whether or not it is a good setup is personal preference. I was looking for reliability an better gas mileage. The 2 bbl gave me that.

I should say after i got past the hotrodding stage I decided to build the truck back close to how it was when my grandpa (Curt) bought it. Hence, the motor you see at left with a 1bbl Rochester!

Ol-curt what are the specs on your engine I see 4 barrel intake also headers did you do anything internally like bigger cam or is everything stock,how did it run with the intake-carb and headers,was it worth it.Sounds like the two barrel did better.
