View Full Version : 1969 Chevy CST/10 comes home [Long-term project "OrangeCrush"]
texanidiot25 01-13-2007, 08:57 PM 7am, and the morning is still cool. We jump into a friends truck, and head out.
Todays Mission: Pick up the CST/10.
So we get to the house its stored at, and back in the GMC pick up we borrowed for the day. chained it up to the CST/10, I jumped into the GMC, my dad took the CST/10. Things were tight (pull the CST/10 around a Camaro, across a drive way that goes over a ditch, and pull a tight right turn into the coldesac). No problems, nothing hit.

tow bar hooked up.

Thats GM brother hood, lol. GMC pulling the ol' Chevy.
And off we go. No misshaps towing it to a $1 pressure washer station, besides the CST/10 front tires screching around tight corners from stops. We spray some engine degreaser all inside the engine bay, and go get some drinks while it soaks.
Coming home was almost un-eventfull, at on point the hood poped up and caught the 2ndary latch, and one motor mount vibrated out, and off (landed loudly) once we got into our neighborhood.
Pull, up, un hitch, and the 1st before-cleaning-picture:

After an hour, and 2 buckets of water later, she's all orange again! :bling:

the difference
Its been dubbed "OrangeCrush". My grandma stepped out, and saw it. She said "Oh my, Yall should call it OrangeCrush".
So, I dig the name. This will be a slow project, all depends on what cash I make, Ive gotta pay for it all. :whine:
Time to get a job... :o
CPNEJR 01-13-2007, 09:01 PM sweet truck. its amazing what some elbow grease and soapy water will do
texanidiot25 01-13-2007, 09:03 PM Extremly, all though cleaning it cleaned all the blue paint out of the 8|350 logos on the side
jsbgump 01-13-2007, 09:10 PM Nice start. looks like you've got a solid truck to play with.
jimmydean 01-13-2007, 09:38 PM Wow, that is a great start for a great price. Any big plans?
68GMC454 01-13-2007, 09:43 PM nice truck..
texanidiot25 01-13-2007, 09:46 PM Right now, just to drop a EFI 350 into it, and get it driving.
Theres 4 noticeable trouble spots on this truck. Notice by the bumper, at the very edge of the fender, rusted through. Both rockers rusted. And on the passenger A-pillar. All can be fixed with patch panels, but Ill do that once I get out of highschool, so I can fix that, and repaint it. During highschool Ive got to watch out for idiot teens parking, doors hitting, jealouse kids, and mad ex's during the next 2 1/2 years, lol.
On down the road, after its running, Im thinking a 3/4 drop. Id like to get some 17in american racing wheels, but I dont thing they have the torque thrust in a 6-lug.

I like what CST stands for, "Custom Sport Truck". If anyone knows where I can find the VIN decoder, or knows it off hand, could ya point me in the right direction?
shaneschevys 01-13-2007, 11:24 PM That truck cleaned up nice. There should be a vin decoder on the forum home page.
too much stuff 01-13-2007, 11:27 PM Maybe some inspiration for you!!! My 69 cst/10. Looks like your truck has a lot of promise. Good luck with it. Eric
texanidiot25 01-13-2007, 11:50 PM Yeh, it shows my interior has some hope, lol. Its ragged out, the door pannels messed up, their not painted on the inside (where yours is red, mine was done black) seats torn on one side, with the foam gone. the dash pad cracked and half gone, steering wheel cracked.
I like how your doors are. Im going to take out the panels, repray them black, or what ever my choice of seats is, and then find some paint and redo the doors on the inside. Im sure I can find a similar orange just for the inside. Since the seats are so worn, we (if I say 'we', im refering to me and my dad. This is a father/son project pretty much) are going to get some late model seats. Maybe some cadillac bench seats, my dad is a Cadillac tech at a dealership, so he can get his hands on some cadi seats. The benches out of the last gen DeVilles with the arm rest that goes down, making it a comfy 2 seater. You know what I mean.
Your truck is sweet, the most inspiration is the interior. Mine is rough.
Its got an after market amp that powers up the radio for 5 seconds, then fades out. Haha, it has a short I assume, but some electrical systems work still.

http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p316/texanidiot25/Chevy%20homecoming/IMG_0102.jpg
too much stuff 01-14-2007, 11:49 AM I believe the maroon interior colors was a 1969 thing only. I thought that was a strange color combo when i got mine, but yours looks the same.
texanidiot25 01-14-2007, 12:31 PM Maybe it was part of the CST10 package. Then again, I have seen the stock interior of a C10 to compare.
I think the purple steering wheel center is rather odd. But otherwise the color of the panels and seats are the same as mine, only mine are just faded and missing color on the door panels.
Right now, Im just waiting for a few catalogs to come in. Then I can start making a list of parts.
hugger69SWBCST 01-14-2007, 03:26 PM Well My Truck Came With Black Seat, Steering Wheel, Door Panels, Carpeted Floor, dashpad, Etc. One Thing I Dint See In Your Parts Drescription That I See In My Truck Is: The Heavy Duty Suspension.
For The Most Part Your Truck Looks Alot Like My.
Congratulations In Your New Piggy Bank.
Palf70Step 01-14-2007, 03:29 PM Very Nice truck. You got a good solid one to build from!! :metal:
texanidiot25 01-14-2007, 03:34 PM Its like the 4th one down on the left list, Heavy Duty Rear spr.
One the VIN Decoder I found:
4x2, V8, 1/2 ton, 1969, Built in St Luis, and is truck # 85,901. But I dunno what the G at the end of my VIN means though, cant find that info.
texanidiot25 01-14-2007, 03:35 PM Very Nice truck. You got a good solid one to build from!! :metal:
Thanks Palf70Step. So far everything seems to be very solid on this truck. Good ol' Chevy quality :metal:
Get an LMC catalog for the illustrations and exploded diagrams, then find what you need with one of the board vendors.:D
hugger69SWBCST 01-14-2007, 04:04 PM NO, MINE AINT STEPSIDE BED, WELL ANYWAYS I THINK YOUR TRUCK RULES AND I DINT KNOW THE CTS ONLY CONFIGURATED THE 6% of the trucks build in 69 wish make them rare. Whaoo!!!
You better star thinking were youre going to put the stereo speakers at, since this trucks dont really have that much space for it. I was thinking cut my doors and put some 6x9s on it. ouch!!!!! But dont tell anyone becouse cutting this trucks is "Tabu" :=) I just got couple of little ones under the seat and it sound like crapp.
texanidiot25 01-14-2007, 04:19 PM Srry dude, I though swb was step side, and your name...
Anyhoo. Theres already some crappy ones in the doors. And the amp that powers the aftermarket radio/tapedeck player for about 3 seconds, then it shuts down, restarts, plays 3seconds, etc. Lol, so I might aswell get some good speakers later on, aswell as a good radio. Id like to get the vintage style radios that have the modern stuff in them, but I cant remember who makes it... Time to go dig through my many truckin mags that are laying around to find it, lol.
Krue-already have LMC on the way, that was my 1st thought ;) Then buying through here is a good idea, if I find the price is right. Didnt think about that really.
hugger69SWBCST 01-14-2007, 05:05 PM GO TO: www.hhclassic.com FOR THE RADIOS YOU WANT, THEYVE 2 DIFERENT ONES, THEYRE MAKE BY CHEVY I THINK SINCE THEYVE THE CHEVY LOGO ON THEM THIS PLACE ISNT VERY FAR FROM MY HOUSE AND I CAN RECOMEND THEM TO YOU. ONE OF THE RADIO MODEL HAD A CONNECTOR READY FOR CD CHANGER ON IT. THEYRE VERY NICE AND POWERFULL I THINKING ABOUT GET ONE MYSELF FOR MY TRUCK.
I WAS LOOKING AT THE CATALOG AND THEYVE REGULAR FM AM CASSETT TAPE PLAYERS TO. GO AHEAD AND WRITE THEM FOR A FREE BOOK.
tHE MORE EXPENSIVE ONE IS 279.OO DOLLARS OUCH!!!!
texanidiot25 01-29-2007, 03:52 PM Work done this weekend:
1. stripped the inner door panels off
2. took out the passenger side lock mechanism, it was jammed.
3. sprayed bug killer in the door due to loads of ants living in the door
4. fixed the passenger lock mechanism
5. put it back in
6. cleaned the drivers side one
7. plugged holes in fire wall to stop some of the water from getting in.
8. took off the glove box door, the hinge didn’t movie
9. hammered the dash back into shape where the door hinge had bent it
10. fixed the hinge put it all together.
11. installed NEW LOCKS on both doors
12. locked the doors (whoohoo)
The doors didn’t lock before, and didn’t have working key locks. So now you cant steal my 3-second sound system. The old amp that powers it turns on for 3 seconds, dies, turns on for 3, and dies...
Also are planning door panels and a custom grille.
The last owner did some crap job on wiring. Not the guy I bought it from, but the one before him. Wired the fuel pump to a switch under the dash, but not to say, a oil pressure switch. Also the sony tape deck thats in and amp is wire and twist nut land. Thats all going. We might try to fit a sub/enclosure from an escalade in the passenger cab corner, and some new door speakers.
We going to make custom door panels, just planing out materials and what design right now.
A few other things were thought out, and might do a few junk yard treks for head lights and such.
Chevy_Man 01-29-2007, 04:11 PM Dang thats a very good start... pretty dang clean too... keep the work up ...aleast its better than what mine looks like
texanidiot25 01-29-2007, 05:43 PM Thanks, a new trouble spot was found, the front cab corner on the passenger side flexes when thd door opens, so thats gotta be braced up. Other than that, its not too bad. Thankfuly :)
texanidiot25 06-30-2007, 11:20 PM Longtime, no update (not that is being faithfully followed  )
Made a cowl vent screen a few months ago:
Cowl vent screen made, and installed:
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p316/texanidiot25/IMG_0800-1.jpg
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p316/texanidiot25/IMG_0870-2.jpg
And then Today, was a good day. I found the 'toy store' of 60-87 Chevy trucks. Outback truck parts in Spring :o every part needed, and killer prices. So for $120 we got 2 headlight bucket adjustment plates (hard as hell to find), headlight hardware, glove box, new hindge and spring (badly needed a right one, youll see) , and then trim clips and a center A/C vent. Some stuff is for later, but you couldnt beat the price at the place...
anyhoo, new hood hindge:
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p316/texanidiot25/trucks048.jpg
See anything wrong with that one?
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p316/texanidiot25/trucks049.jpg
So new hindge and spring
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p316/texanidiot25/trucks051.jpg
Closes flush now! :) Before, any time you opened it, the hindge bent more and more. To the point where the hood closed and you had a near 2 inch gap at the cowl. Now its all pretty uniform all around. And finally, its not a PITA to try and lift the hood up on the emblem with one hand while the other holds the latch. Now it pops up on the 2nd latch, and lifts with ease :metal:
http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p316/texanidiot25/trucks050.jpg And with the trim clips the rear tail light trim clipped on
The engine will be here soon, when ever we can get into my dads storage center and bring home the engine stand.
Luvlegs 07-01-2007, 12:51 AM I envy you doing this project with your dad - you'll both get to learn about each other. I heard this somewhere else and it makes perfect sense - "When I was 14, my dad had no clue what was going on in the world, when I turned 21, I couldn't believe how much my father had matured"..... Make the most of your time together - as much as it means to you now, it will mean more in the future. Stick to getting it safe, reliable and roadworthy - THEN the bling stuff. I'd recommend doing the "headlights w/relays" upgrade - you can find it in the FAQ section (from the home page, part way down - not from the top of the page) - look through the thread that is a list of all the FAQs - lots of good info. Good luck, be safe and HAVE FUN!
texanidiot25 07-01-2007, 12:12 PM Thanks so much. I grew up in the garage, my dad had a 76 Camaro (12 seconds easily on street tires pump gas 396 BBC) a 51 Chevy (his grandmothers, willl be restored some day) and a 78 El Camino (I came home in it when I was born, custom blue/white two tone, planned 400hp TPI V8 drop, but some a-hole wrecked into it one winter while it was parked, and totaled it :( )
Im paying for it all myself, pretty much. So, yeh, road before bling. But the most bling it will get is a new set of rims some day, and when we redo the interior after fixing the windshield's touble spots.
Ill keep this updated with the engine news. THe storage place my dad has all his old garage stuff (we moved from dallas to houston in 2002) has the engine stand we need. And the keys to it are 'misplaced' at the moment
http://www.outbacktruckparts.com/
If you live near spring, texas, you aught to check that site out.
FRENCHBLUE72 07-01-2007, 02:57 PM Looks like you have a great project to get started on just keep focused and set some goals for the truck and it will get done sooner than you think..
texanidiot25 10-07-2007, 08:41 PM Finally!
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/IMG_4083.jpg
Drove out to check out the motor today. Its great Rebuilt a few years ago, and the transmission too. The block is just dirty, but its in great shape. Not leaking oil anywhere, no sludge in the motor, etc.
Buying it tomorrow, picking it up next weekend!
1972CheyenneSuper 10-07-2007, 09:52 PM The truck is coming along nicely. I think if you got a chrome bumper and lost the rear window tint, you could clean up the back end tremendously. Do you plan on getting the stock a/c working? I saw in your hood hinge pictures that you have the lines with rags in them.
texanidiot25 10-07-2007, 10:14 PM Im keeping it tinted, houston summers are typically 90-100+ degrees. And I cant afford new bumpers right now, just want it driving.
Yup, gonna try and get it all back in. Making it drivable and safe is 1st priority though.
72longhornTX 10-07-2007, 11:09 PM Hey what high school do you go to. I go to Cy-Fair High School. I have a 1972 Longhorn im working on.
texanidiot25 10-07-2007, 11:21 PM Cy-Woods. But my truck is in the 1960 area, not in Cypress.
72longhornTX 10-07-2007, 11:23 PM Oh thats not bad. There is a guy at Fair who drives a 71 to school everyday. Im hoping to drive mine next semester.
texanidiot25 10-07-2007, 11:40 PM Yeh, the truck is at my dads. Haven't seen his, I was at Fair freshman year.
PM me dude ;)

70cst 10-08-2007, 10:50 AM :welcome2: and :cong:
I am partial to CST's as I have a 70cst...thus my name. Your truck has very good "bones" and many of our trucks have a lot of rust issues. Your bed looks really solid.
Big Ants71...thats a nice thing you are doing and I agree it's refeshing to see a young man willing and able to work on his own truck. Me...I am mechanically challenged.
Hey texanidiot25...Because you are willing to work on your truck and it's a CST if you get a hold of Josh...I will pay for your 1st year membership to this board. No strings attached!! . You will find the guys/gals very helpful and we see each other as equals no matter what type of truck we own. Plain Jain to rodsteration...you cant go wrong with these trucks. I just did a bump for you...look for the "Icon" thread. You will see these are classic trucks indeeed. Good Luck
70cst 10-08-2007, 03:07 PM Hey texanidiot25 ...

Awesome, thank you so much. Pleas PM me some pictures of them, and measurements of a box that fits so we can figure shipping. Think Ill just need rockers, since the weak point in the cab was due to the spot welds being broken along the rocker panel.
Hey texanidiot25 ...

70cst 10-08-2007, 08:29 PM Hey texanidiot25...
Keep the faith...I am trying to get you hooked up as a site supporter...I have sent a couple PM's so hopefully they will get back with me soon so I can do this.
70cst 10-09-2007, 05:04 PM Hang in there...I am still trying to pay for your membership. I didn't realize it would be this challenging?
earl87gta 10-09-2007, 06:38 PM Got the truck looking good. you going to put the motor in next week end?
70cst 10-09-2007, 09:03 PM Hey texanidiot25...
Do you have pay pal? I could send you the $25 that way and then you could pay for the one year membership. :gi: I am going to get you that free membership if I have to buy out this board. Just kidding about buying the board out. With the number of members on this site I realize that they probably get a 1000 emails a day. They need to make paying in a situation like this a little easier. I paid for my son's membership about a month ago and it was a challenge back then. Keep the faith because being a site member will be worth the wait. :metal:
70cst 10-09-2007, 10:00 PM OK texanidiot25
$$$ has been sent and you should soon become a member to this site within the next day or two. :welcome2: to our family!!

LOL - nice tohave it out of your system, huh?
BTW - looks like it worked!
texanidiot25 10-09-2007, 10:44 PM Thanks a ton 70cst!
Yup it came through, I no longer sport the pink.
Thanks guys for your support.
Got the truck looking good. you going to put the motor in next week end?
Picking it up friday or saturday, and will get it in this weekend. Hopefully will rig a way to start it up. Next on the to-do list is to take the gas tank out, make sure it's rust free, and change out the fuel filter, etc. Maybe switch the fuel pump back to a mechanical one. The PO before my neighbor wired an electric pump on a toggle under the dash.. then ghetto wired it up. If we were to keep the pump, it would be wired on an oil pressure switch or something.
What is the difference between the long tail shaft, and short tail shaft on the TH350? In inches?
herb101 10-09-2007, 10:47 PM What is the difference between the long tail shaft, and short tail shaft on the TH350? In inches?
3" I believe. The short is 6" and the long is 9", IIRC.
Herb
70cst 10-09-2007, 10:52 PM You are welcomed texanidiot25 ...
What I did mirrors the spirit of this board. Again welcome to the family.:)
earl87gta 10-10-2007, 12:41 AM I would switch it back to mechanical . Did you find some motor mounts ? I know you had sid you needed some.
texanidiot25 10-11-2007, 05:25 PM Yup, motor and transmission mounts came in today, thanks to NAPA.
Tomorrow we go and grab it, and repaint it. Let that dry over night, and then start work saturday morning.
Cant wait, the week has been a drag, but can't wait til friday night!
Ill post plenty of pics and what ever video I can.
texanidiot25 10-13-2007, 07:21 PM With out further ado, the dog has it's bone.
Last night:

Today:
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/v8home048.jpg
:metal:
More later, Im gonna bum out for a bit. Busy day
texanidiot25 10-13-2007, 10:47 PM Mkay, story time.
Last night we dropped by the shop to pick up the motor, loaded it, and our engine stand back into the truck and headed home
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/v8home011.jpg
And then stripped it down that night.
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/v8home014.jpg
'bout 10 in the morning, got to work. Repainted the block Chevy Orange engine enamal.
before
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/v8home035.jpg
after
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/v8home037.jpg
Now sadly the engine's paint is better than the truck's
Then you guys know the fun game of dropping an engine and transmission in:
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/v8home038.jpg
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/v8home048.jpg
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/v8home049.jpg
Had to take the manifolds off because they got in the way of the motor mount brackets. Otherwise fit like a charm. And luckily the tail shaft on the transmission was unchanged from when it was in a 70s C10 (lived the rest it's time in a '69 Camaro), so the drive shaft will fit too. We'll rebolt all the accessories on at a later time...
But, main thing is, IT RUNS. This motor is amazingly new. Even the exhaust valves were still clean. When they said freshly rebuilt, no kidding. Transmission is the same way, which they said was rebuilt years back too. Best $750 spent.
YouTube - The CST/10 Lives! 1st runs < YES!
:metal:
70cst 10-13-2007, 11:09 PM Won't be long till Orange Crush will have some new life "squeeezed" into her!

drivethechevy 10-14-2007, 12:36 AM very nice truck, i have myself the same highschool and money pit issue that u are probly having, right now im starting to work on restoring my second one with the help of my dad and grandpa, these trucks trully are the best, idk what your school is like but at mine no one touches my daily driver, its not the greatest of trucks but it looks nice and it runs well, when u start driving it expect to have lots of gawkers and notes on your windsheild saying sweet truck, great project, youd be suprised at how much respect it will get you driving a clasic truck i know i was when i started driving mine, good luck with it
70cst 10-18-2007, 07:58 AM Update please?

texanidiot25 10-20-2007, 11:41 AM very nice truck, i have myself the same highschool and money pit issue that u are probly having, right now im starting to work on restoring my second one with the help of my dad and grandpa, these trucks trully are the best, idk what your school is like but at mine no one touches my daily driver, its not the greatest of trucks but it looks nice and it runs well, when u start driving it expect to have lots of gawkers and notes on your windsheild saying sweet truck, great project, youd be suprised at how much respect it will get you driving a clasic truck i know i was when i started driving mine, good luck with it
:metal:Thanks man.
Sorry, very busy with school so Im rarely on during the week. The only updates is that were gonna use a set of ceramic coated shorty headers of the Tuned Port thats in storage. I'll see what else I can convince him to pull off
Next weekend we will maybe pull the tank out and check it. Kinda broke on money so things are slow again.
texanidiot25 10-30-2007, 01:27 AM So, headers that we have, dont fit. Damn. Sweet set of ceramic coated shorty headers, but wont fit between the frame rails.

Got the transmisison crossmember bolted in, horns replaced (another free-be from a Caddy, original one was dead), the newly straightened grill back in, alternator water pump pully, and the beginning of HELL.... Wiring.
Ahh, look at that. No big gap at the top like before.

Beep beep.. Wired in the snail... I mean horns

We may get the drive shaft in, not totally sure. Its purty rusty, and its no loss to go and get a custom one made, thats a one piece, and not the two piece like original. Better actually...
If I ever hear any one tell me their car is dirty, try the frame rails of this truck. The grease was so caked in around the crossmember bolts, I had to spend time trying to clean them off, just to get a wrench on there. Only to get showered with dirt and more caked on grease every time you knocked something or turned a ratchet hard enough  Goood times..
Now just working on wiring, which is slow, slow work. The guy who owned it before my neighbor, really did a crack-job of bad wiring. Lets say one wire alligator clips to another wire, which again alligator clips to the fuse block....
MMMMMMM, so clean I eat with them

earl87gta 10-30-2007, 02:09 AM looks like you have it close to being ready to drive.
drman929 10-30-2007, 10:55 AM Looks great! You might want to think about getting a set of those cheap ramhorns from ebay. IIRC, they're like $30 a piece.
drman929 10-30-2007, 11:02 AM Here's what I was talking about-

I can't find the other side though?
texanidiot25 10-30-2007, 08:59 PM Yup, were gonna see what hits us locally, for cheaper. The truck already has pipes set up for long tube headers.... bah we'll figure it out.
texanidiot25 12-11-2007, 02:54 PM Gettin closer to the road!
Wrestled the drive shaft back in today. That was a trip to do while on your back in the driveway. Got the ignition all wired up, so in theory it works (didn't try it..). So, now it has the ability to move under it's own power. Not going to push my luck though until I get some headers/manifolds atleast, and a radiator hooked up... and the last bit of shift-linkage.
Its gettin close to moving! :metal:
Now, it needs a good supension and brakes overhaul.. One of the previous owners stuck bolts into the In between some coils on the rear coil springs to compensate for the sagging... so new springs all around, new shocks (you would be suprised how much this will rock by lifting at the fender), put in the Escalade sway-bar up front. Then for brakes were converting it to front disk brakes, so when we order that kit, comes with some lowering spindles. so probably a 2 or 3 inch drop up front, with a 4 inch drop in the back (with new springs).
Then some wiring, interior, and head lights....
 Seeing the light at the end, no matter how slight it is!.
texanidiot25 12-28-2007, 03:09 PM Just a bit done, with the Christmas parts I got. Got under, and took off the cable-style shift linkage from the transmission, and put my piece on. And adjusted the column back into the ball park of being right. It was off to the point where it would easily click out of reverse. Kinda wierd now to shift the column, and having the transmission click into gears. :metal:
Got a bit of work to get the radiator to fit.

Aluminum radiator for christmas
More of the Christmas parts:
Tail light lenses, since mine were cracked, barely reflective, and ugly:

Old on the left, new on the right
Headlight bezels!

Will probably paint them black, since their too shiny for my grille...
So, so, so close to a test drive........
bhunt31 12-28-2007, 03:20 PM did you ever get your vin decoded? I think I have a catalog out in the garage that has vin decoding info in it for that year. I also have a 69 CST/10.

Yup, I found the decoder on this site.
bhunt31 12-29-2007, 11:30 AM Yup, I found the decoder on this site.
Ok, just wanted to make sure.
texanidiot25 01-14-2008, 01:02 PM Got the bling-bling aluminumnumnumnum radiator in today, transcooler lines hooked up, heater lines in, and flushed out all the old green coolant. Seriously, I need headers!!!!!!

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/CST10/xmas021.jpg
That is what I was talking about previously, the Rad mount had to be cut to fit the filler neck on the radiator.
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e321/texan_idiot25/CST10/xmas026.jpg
Slowly fillin' 'er up.
May fire it up again this weekend. Not sure. A semi-idea was to toss the camaro manifolds back on upside down, so the exited pointing up towards the grille... Just so it can run w/out worry of damaging any valves.. Dunno, we'll see.
With a set of headers, this truck is ready for a test-drive. :o
70cst 01-14-2008, 02:47 PM WOW texanidiot25...you are really making nice progress. I am glad to see your 69cst make such good headway. My 70cst is glad to see his distant cousin 69cst getting all dressed up and ready to take on the world. Keep us updated.
