Rokcrln 01-23-2008, 07:19 AM Few more pics but yep it is raining so no out side sun shots for now. It is up and running again so the first chance of sun shine I will pullit out and get a few shots. This week I will work on the new vent windows, door glass, weather stripping and color sanding the roof then if all goes well I will drop it off at the glass shop friday for teh front and back glass with the stainless trim. Kevin LFD Inc. clemson71guy 01-23-2008, 07:24 AM verrry nice smbrouss70 01-23-2008, 07:38 AM Looks real good, Kevin! Here baby hauler is an 07 TrailBlazer SS 395hp LS2 V8 so it should do the job:lol: I had a new bumper that came with the truck that was suposed to be a 70 bumper all rechromed but when I pulled it out it turned out to be for some other year. It does not have the light holes but has some funky turned in portions in the top edge about were the head lights are? I will get a pic so I can find out what it is. So I put my old bumper back on and I will ether get a new 67-70 or find some driving lights for this one! Kevin LFD Inc. I will wake up about 4am go to the shop and turn on a few heaters then go back to be untill 6am or so before heading out to work. That helps alot and if I have the paint booth set up then two heaters will get that up to about 75* in under two hours and that is really nice but when you shut the heaters off to paitn it drops real fast! I will be keeping the Low Buk plates Since what I have into it out of pocket is still not to bad for the end results. Also this was more of a show how it can be done thread not a Do it just like I did thread;) I think be folowing the steps I have gone thru it can be built for around 4-8K for a good sound truck ready for daily driving. As far as the bumper goes I don't have time to be shipping so it would need to be a pick it up kind of deal. Yeh sorry with the time it takes for me to ship large items and still give you a cheap fare price for the bumper and my time (what their is of it) I am better off giving it away, you know what I meen. It turns out that a curent customer build that I am doing "Project Trazer" is going to be a GMC (Trimmy) and not a Chevy like I had assumed it was. I will be donating the bumper to that project. I have been slacking on this project so I hope this will keep me in his good graces;) Kevin LFD Inc. GREASEMONKEY72 01-25-2008, 09:59 AM its lookin really good and thanks for the paint code, do you know if they have that same paint in flat instead of gloss? or did you make it gloss? that trims adds a lot to the truck to jugernot 01-25-2008, 04:27 PM I plan on using those on a 67 build I have planned so I can smooth out the other turns in the grill. Here it's been 5 days since last pics of the truck not counting the little shot of the engine covers. Did ya get the glass in yet? What's next? Comeonnnnnnnn man! We're hurting! ;) No the glass is not in yet. We have had alot of rain and my wife has been working late and I need her car to tow it to the glass shop. I worked on cleaning the yard up a bit this weekend between rain storms so not the bed is in the shop and ready for work. I think glass will be done in the next two weeks. Nice paint on the engine covers... Now the rest of the engine looks like it could use a good cleaning up. Great awesome work so far.. Now come to TX and fix my truck.. You can have an all access pass to the fridge and TV if it helps.Yes the engine needs help or I can just keep the hood shut:lol: Thanks for the offer but I have two packed fridges here, a 50" plasma on the wall and as of two nights ago a 24" flat screen for the computer so I think I will stay here for now! Here are a few pics of the clean up act. Oh my gosh a ford! YA YA I know but this one has been hiding in a barn since 1960 and just came out last year. It is an original 47K miles or so and a factory flat head V8. It is going to be a bad @ss project once my blazer is done. Rokcrln 02-03-2008, 04:31 AM It might really get done! I ended up getting Friday and Monday off and my wife and son are out of town untill Sunday so it is b@lls to the wall on the truck bed. Before lunch I did the handle flip on the tailgate and I will do a full write up in the next day or on it with 42 step by step pics. It went well but their were a few things that needed to be fixed with my kit. Here are a few teaser shots for now:lol: It took me 3 1/2hrs and $85 for the kit to do this from start to finish even with the mods and redo's that came along. Metal work is almost done and I am about to start the skim cote tonight. Block and prime Saturday, Block and prime and block Sunday. Paint Monday! Rest when dead:lol: Kevin LFD Inc. Rokcrln 02-03-2008, 10:54 AM Done for the night! I finished up all the metal work on the bed and gate and plopped on a skim cote before heading in for the night. I welded up all the trim holes on the side of the bed and also the lower holes on the gate. I am leaving the top holes on the gate right above the old handle and the trim holes along side the tail lights. I will drill the new holes in the bed sides after it is mounted back on the truck to help with alignment. For the trim on top of the gate I will be using the lower trim from this gate since it does not have the handle nitch. I also set the new side marker buckets into the bed sides and modified the tail light mounts for a flush fit as well. Kevin LFD Inc. 166hrs main build $6163.00 main build 118 1/2 Paint hrs $905.00 Paint franky69c10 02-03-2008, 01:33 PM ^^^^ looks good Kevin see ten 02-03-2008, 08:54 PM You don't want to do like putter did and just drive the truck to the glass shop while wearing goggles? I drove a car without a windshield about 40 miles for a buddy while wearing a full face motorcycle helmet. I only got stopped by one police officer on the way. He wanted to perform a sobriety check due to it being about 20* outside. Oh and did I mention the reason the car didn't have a windshield was it had been rolled? Anywho, I like the idea of using the lower trim were the old upper 3 piece was. I had always thought that if I relocated my handle that I would do it that way myself. The truck is coming together nicely by the way. (And yeah, I really dig the old Ford!) Rokcrln 02-03-2008, 10:42 PM You don't want to do like putter did and just drive the truck to the glass shop while wearing goggles? (And yeah, I really dig the old Ford!) Now I might be doing this since the truck will be all together by next week I am hoping. When I first set out to get the glass done I did not have time to get the bed done so it was going to be not all together and with the motor, tranny and gears I have in this truck it is not fun to drive with the bed off. Just putting it in gear spins the rear tire's. Yes I know it is fun but not safe and that meens no fun with the bed off and all the rocks hitting the back of the cab and your head! I think I have spent to many years working around SanFrancisco because now I feel that I am a Bi-Vehicular (ford & chevy) guy:lol: Kevin LFD Inc. Rokcrln 02-05-2008, 11:43 AM Ok well the last few days has been very busy. I finished all the metal work on the bed and tail gate including the handle relocation kit. I recesed the lights in the bed as well. I then helped a friend modify his trany crossmenber in his 68 camero for a 700r4, went to another friends house to give pointer on body work for his dads 46 chevy 4dr and did I mention work on my own stuff as well. All the body work is done and two good cotes of fill primmer. I will block it down in the morning and paint by 2 or 3pm. It is not perfect were the rear top body line is from shortening the bed sides but it will look very nice all the same. The bed will be line-x'd up over the top rail and the side molding still has to get drilled after paint and bed install. Here are a few pics fopr now. It was another 10hr day to get to this point. You will have to do a write up with pics of your redneck paint booth. Gotta love it. Rokcrln 02-06-2008, 05:14 AM Good news! Looks like I just sold my Slow Build project so that meens more room here for starters and second I will be dropping LowBuck off at the glass shop this Friday for front and back glass install, then from their it will roll down the road to the line-X shop to get the bed done and once that is dry they will push it 4 doors down to the interior shop to ge the seat recovered in a syn. leather two tone and maybe some door panels to match. Then with the left over money I will get my frame table material and the auto spit to get started on my 2wd Blazer once a few shop jobs are out of the way. So I hope by Saturday to have the shop cleaned out and Project Trazer in the shop for the final go round. Thanks Dan for being under standing while I induldged in my truck!! The wife thanks you as well because now she will have a nice truck to steel from me to cruse to work. Also the bed is blocked and in the booth just waiting on a spot on the tailgate to dry (small dent I missed) so I can finish up the sanding and should be in paint by 4pm today!
